This process is so amazingly and professionally done. Drew literally talked these guys through moment by moment guiding this huge tub onto the dolly. This is not something for the average person to try at home. You need professionals. Proud of you, Drew Vance!!!
Yes, very much so. They were so professional the entire time. I was asking tons of questions on and off camera and they answered everything with great detail. I had no idea it was that difficult to move a hot tub, but they really knew what they were doing and kind of made it look easy. That being said, I would still never attempt it, lol. Thanks for watching!
I work for a hot tub company and believe it or not we would consider this about as easy a move as we could ask for. Some of the more difficult things I've done would include going down (and up) a flight of about 20 stone steps with a hot tub weighing between 800-1000 lbs. sometimes we need to use one of these dollies connected to one of our trucks by a ratchet strap to lower it down a steep dirt hill on the side of a mountain to move it into a vault (a big hole in the ground) and then connect the electrical and install the cover and cover lifter and then do two more that same day all without a crane.
All about them benjis better more hands on deck the better. People who judge how long it took. Dont know how the access on the other side looks. Bravo my dude!! That was professional !
That's exactly right. These guys have been in business for a long time and know more hands on deck will produce a safer outcome. The other side was an option, but not a very good one. this route was the best route and these guys did it perfectly.
Thanks for sharing this. Definitely a job for professionals with the right equipment. Someone is coming to move one by me. It'll be interesting to see how they approach it, if they have that special spa dolly.
Yes, I learned a lot too. This process was very foreign to me until I showed up. He was unaware i would be there to record, but i'm glad they were ok with it and I'm glad they were patient with my questions.
After watching this video I must cut my iron fence near the 36" gate to accommodate the turn radius of the dolly as it goes around the support structure of the house into the patio. Also remove two bushes, and lay down 3/4" plywood over the soft ground. I'm amazed at the ingenuity of the designer of the dolly and trailer.
What do you do with the power cord? Do you cut it and leave it under the dirt? Does an electrician have to come to disconnect the cord from the breaker?
Good question. The cord was buried in the ground with a conduit pipe. We ripped it out and disconnected it from the designated breaker by the tub. We did have to open the breaker box and unscrew the cables from the terminals, but it was simple. The new owner of the tub was going to reuse the breaker box so he took it with him.
We strap our frame on the hot tub without the wheels to minimize stress on the cabinet. Then once strapped tight, add the wheels. This puts all the strain on the wheels and distributes the weight across the cabinet to avoid cracking. Plus we use a large yoga Mat to protect the cabinet. No saran wrap necessary.
First thing the dolly is on wheels I would have assembled it in the street and rolled it to the backyard. Next thing I would have done was set up the dolly next to the hot tub as not to slide it all around. Then I would have never added those blankets and plastic wrap because as soon as they stood it up all the water went straight under the plastic wrap to the blanket so when they were adjusting it on the dolly the blanket was already rolled down due to the weight of the water and it wasn’t protecting the shell. And it also made it so that it was in the way when they went to hook it with the trailer.Next it’s very flat ground there’s no need for so many straps and the boards they put down by the gate was completely useless it is flat ground. And also I don’t see what the point was of disconnecting the trailer from the tongue to put the display arm on A lot of wasted time.
I agree sliding the tub around that much was unnecessary. They actually did need to disconnect the trailer from the tongue as that is how they tipped the trailer and connected it to the dolly. the "display arm" was a tool that they used so they could have more leverage but with the amount of people they had,j more leverage wasn't needed.
Houston Texas, Sorry. Drew and his team for the right price will probably drive out there, but i'm sure you can find someone local. Thanks for watching. =)
That’s no fun. You have to do it with one other guy into a pickup box and afterwards you complain for the next couple weeks about your back. You have to break the side covers too. 😉

Best hotub moving company ever. I will be definitely using your service again thank you.
Cool video! Thank you for demonstrating our products!
Great product! Big Beard Moves are really efficient with your equipment! Thanks for watching!
I moved mine with a 5 x 8 trailer with ramps. Glad they moved it successfully!
Yes that is a cool way to do it too. I've seen it done a ton of different ways. As long as its transported safely, that's all that matters.
I love this job ,I move three tubs/spas a day with a pvc sled and slide on and off a flat bed 😁💪🦵
wow, that takes some dedication! I can imagine how this setup would make it easier huh.

@@darkknight4539 I don't remember. Maybe like 8x8 or some like that.
I saw the whole video on something that I never thought I would have any interest in. Crazy cool process. And that beard tho...
Right! Pretty cool process. Makes total sense though if you want something this valuable to moved correctly. Thanks for watching!

yea they really thought of everything. its pretty cool how these spas can stand up and be transported that way.
Will definitely have to get movers from local hot tub store. Great video THX!
Two guys moved mine easily on a small wooden cart. No special trailer or equipment. The company sells/delivers dozens per year.
WoW my crew get it’s done in the 1/4 of the time . And that’s being generous. Wait for it….. it’s called a giant magic carpet. The new technology lol
a whole new world?

Do you have a link to the equipment?
You should run the second strap front to back instead of side to side. The strap on the dolly holds it side to side
Yea that might work good too.
From where i can buy the kits for transportation
i tagged the creator of the rig in the comments

Yea there are a bunch of cool tips and tricks to moving these things. Anything helps, thx.
What was the fee?
Only takes two of us to move and spa up to 96'. Thats a 30 minute job.
Do you use the same machine? How do you do it?
So many things I would have done different.

What are the fees ? Or what did he charge to pick that one up and deliver ?
I don't know his fees. But yes he did charge to pick up and deliver to location.
My boys and I can load a tub in half the time with a tub sled
What measures are taken to ensure safe handling?
@ForeMoney we lay blankets down on the sled pick it up (cause we ain't soft) and then set it on the sled
@@amsmith3026 nice. How many on the crew? Same size hot tub as this one?
@@ForeMoney depends usually just 2 or 3 guys we move tubs way bigger than that one...also that one you moved doesn't look like a 1000 pounds 😂
Where's your air bay I move tubs with just me lol
Nice! Solo job?
Do you have a video of a solo hot tub move? I'm sure MANY people would love to see that
Solo sounds insane, would love to see a video on how that works out
Definitely specialized skill lol
The owner should take up George Clooney voice overs. He’d make more money 😇

Too much prep work!! By time the got this loaded, we would've been at the drop site with no damages.
prep work and a carefully delivered item it probably worth more than rushing to finish and making mistakes.
@@ForeMoney I've been delivering spas for 15 yrs bruh. It doesn't take that long

as many people as it took to move it with the dolly. they could of picked it up and moved it

Work harder not smarter… why even break your back when you can wheel it…
@ParlayJayTV there not that heavy. For real men

You mean work smarter not harder, they weigh from 500 to a thousand pounds
lol the guy he bought it from… literally a well known company online. I use this system as do many other spa store owners
