Definitely pays off. Upgrade your EDC & purchase purposefully. Most gear is cross functional, like the Doc pointed out. To begin prepping is easy. Start by storing food (you normally eat), water, batteries, light sources (headlamp, flashlight, lantern, flashlight), vinegar (great cleaner/decreaser) & baking soda (great for toothpaste). Learned prepping from sitting in on boy scout meetings in the early '90s (better to have something & not need it vs needing something & not having it). People who lived through the Great Depression/WW2 taught me the importance of a food pantry with at least 3 months food stored.
Who knows if it's worth it? Hell we might be the first ones vaporized, who knows. But I have alot of skills, knowledge, tools and drive which gives me options and options are good. I'm going through all of my stoves and heaters as we speak. It is below zero here and I still camp. With the skills and gear, it's really fun and rewarding but dangerous if you're not prepared. Of course "prepping" or whatever people call it, is extremely important. As usual you explain very well. Thanks brother.
Is it even worth prepping?
