Hey guys quite note the stabalizer gets much better as turn 1 progresses was first time using an electric one so did struggle a bit however wanted to keep things more natural looking. FIlming today so might be slow with replies as the next battle reports are progressing : ) also army showcases will hopefully start soon! Smallest army I think is about 10k painted!
Alright, I'm catching a few things as I go through the batrep, I'll edit in others if I catch any: -Dispel rolls need to -beat- the casting roll to deny it, not match (this is against the first fireball from the Prophetess). -Magical vortexes can't end their moevement on top of models, so it would have popped through the duke and then through the knights. -Stone throwers need to target the center of a unit, you can't place the template anywhere you like. -Nurglings are unit strength 3, beings swarms, so they would not benefit from Skirmisher's -1 to hit. -Pegasus Knights have counter charge, which would have surely helped. -Panic tests are triggerered after losing -more- than 25% of a unit.
Hi ! Thanks a lot for those battle reports ! They are great, I'm eager to see the rest of season one. The big chongus unclean one was very impressive. =) I have a few feedbacks for you so you get some rules strait for future reports : - Remember that Fated Dispel is a thing ;) - You can try to dispel each "remains in play" spells at the command phase of your turn. The bretonnians should definitevely have dispelled the vortices - You need to best the casting roll to dispel a spell, if you just meet the roll, the spell is not dispelled - The ward save is BEFORE the regen, always. This counts because wounds brought back by regeneration still count for combat resolution, remember ! - A vortex landing on a unit continues its path through the unit, and so on until it does not touch any unit - When the soul grinder charged the pegasus knights should have counter-charged on daemon turn 2 (+1 attack each, +2 strength) - When the soul grinder charged the other knights on a later turn, they should have counter-charged (+2 strength, lance not blunted) - Terror is only when you are getting charged, not when you charge (fear is when you charge, but only works if the fear unit has more unit strength) - Charges need to all be declared at once, you cannot know if a charge has succeeded somewhere to decide if you charge or not with a next unit - Vertue of the Ideal does not allow that character to be a general, as a reminder (I don't know if you stated anywhere who was the general in the army). - Why was the Lance formation blunted all of the sudden on daemon turn 3 ? They should still be in Lance formation here (see page 111 the conditions to blunt a lance)
Throwing in another one: when aiming the trebuchet you have to place the template directly over the center of the target unit in this edition, which I don't think was done for the shot on turn 1
And further, daemonic ward doesn't apply to magical attacks. Duke's attacks are magical (as he has the grail vow) and any unit joined by a grail damsel gains magical attacks as well.
The rulebook probably should specify that the regen save comes after the other saves, but i don’t think it does(?) Logically, it should come after the others though.
You don`t have to apologize every time dude, is a new format so is expected, we know this videos will get better and better with the time, keep fantasy alive.
Absolutely. Everyone appreciates your efforts and know you are improving all the time. Apologising only gives the issues more attention that they deserve. :) Thanks for a good batrep! I will certainly tune in again.
Leaving a comment to help out. I love seeing this kind of content. I'm super new to the WH world (Total war introduced me to it) and I really want to get into the tabletop as well, so this is a great way to help me start learning and get properly exposed to the game. I love it so much!! Thank you!!!!
8:16 just an FYI ward saves come before regeneration. Ward save stops the wound, regen heals the wound. And wounds taken but saved by regen actually count for combat res purposes.
I am here for the tabletop content not for the recording equip, so I still enjoyed it. I am happy that I understood a little more of the rules compared to the first battle.
I immediately clicked on this. I wasn't super introduced in Old World Battle Reports due to not having a huge interest in Tomb-Breton battles. But the minute I saw something Chaosy. I was immediately interested.
Oh wow. This was just great. Loved the outcome. They got what they deserved. Hopefully I'll have some time to play somewhere in the future myself. Looks like you guys having a lot of fun.
Great Bat Rep! I haven’t seen this mentioned yet, but artillery blast templates have to be centered on the unit before scatter. The Treb shot in turn 1 was in the back part trying to clip the Blight drones as well. Can’t do that in TOW.
I Like The Narration Over The Live Audio. Watching 1st Person Batreps Tend To Be Too Long And Boring. It's Nice When The Audio Cuts Out Cause We Get Through The Dice Rolls With Just The Result And Not You Guys Adding Modifiers To Explain What Roll You Need.
Very nice battle report !! I am eager to see dragons in action, so High Elves Realms and Warrior of Chaos are factions that I can't wait to see battle reports of.
Couple of things that may have changed up the game a bit 1) That fireball actually did go off 2) The Pegasus should have gotten counter charge off, and possibly also gotten the benefit of furious charge
Really cool batrep! I think it would be nice if you guys presented your armies whilst showing your lists. It is always nice to see how everyones armies look
only do a panic test at more than 25% casualties. "Heavy Casualties: If, during any single phase other than the Combat phase, a unit loses more than a quarter (25%) of the Unit Strength it had at the start of that phase, it must make a Panic test"
Don't forget your fated dispel each turn you get 1 (no bonuses unlimited range even if you don't have a spellcaster). Also matching a spell does not dispel it you have to roll over what it was cast on (turn 1 bretonnians). O and magical attacks stop your demons getting their ward save and regen saves are last now (Armour then ward then regen). Hope this helps.
Im fairly confused as to why the pegasus knights didnt counter charge before they got demolished. May have ended up winning combat between lances and furious charge.
What base size are you using for the great unclean one? One of my locals is looking to convert from age of sigmar but he is not sure that the great unclean one will fit on the official base size
Doesn't Virtue of the Ideal prevent a character who has it from being your General (or joining a friendly unit)? So unless you mistook the Virtue you had on the Duke, he would have not been allowed to be your General.
Despite the new mics, the audio is still pretty atrocious. I don't know much about that sort of thing, so not sure I can be very helpful in a fix, but it might be the room's acoustics. Your voice over audio sounds fine.

