Hi, just a comment to link up to Friday's (18.10.24) video. There was a point in the game @4:10 where, after about 30 moves you paused and evaluated "what next". Do you extend the right, do you invade etc, etc. You marked these points with a) to e) on Friday's video and I would love to know in detail what was going through your head at this moment. I expect that the decisions made at exactly these points are the decisions that differentiate dan from kyu players.
It's a ham radio term used to indicate that signal strength and clarity are both at 5 (i.e. optimal), so reception is good and everything's fine and coming in clearly. It has alternately sometimes been interpreted as meaning that everything is "square" (5x5) aka ship-shape, squared up, squared away, as it should be. So basically, keeping it 5x5 in this context means keeping everything solid, shapely and simple.
