It's time for a change! Switching things up to see if tracking calories and protein intake can help get me going with my weight loss goals. Using the free version of My Fitness Pal this month to track. Come along on my first day tracking calories and protein!
I’ve used MyFitnessPal on and off over the years. I like that it’s a free resource and tracks what I’m looking for with protein & calories, so it’s my plan to stick with it for now.
Hey Lauren, I have always had success with WW plus 30min daily exercise. If consistent, the program does work. Not sure why it hasn’t worked for you. Hope you find something you can stay consistent with ❤
A great dessert cottage cheese I keep on hand... 2lb container plain nonfat Greek yogurt, 1.5lb container cottage cheese of choice, 1 can drained fruit cocktail or other fruit of choice, 0.6oz box sugar free gelatin. After stirring it up well I put it back in the containers and keep in fridge. Easy, satisfies a sweet tooth, and high in protein.
Hi, last year I decided to make the switch from Weight Watchers to counting calories. Weight Watchers had worked for me in the past, but the new program wasn't working at all. It was the best thing I have ever done. I just reached my year since the switch and am down 60 pounds. Good luck, and I hope the switch works well for you, too. ❤
Im so excited for you!! If you can add some strength training 👍 it helps a lot. I been on a calorie deficit (low calorie, high protein) and it has helped me a lot! (80lbs down and haven’t gone up) 😊 My 2 year weightloss anniversary is coming up and im so excited.
For the eggs, you can sub liquid egg whites for the 2 eggs, it will significantly up your protein for less calories. ☺️ i use one egg + 2 egg whites in my scramble/omelette 😊 add low fat cottage cheese if you want more protein
I’ve noticed a lot of people switching from WW to macros! I find too that I tend to get stuck after the program for a while and the scale doesn’t move. Super frustrating. Best of luck to you!
hey! i have a ninja creami too (only use it to make protein ice cream), and to avoid the icey texture this is how i make mine: 1 cup semi skimmed milk 1 scoop protein powder 1 tbsp cocoa powder low calorie sweetener of choice 1 tsp sugar free chocolate jello Whisk this in the ninja creami pint then freeze 24 hrs Run under hot tap for 1 minute Spin on ICE CREAM SETTING Add in 1 oreo then use MIX IN'S it turns out amazing highly recommend you try it :)
Also try & stay away from artificial sweeteners, flavors & colors. They've been shown to actually INCREASE appetite & SUGAR cravings & even irritate & breakdown the bladder especially for little ones who are wetting the bed. ❤
I lost 70lbs 11 years ago and 40lbs since January (after having my baby in September) and always have success even with consuming sweeteners. Consistency is key no matter what plan you do. WW works.
I made the switch from ww to counting calories after almost 3 years on ww (I'm the biggest ww cheer leader, definitely successful on it in the past, but not the last few years). I am down 10 pounds in that time and down to a weight i hadn't seen since November of 2022. It feels so good to be making an effort and actually having it pay off on the scale! Love your videos, you prepare such healthy appetizing meals and your kids are adorable.
Yes!! Same here- lost about 10% of my total body weight and hit that plateau everyone talks about. Time for protein and lifting weights!!! Thank you for always keeping it real. You’re such an inspiration❤️
Hey there, some delicious, as always, meals you've got! If you are having trouble with hitting your protein goals, I try adding a little cottage cheese, hummus, goat cheese, ricotta or even a spoon full of plain Greek yogurt into scrambled eggs (or omelets). I'll do avocado toast, but before the avocado I'll put some hummus, cottage cheese, goat cheese, or ricotta. I'll make some, what I call protein mousse, plain Greek yogurt and I'll mix in a spoon full or two of any protein powder of choice (though sometimes I'll leave that out, depends), a splash of vanilla or almond extract, a spoonful or so of sugar-free pudding mix of choice and stir that together. Powder peanut butter with chocolate protein powder and butterscotch pudding mix, gives a Butterfinger flavored type mousse. I'll do vanilla protein powder, vanilla extract and white chocolate pudding mix which goes well with any berries. Tonight I did chocolate protein powder, vanilla pudding mix, vanilla extract and a spoonful of powdered Nutella. Topped it with some fresh strawberries and it was really good. I love cottage cheese and I'll add it to anything and everything. Instead of mayo, I'll put some on my bread for sandwiches, you could even puree it to make it smooth if you wanted to. I'll puree the cottage cheese and add seasonings to make a dip and use that in chicken salad, egg salad, on bread or wraps etc.. I just always think of ways to add a little extra protein here and there.
I was just going to say this lol. Also, to avoid the iciness, after you get your frozen ice cream out of the freezer run the side of the container under the sink faucet for about 10 seconds, turning the container under the water. I use room temp water. There are so many protein creami recipes on Pinterest! ☀️☀️☀️
Was just coming here to say the same thing 🙂. Also if you can’t finish it you can put it back in the freezer and spin it again the next time you want it.
get the passion taso tea and a package of lemonaide - it tastes like the starbucks one. we are trying to give up soda, so everyone is loving it. get you a 2 qt mason with the spout, it gets so much colder for your tea. You can also make some great sun tea. love your content
Wondering if you would consider still putting up the weight watchers points. It works for me as well as being mindful of my protein. I love your recipes.
As much as I would appreciate this too, it is a lot of extra work to double track and Lauren is a busy momma. ❤ I enjoyed watching the recipes and thinking "I wouldn't have to count that!" and "that's zero for me!".
I’m so jealous that you still have some of those coconut pods! I’m desperately waiting for them to come back this year! Those are by far my favorite Nespresso pods
if it is still possible can you post points as well with the calories and protein I seen other RUclipsrs do this as well just wondering if not I understand thanks

