I had a '74 dt100, $549.00 for 13th birthday. Burned a hole in the piston. Had it bored with new piston, light porting, expansion chamber, and proper carb jetting. That thing woke up and would top out 65-70mph. Loved that bike, wish I had it now to restore.
I saved up my money and bought that same bike in 1975 for 575.00 including PA sales tax. I had my best memories riding our bikes with all the kids in the neighborhood. Then the cops started breaking are balls and kept given us tickets because they weren't tagged and we were under age. I was thirteen years old. That's when my dad made me sell it. Because of all the fines. Just brings back good memories. Good to see the bikes are still around.
Same here - I had the green one, one year later. Now I bought one just like that for grins, and as a pit bike for when I am racing cars. So many guys in the 40s to the 60s stop me and smile.. brings them memories, and just love it when I say "I bought it to use it - take it for a spin!"
@@runningcreekcustoms5265 I agree.....look at the clear fuel line.....kinda pinkish color fuel, no dark green oil color as it should be......Poor engine aint gettin no erl, and no smoke at all as you said.............a slow torturous death. I cant bear to watch it......Im gonna have nightmares!
+Keelan Coates I've heard the second hole was originally designed for a decompressor. My understanding was that a second spark plug could take the place of the decompressor and could be used as a spare in case you were to foul a plug while out riding.

Rode that little rattler all over the place. Tons of memories
I had a 75 DT100 back in 75.

My parents wouldn't get me one for that very reason. Made me resent them big time...the injustice of it all. I never recovered.

Una Belleza lo tengo una Operativo
La invidia dañan las Imágenes eso no nos asustan
Sounds like maybe a piston wrist pin is wearing out, or maybe a main bearing, or just plain ole piston slap from a worn piston?
Sounds to me like its not getting two stroke oil and being lubricated. Also why its not smoking at all.
Worn small end bearing more than likely, that or piston slap.
@@runningcreekcustoms5265 Or he is running that piss-poor Ethanol gas........only Non Eth + Marvel Mystery Oil + top quality 2 stroke erl in my bikes.
@@american0153 Now thats a well-tuned ear you have........pegging it to the small end bearing, and you are most certainly right.

how speed this bike?
Why is there 2 spark plugs and only one wire

+Joseph Merrill neat! I'm trading an old car for a 79 dt100
+Keelan Coates Awesome! They are really fun motorcycles.
Is it air cooled or liquid cooled?Whats the top speed of this bike?
It’s air cooled. Does about 50 - 55
@@american0153 50-55mph?
I had one it could go 60 mph.
It's a 2 stroke ... I don't think you know it needs Oil
it has an autolube oil pump and reservoir. the oil and gas mixes in the carburetor.
Porque traen 2 bujías
I wonder about that too, I got a '75 mx100
