Non musician here. I get the math. I understand the time signatures as expressed mathematically and from a safe distance (where I won't get hurt) but don't expect me to count that stuff when it is played. Mind-boggling, crazy and well-done!!
This was eye opening. I am looking into the topic since quite some time and making transitions always seems impossible. This was so elegant and easy done that I'll try it similarly next time around for sure. A general video on the topic would be brilliant. You are a great teacher and it seems you have composition, the big picture in mind, whereas often it is just the drums that is being talked about in regards to rhythm. Thank you
I’ve been wanting to get into writing stuff like this for a while, not really knowing where to start but this seems really good Glad I stumbled across this
Great stuff. I like the idea of preceding the metric modulation with tuplets of the proceding tempo change. I've made stuff with metric modulation from 4 to 5 like this before have gotten stuck getting out of the 5 time tempo feel.
I'll echo everyone else and say I'd love a longer lesson on metric modulation! I think it's a really cool sound I'd love to incorporate into my music more, but actually figuring out how to do it and get the math right consistently is beyond me right now lol
@@gopansamantaray3668 not quite. I just needed a low Ab so I tuned it down. I think the Tesseract one is a little different. I did a lesson on that main riff from war of being but I can’t remember exactly what the tuning was.
i Would 100% watch content on metric modulation, love the vid keep it up my bro
Thanks!

Thanks! It can get quite confusing for sure.

Glad it was helpful! I'll definitely do a more basic metric modulation video soon!

Glad you stumbled on it as well!

Yeah it's tricky to use musically!
A video about metric metric modulations would help
👍👍
Thank you so much brother🙏
You’re welcome!
Really love your explaination. What tuning are you in for the 7 string?
Thank you! Standard with the B String down to Ab
@@TheProgSchoolIs it somewhat like the War of Being tuning from Tesseract?
