someone else suggested this and both of you excluded PC-98 for literally no good reason
@@omegaotaku1342 the reason being those games are just an outdated nostalgia trip and mostly non-canon by now. Even touhou *6* is missing several of the core mechanics that are a staple of the series.

And if they're to be excluded just for being a bit different from the rest of the series, then why not exclude Touhou 6 as well because it's "missing several of the core mechanics that are a staple of the series"? Heck, why not remove all of early Windows while we're at it just because those games use two options instead of four?
@@b.w.s3165 Are you kidding me? That is got to be the dumbest reason I've heard. While ZUN did decide to overhaul some things, the core of the game and the dark gloomy music that is so unique to pc-98 is such a good experience on its own that is worth for anyone. And while I admit maybe I would not tell people to start from touhou 1 or 2 but I would say that it is worth 100% to play it, I mean lotus land story bosses and music some people are just sleeping on, what a shame.

Not including Touhou in this is a crime, and I feel like calling Cuphead or Hollow Knight a bullet hell seems like a bit of a stretch, so I therefore propose:
If you die you move on to the next game, for Touhou 6-18.
Calling Cuphead a bullet hell game is like Calling Minecraft a shooter because you can shoot a bow and a crossbow.
@@pelinalwhitestrake3367 exactly he’s nuts for including cup head, hollow knight, and undertale. Gungeon and Isaac are also not bullet hells. Those spots could’ve gone to real legendary bullet hells and reached a wider audience, but he didn’t look up what a bullet hell actually is before making the video.

Yeah it honestly really annoys me. Could’ve gotten those games out to a wider audience and instead he shows Hollow Knight for a bullet hell game… like wtf would it kill you to at least look up with a bullet hell is? Because looking under the steam tag for bullet hell doesn’t cut it, that tag is so misused. Not a single reputable bullet hell ended up in this video, pretty disappointing

Undertale is an example of “kinda” bullet hell-ish. Only because of Omega Flowey boss fight, the rest are just regular RPG with dodging mechanic even the Sans fight… just because its hard doesn’t mean its a bullet hell

@@kiwi_2_official I feel its less popular than enter the gungeon, or the binding of isaac, I havent seen JSAB randomly recommended to me even after watching a full playthru, and when I posted a meme on few subreddits everyone knew who was Hollow knight or juri (DDLC) but only singular people on few subs knew who bloxer is (first boss)

Honestly, that's probably about where I'd get as well. Though I'd have to do a different thing for Hollow Knight and could probably get slightly further in JS&B (then again, I use console for most of those that I've heard of).

Videos like these would be so cool if only they served a purpose. After flopping on many fronts, including the selection of games themselves, you barely even called attention to anything new
2 of these games I'd never heard of before, sure, I'll give you that, but they don't hold historical significance in gaming like so many bullet hells out there do (Touhou and Binding of Isaac just to name what I know in my limited knowledge), and come on, the amount of Whatta Horrible Year shown in this video just looks identical to Journey of the Prairie King, which is to say you managed to pick something without a unique visual identity in the BULLET HELL GENRE (no offense to the game Whatta Terrible Year itself, I imagine it's great)
