  • "Mirror Image" - When teenager Dennis Lewis is killed fighting off home invaders, all police have to go on is a single handprint. But when lab results reveal who the print belongs to, no one wants to believe it.
Is this a betrayal of biblical proportions, or a major forensic foul-up?

This was not only BOTCHED , This was by far one of the poorest investigation I've ever seen by any so called detectives and so called assistant d a I've ever seen and heard of!!! I wonder at what point of their STUPIDITY that in their feeble minds that the twin brother had to do it sounded right to them?!! As that commercial goes you can learn a lot from a dummy whomever the cap fits let em wear it. It's a wonder that those detectives and district attorneys can say and spell their names!!!!

I think the female homicide detective who attended the scene should have been better supervised by her superiors and I didn't see anything about a partner who she could have discussed things with, but perhaps I missed that. I'm sure she was well intentioned but she seems to have been inexperienced and poorly supported. We all have to learn and grow in our chosen profession. She and others seem to have overlooked/dismissed other possibly important aspects of the crime scene and got a bit fixated on one fragment of apparent evidence which was only belatedly well interrogated. They seem to have overlooked/ignored other stuff - like Derris's very sound alibi and total lack of motive or malice. The ladder going up to the bathroom window? Possibility front door was unlocked? Not everyone locks their front door at night without fail or even at all. Eighteen months in prison waiting/hoping to be exonerated for a crime you didn't commit, accused on very flimsy evidence is not exactly justice. At the very least he could have been fitted with a GPS monitoring tag and released with conditions while awaiting trial. I do recognise that in other cases a single drop of blood on a trainer or a t-shirt can be highly significant so I guess it is not an easy call to make.

I went to the store and seen crime tape one morning. Came home and the other woman asked me to take her to the morgue. Me helping the one neighbor got the police at my door a week later. Taken down to the station under the guise of being questioned, to being locked in a jail cell over night against my will. Never been arrested, broken the law. But there I was having my rights violated. It traumatized me. understand that law enforcement's one job is for the prosecution to get a case. I’ve never watched such a closely bonded, grief stricken, empathetic man be accused of a crime that clearly hurts him and without a doubt you can see how good and pure this man’s motives in life are. This makes you understand their grief that much more and missing another one of him, with all this quality of a man, be taken away so senselessly. I can’t help but feel true grief with him. They still haven’t tested the items? That’s ludicrous. That’s so unjustified that they couldn’t put the resources that his brother deserved towards finding the killers! A decade later! They probably lost it. That’s all the more frustrating and makes me upset I can only imagine what his family feels. Rest In Peace Dennis 🙏🏼

So many plea out of fear and believe if they don't it will be worse because of the statistics of not being believed due to a lot of differences. Others plead not guilty who are not guilty and get 25 plus to life with lack of evidence and then finally the real person or DNA proves them not guilty. Going in as a teen or young adult and coming out in their mid 40's to mid 70's due to racism and over zealous people is Insane!!!

What an absolutely wonderful young man Darris Lewis is and I'm sure his late brother Dennis was the same. I'm sure their mum didn't have it easy with two boys, especially when they hit the dreaded teenage years but I'm sure she is so proud of her boy Darris and of the man Dennis could have become if he hadn't been so tragically taken from her at the young age of 17. I'm sure she thought she could lose them both. God Bless this family, look out for them Jesus and protect them eternally. Amen 🙏 🙏

What is with the police and sometimes focusing on one suspect so much that they decline to look at other suspects and circumstances? I mean what will be the motive for Derris for committing the crime cos I bet if there was a stash/money in the house, he would know where to go and probably wouldn't need to go through that stress of going to ask his mum where the money his. He's grieving for his twin and they accused him of doing it? There were several people per the mom's account. Why wouldn't the rest of the evidence be tested. It's his mom's house. It’s easy to see that Darius is an outstanding person. I imagine Dennis was as well so it makes it that much sadder that he lost his life at such a young age in such a senseless way. It’s also refreshing to see prosecutors and detectives that can admit when they are wrong and make things right. It seems like too often we see cases where a defendant is clearly innocent but the people in charge refuse to see what’s in front of them because they can’t admit that they were wrong.

The female officer never stayed to view the photos of fingerprints which happens but she sounded more frustrated that she was being questioned than remorse that an innocent life could have been ruined. Had he not fired the previous “attorney” he would have spent his life in jail meanwhile those officers wouldn’t have thought twice about whether or not he was innocent! Disappointed!