I believe a mistake was made early on. Nathan said he dispelled when he matched the casting value of the fireball, but you need to best it to dispel.

-Ward Save comes firrst , then Regen
You declare all charges before you roll to see how far they charge. Could change decisions a lot

It would be beneficial to the player throwing saves to use regen last @@bzilla8566 Whether or not the rulebook specifies an order
Should also note behemoth gets -2 ap on their stomps (against anything not also a behemoth)
I do wish there was a more detailed visual model and table showcase at the start of the video for these kind of battle reports. Nice all the same

Love seeing more battle reports, those models are looking sharp
So awesome to see this! Thank you for putting this together Nathan. And Walter!
Don't sweat the minor mistakes, great report guys - keep em coming.

Painting and putting on decals for my Bretonnian army while watching/listening to this. Thank you guys for this glorious content!!
It's great watching another batrep! I really like the general style and the tech quality improves quite fast. I'm excited to watch the next episode!
8:16 just an FYI ward saves come before regeneration. Ward save stops the wound, regen heals the wound. And wounds taken but saved by regen actually count for combat res purposes.
I believe your also supposed to get +1 to combat resolution for charging and also the regen wounds still count towards combat resolution

NATHAN HAS LET ME OUT MY CAGE AGAIN!
Another note, you do the daemonic (ward) save before the regen save, as in combat a regen adds to combat if passed but ward dows not.

Gorgeous Great Unclean One. Always a fan of the centerpiece models
Couple of things that may have changed up the game a bit
1) That fireball actually did go off
2) The Pegasus should have gotten counter charge off, and possibly also gotten the benefit of furious charge
Really cool batrep! I think it would be nice if you guys presented your armies whilst showing your lists. It is always nice to see how everyones armies look
Very entertaining! Only thing i would say others have mentioned already with the dispel snd counter charge.
Love your board. Awesome battle report.
The royal Pegasus also gets stomp attacks. If I recall right.
the duke has the grial vow default, he is inmune to psychology
Another enjoyable battle report Nathan.

If you want the page number let me know. Keep up the good content ^_^
Fun game, great to see Nurgle get some spotlight! GUO - would it be beneficial playing the GUO as a 50x50 miniature instad of the bigger, newer model?
Thanks for the vid, constructive criticism: if you roll into a dice tray it would be less chasing with the camera.
Stone throwers go to the middle of the unit they aim at, and you don´t unbind on an equal roll this edition ;)
Regens are after Ward Saves, right?
That fireball went off btw at start he added +3 while his caster is +4 and u got even rolls normally
47 mins, the soul grinder is a behemoth, so the stomps are at -2 save.
At 20 mins, when the Brets start hitting the daemons in combat, Nugle give them reroll 6s to hit.
Don’t forget: knights can countercharge any unit that isn’t infantry
Why didnt the peg knights choose to counter charge against the soul grinder? Where they able to declare a counter charge?
Hell yea dude the models look great
Thanks for the batrep guys. Don't muscians add 1CR in case of a drawn combat still?
Models look amazing!
You take Wards before Regens, or else the Close Combat will be messy since Regen saves still counts towards Combat Res.
I KNEW it would be unsure mexican!
U have to beat not equal to dispell and any blast templates have to sit in the middle of the unit
When can vortex in play spells be dispelled?
Dang. Those poor Bretonnians.
Please, please, please get a dice tray.
this! the sound on the board is irritating haha
btw bretonnian peg knights have the countercharge which they should be using....
Doesn't Virtue of the Ideal prevent a character who has it from being your General (or joining a friendly unit)? So unless you mistook the Virtue you had on the Duke, he would have not been allowed to be your General.
Doesn't a Behemoth does -2 AP on the stomps?
A wound is not a wound. A great unclean one’s wounds are a lot harder to get. 7 is just the count. Makes sense to me idk.
Its like saying this has seven cherries and the other seven watermellons… but how can they both have 7 fruit each
Despite the new mics, the audio is still pretty atrocious. I don't know much about that sort of thing, so not sure I can be very helpful in a fix, but it might be the room's acoustics. Your voice over audio sounds fine.
is this just for the old world or is it gonna come to the warhammer total war too ?
What do you mean?
Also pegasus have counter charge 🙂 he could die first
It landed in the lake lmfao
Is this your first face reveal? Why didn’t you tell us you’re so adorable!
😎
Pad the walls. That is all.
5 on pegasus faild LD? Wtf
ward save, before regen save!!!!!!
warmachines are so useless this edition. All the bat reps i watched they missed or missfired
