In India, we have started mid day meals which works as an incentive for primary and secondary school students to not drop out. Also, many provinces provide free cycles and school uniforms to girls to come to school. Central government has made RTE a law and every private school across India has to keep certain percentage of the seats in each grade for students from weaker sections of the society.

My mother served as teacher in Punjab govt sector all her life.
And let me tell you the one of the core problems of our education system is the lack of passion in our teachers. My mother worked so hard and often went out of the way to inspire girls to continue education and not drop out. She personally gave incentives to her students. Asked us( we were schooled in the best of the best schools) to give her ideas on how to teach her students in a better way.
She had the opportunity of establishing a new girls school in a very run down area and there were numerous challenges and she tirelessly worked to promote enrollment and created funds to provide sweaters, bags and amenities to children.
What I'm trying to say is if our teachers are poor, the quality difference between the public and private sector will grow by light years.

I would wonder though - we are also educating individuals in a variety of schools, colleges and universities and leaking them from the country in the form of brain drain. Would an emphasis on education curb that flow or we have to create other incentives for that to happen

Ap ek ya do needy bachon ka education ka kharcha needs wagera sub kuch uss ek ya do bache ko do. Achi school ka khud search krk usko uss school mei admission dilwado. Do as much as you can afford for that kid. Ek ya do bache k education ka kharcha bhi ajkal lakh sei oupr chala jata lekin agr log zakat o khairat ya achi achi asashon pei ithna paisa laga sakte toh ap k liye ek bache ki education expenses uthana koi ithni bari mushkil nhi ho sakti

EDTech is good only for older or matured people/kids. Kids need social interaction and human involvement. So its better that we stick to im person in school teaching with a little bit of hybrid model showing informative videos in class.

Who is responsible for the curriculum?
Without doubt, the most important person in the curriculum implementation process is the teacher. With their knowledge, experiences and competencies, teachers are central to any curriculum development effort.

The biggest problem in Pakistan is that most people aren't getting an education that can develop critical, rational, and scientific thinking. Bad education eventually leads to a high crime rate, and human rights violations.

Please share the portion on vouchers as a part of the clips. I think too many of these suggestions are part of a top down approach from pollicy makers with a very limited perspective. Miftah Ismail's suggestion seems to be a bit vague and based on anecdotal evidence.

We in India too have to go through the local language issue. We have more languages in this country than in Pakistan. The educationists came up with a three language formula where in the student learns English, their local language and a third language of any other state/Sanskrit/or a foreign language. One should remember that language is only a medium through which the child learns other important subjects like Math, Science and Social studies. I personally feel one only one language should be mandatory (English) and a second language could be taught which could be the child's mother tongue. Instead of using their valuable time to acquire the knowledge of a third language they could learn other important subjects.
