      Why would she have a homecoming here? 😂 she didn’t even grew up here.

    • @LifeOdysseyMotivation
      @LifeOdysseyMotivation Год назад +2

      @@thwb4661 I know. well, not an official miss universe homecoming but her homecoming for her roots and heritage, that's what I mean. And besides, she is invited by Miss Universe Philippines for the coronation in May I think.

    • @thwb4661
      @thwb4661 Год назад +2

      @@LifeOdysseyMotivation Good for her to get invited for an international trip, but I will not credit her for bringing pride to us Filipinos. She represented the USA, not the Philippines. Fro Fil-Ams in the US, probably yes. But to us here in the Philippines? Her victory is not our business to claim.
      It's like Australians claiming Catriona Gray's victory as theirs. Which they did back then and angered many Filipino fans since she represented the Philippines, not Australia.

    • @groundedangelsgarden
      @groundedangelsgarden Год назад +3

      @@thwb4661 I understand where you're coming from. Except the USA is a country of diversity and multiculturalism. And R'Bonney is the best representation of that. Her win is a win for diversity and representation for Filipinos everywhere. Filipinos are a diaspora and citizens of the world. Her father illustrates why that is so. He had to go where the opportunity was. So did R'Bonney. As an American citizen, her best opportunity was to compete in the USA. It wouldn't be fair to take that opportunity from a Filipina, born and raised in the Philippines. If she had competed in the Philippines, wouldn't she face backlash? Even if she was allowed, would she have better chances at MUPH even if she did her best, knowing the beauty standards tend to be more Euro-centric? It's only fair and respectful that she chose to compete in the USA especially since her win would have more impact and and make history. I think she recognized she wasn't just competing for herself, but for the Fil-Am as well as Filipino representation.
      Instead of arguing or fighting over the definition of "homecoming" why can't Filipinos and Fil-Ams celebrate this FIRST Fil-Am win 3 TIMES on the Miss Texas, Miss USA, and MISS UNIVERSE stage. The community has so much to celebrate! Enjoy while it lasts. It doesn't happen everyday. It took 71 years for a Fil-Am to win! How long till the next?
      However, I don't agree with a costly "homecoming" parade when that money could alleviate some of the poverty in the Philippines. I'd think R'Bonney as an eco-warrior would not want that either, because a parade can be wasteful. I don't think that's the legacy she wants to leave. That's why she's so deserving of her win. It's not every year that you see a pageant winner who champions sustainability and is proud to wear upcyled clothes that she and her fellow eco-warrior make to further their advocacy. So NO to a parade. Donate the money to a worthy charity instead.

      That is because Indians care about pageants. US does not. Most actually hate them and think they are silly and pointless.
      So when people say that the pageants are rigged due to “business” or “money” just know that they picked the wrong country for that. US does not care. So it shows that it is not rigged.

    🎉 We ❤ you, @rbonneynola!!! Just because there wasn't a parade doesn't mean her homecoming wasn't great. Just the opposite! Gotta love the intimacy of her homecoming. She was surrounded by the people who truly know, love, and support her unconditionally. A parade would be too wasteful and use up too many resources that could be spent on her advocacy or her hometown's priorities instead. A parade would have been inconsistent with her platform as an eco-warrior. Did a celebrity parade ever restore a country's dying economy? NO. The cost of a parade could probably feed thousands.

    For all of you guys bashing her homecoming, pageants are not a big deal in the US. That is why I laugh when people say it’s rigged. If they only knew that most of America does not care. People are more into the many sports teams here than pageants. They consider pageants irrelevant. If it was rigged, Venezuela would have won because they still care.

      Pageants are not a big deal in America. Many of them don’t even know who Catriona gray is. The most famous one here is Pia Wurtzbach because of the big mistake. That mistake was aired for many days on national news. But other than that, they don’t care. There was barely any mention of rbonney winning, and even if there was, most people are asking why are we even having pageants still. They consider it outdated.
