Try letting them all out from the trap door & put a tray with water on the landing board so they can have a bath
so once they all wet they wont over fly
Let them hang out on the landing board/roof for awhile, then call them in... see how they go

They won’t leave 😂. It’s good for them to go out and fly, u have the upper hand. Just whistle and pour food where they usually eat. No need for u to worry. Especially if they haven’t flown in other lofts

Keep your spirits up Kurt, you threw us a curveball by letting all the birds out altogether but credit to you for having the courage to do so. I had a feeling about Adam archer's birds being good.
You have a lot of good birds but they are just lazy and that's because you take such care of them.
Don't let the work knock your plug in mate, you give us great entertainment and a lot of us can help give you a little advice too though ( even though I have never had birds myself I've had a wealth of experience working with them)..
Get some more videos up, we are here to support you and anyone who is negative can go to another channel !!

You can lift the trap wires and let them go out through the trap on the roof. I'm very happy to see you letting them out. You should let them out frequently. I wish you had an old pigeon to guide them that always works so well!

Kurt, one mistake you made is calling the birds in constantly without putting food in the loft ... that’s an issue because the birds will no longer associate the whistle with “feed” 100% of the time.
You need to ensure that EVERY single time you call the birds in, you at least pour some seed even if it’s just a very tiny amount of seeds

  • @felixfranco

Great job buddy they finally went out and you were successful in getting 19 out of 20 back in. All of your pigeons are getting to know the area and they are imprinting on it, I watched a documentary a while back wi the professional racers and one of them used the method of letting them roam around his land before he started flying them. I do agree that instead of the front door you could use the trap door that they are learning to use. Keep it going.

    For Beginners out there.
I would muchly tell that pigeons comeback if you take care of them with love.
Before you let a young pigeon out to train. The pigeon must be viewed to it's place so it can know where they live or tape long feathers and let them out. Pigeons can't fly if their long feathers are removed or taped.
You can only do this method if the pigeons are properly viewed. Then after 5days or 1week you can remove the tape . But if you removed the long feathers well it can take 1month to grow depends but still you can let them view your place , most likely the pigeons will get used to it. If your pigeons are on the ground usually on the roof or some high places. Don't scare them , just let them see the place. If they flew then let them be. Until they grow old they will be really used to it's place.

It's there first time out mate . You don't want them all flying around you want them on the ground. Just keep letting them out they will start to fly soon don't stress and don't keep them locked up for longer . They did well even though you let them all out together that was your only mistake . Just keep doing it trust me within a week they will be doing laps around the block

From my experience. Having trees near your loft is always a bit of a challenge for young birds at first. Also, it might of been easier if you just removed the viewing box and let them out from the trap doors right onto the roof of the loft. That might of helped a bit, but no worries. You have good birds. They all will be just fine. Happy flying!

@@ManeyPigeons you had them trained to exit loft via trap , and coming back in also , the birds got the hang of that very quickly. the birds are also used to the internal sliding door to enter avary . i think once you let them out via the avary they got confused a little .

@Lacie Leon in the uk , we would let the young birds take a bath before letting them out . this keeps them heavy and on the loft roof/landing board . after a week or 2 , they wont need the baths , just let them out and go for a fly with crossed fingers .

  • @batangxmakina6096

Try to give them all a bath first. When they are wet put them all on top of the roof or landing board for viewing at the same time while getting dry. Who knows they might fly around or go in after they're dry off. That's my tip.

Kurt, finally the birds are out :-) Don't worry there's always a first time. Just my opinion, I reckon the best way to let your birds out is via the door trap instead of the front door. With the trap you put on top of the green landing board...may be make a door from the front...once they're all there then open the door from the trap and let them out that way at least for the first couple of times so they get use to it. As you've been training them several time already by getting them flying out from the door traps which they're already familiar with. Just a suggestion...hopefully all your birds will make their way back to the loft soon. Looking forward to see Part 2...Good Luck Mate and fingers crossed.

Yesterday a falcon came right down on my pigions as I was feeding them outside,, MY head was to the ground And so were most of theirs eating,. Somehow they saw it and when one moves they all move so no one got grabbed... In fact I honestly believe that when I feed them there's always some that intentionally stay at the periphery of the eating circle who act as lookouts... The lookouts aren't STUPID or lazy and the flock isn't stupid or flighty , they know exactly what they are doing....The falcon was beautiful and not scared of me at all.. I think he wanted me to Feed him too as he just sat there for like 5 minutes on a bush Like 3 feet away from me.

You should have done the soak method. That one is tested and proven. Place them into the landing board first which they're familiar already.. They're not familiar yet using that exit door, when they went out they felt like they're on a total different place. Also don't let them chill on the grass, remind them that it isn't allowed because they will get used to it and in the future you'll have a hard time calling them in.

Keep pigeons in the loft so they will follow them to get inside. They are use to your whistle keep whistling, they will understand this is home. I suggest you let the young birds out first and leave the elderly inside untill the young ones are settled
