There were three different variations of the opening title when this was originally seen on "THE UNDERDOG SHOW" in 1966-'67. This episode was the last of a three-part story arc, when Colonel Coyote tried to make SOLDIERS out of the Gopher Indians (on the theory that if you can't beat them, have THEM join YOUR side)!
Somehow, and for some reason, I got up this morning thinking of this entro tune. I vaguely remembered the actual cartoon, but I definitely remembered the intro tune. I suppose this means I'm going to be singing it all day now, along with Super Chicken, Underdog, Grape ape, Johnny Quest etc....
Haggis: Thats what makes these way better cartoony cartoons than today... the animators could take whatever creative license they wanted to make the joke or gag work!! Cant do that in todays logical and so called safe to watch perfection cartoon world.
What him say funny ass hell remind me of mush mouth on the Cosby show price less reminds me of the late 60's and early 70's in Chicago on the west side 19th Springfield.
I love this one that's cracks me up again we want to reshaping classic episodes not the reboot ones only reshaping Go Go Gophers classic cartoons. Sincerely Yours Tommy Brown 🎬📽🎞🎥📼📹🖥💡📃📦✒️📡👍🙏
LOL, I know the Colonel kind of deserved what he got, but I can't help feeling sorry for those guys sometimes. Especially the Sergeant. He's only following orders and gets the short end of the stick every time. Poor guy.
The sergeant is like that character in LITTLE BIG MAN who keeps trying to talk General Custer out of doing something crazy, but never can. Maybe they even got the idea for him from these cartoons.
This cartoon was only a means to an advertising end. How much you wanna bet it's actually a cartoon for the parents (who could buy the general mills cereals they were made to sell...) disguised as kids' shows?? I remember this set of shorts actually being more funny than underdog!!! Gotta love all the names: Colonel 'kit' Coyote, seargent Okie Homa, and of course the absolute BEST Native American name EVER: "Running Bored"; & appropriately named " Ruffled Feather"!, who noone can understand!!!
“You rang?” 0:53. A line that Lurch used to say in the black and white Adams Family show in the 1960s.
“Um begging the Colonel’s pardon that’s no rock it’s a hand grenade!” 0:59

That fire in their mouths is somehow similar to when Godzilla breathes out his own atomic ray.
