i feel like 21 will always have a special place for me simply because it was the MLB The Show that I returned to and played a lot of, I had a ps3 from 2010-16 and I ended up getting a xbox instead of ps4. So without having any access to the show I didn’t play for years til 21 came out I personally think 16 is the best gameplay wise but 21 content blows anything out of the water
21 will always have a special place in my heart because it was the 1st year SDS came to xbox and my first baseball game i really locked in and played since MVP 05. That 1st year i was absolutely terrible striking out 15 20x a game and i was hitting on directional 😂
I know bro, dunno if you play Fortnite but it’s the same idea, people hate the new seasons till they’re gone. You really only learn to appreciate some things after the fact
I collected every single card in 20, 21, and 22. Was not too far off last year besides some random event cards that were awful yet crazy expensive. All no money spent. And I didn’t even get the first season 1 collection pack this year. So clearly something is off to break my addiction so completely. I have paralleled less and less cards since 21 too. I had 100s of P5 cards. I don’t even have a single one yet in 24. The power creep and pack content doesn’t work in a sets model. I want to be able to quickly get and use cards that are actually awesome if I’m only going to have them for 2-3 months.

I still play MLB 21 specifically on my PS4 because of Bacon's Fictional Roster! made the game have infinitely more replay value for me. I'll probably never stop playing it

I liked 19 the most. I recently picked up 22 and whike ive had fun i havent had anywhere near as much fun as 19. I dont play diamond dynasty either so that is not a selling point for me. Byt with 22 whike the presentation is a step up from 19 the game doesnt feel as smooth to me. Everything feels like it runs worse and the fact that 19 is a ps4 game and 22 was a ps5 and i cant tell any difference with graphics absolutely disgusts me and road to the show is a let down. Its the exact same but with less features. In 19 there was over 250 different names to choose from and i could get them to say my real name in game. In 22 for whatever reason there is only 115 names and sure enough my real name was removed. Thats horribly lazy. You couldnt even bother to copy and paste the names you already used just three years before. Theyre taking the madden route and its sad. Just resell the same game for full price every year. Exactly why im not buying 24 even if its on sale. Im boycotting MLB the show until they actually change the game and give me a better baseball game. One that plays smooth and has graphics up to par for current gen systems and actually has updated features to its other modes like road to the show because thats what i like to play the most.

Road to the show is trash. You can play good and get on base just for your teammates to strike out every single at bat or hit into a double play. No point to even get on base because you can guarantee you won't be driven home 99.9% of the time. The ONLY way you can control the score is to be a pitcher.

I really like the longevity of MLB the Sow games. I first played 15 until I got 20 when 21 was out and now 24 because it's free in PS Plus.

It was harder to hit compared to 22-23-24. And when you use legend on 21 for pitching you will get knocked around compared to 22-23-24