Would you stay on my fitness pal ?
Do you have your MyFitnessPal name so we can friend request you?
“Lose It” is a great Calorie counting app also! And cheaper on the premium version than MFP. 😊Excited to see your new progress!

I'd love a Creami but I know it would ruin my diet completely! LOL
You might want to lower your carbs because protein keeps you satiated and carbs keep you hungry 😋 just a thought
I’m not tracking carbs. Just calories & protein right now.

Hi Lauren happy Monday afternoon and I hope you having amazing day today and this was amazing video I enjoy your channel because you are amazing
Thank you! You too!
@@LaurenMJansen likewise you enjoy your day today ❤️
What a great idea with the eggs and veggies with sweet potato fries!
I just switched from WW to calorie counting last week! I was simultaneously burnt out and not seeing results. 😅
I love my creami! Try keeping the lid off your ice cream pint for the first 12 hours in the freezer to avoid the bump.

Hint on the Creami - to get rid of the icy texture, add 2 tsp of pudding mix to ur base. Makes it so smooth and creamy.
Was just coming here to say the same thing 🙂. Also if you can’t finish it you can put it back in the freezer and spin it again the next time you want it.
Thanks for the tip! I just bought one but haven't used it yet. I'll be sure to add 2 tsp of sugar free instant pudding mix .
Yes, we tried the sf jello pudding mix in chocolate fair life milk for the girls ice cream and it was great!
Bottom line, you've got to eat REAL UNPROCESSED NON GMO. FOOD & FRUITS & VEGGIES & STAY AWAY
from BIG FOOD & BIG PHARMA. ❤🌠
Have you ever watched Nikki Gets Fit ???

Check out Nikki Gets Fit. She uses Fitness Pal along with WW and really focuses on high protein. She might be just the change-up of ideas you need!
she's awesome!
Nikki is a great content creator!
Me too.Please help!

I’ve just switched to c/p also. The planning and figuring what to eat when has been fun. 🤪
A little more freeing I feel!
I’m so jealous that you still have some of those coconut pods! I’m desperately waiting for them to come back this year! Those are by far my favorite Nespresso pods
So good! I was gifted them from my mom who got rid of her Nespresso! Had no idea they were seasonal and now I’m sad I went through them 😂
For the creami, you can add cottage cheese to increase protein and it gives the ice cream a thicker texture
Ooh that sounds good! I bet a cheesecake flavor would be delicious! Do you blend the cottage cheese first?
I have a Nijia Creamy too and I love it!
It’s so fun! My kids are having a ball with it!
So happy to hear your switching up the plan 😊
Thank you!! 😊 change is hard, but I can tell I need a new challenge to stay invested in my progress
if it is still possible can you post points as well with the calories and protein I seen other RUclipsrs do this as well just wondering if not I understand thanks
