    Just bought these, and they are damn perfect! The looks, and the sound, are just on another level. I have never heard anything like these speakers. Plus they are designed and build like an Eames Lounge chair; the slick looks, and the maximum amount of quality and comfort whilst using. Just like my Lounge, I will love these platinums for ever and ever!

    What IS the better speaker between monitor audio gold 100 5G and monitor audio Platinum pl100 II. ?

  • @LordVictorHalgaard
    @LordVictorHalgaard 4 года назад +1

    I do think the Mk 1 version is more iconic; they toned down the look and sound a bit for the mk 2, but I do think they are exceptional, none the less!

      maybe look at their gold speakers which offer a similar sort of sound and look but at about half the money ;)

    Most tempting pair of speakers. Unfortunately, they cost a bomb here in Asia. About GBP5k.
    How would you compare the PL100 vs say the Gold 200?

    These and the floorstanding version is the first real high quality speakers I really saw and heard in person, they really blew me away with the sound, absolutely awesome but at $7,499 AUD and $16-19,000 AUD for the floorstanding models, sadly WAY outside my budget. Maybe if I saved for years and years I could perhaps buy the bookshelf speakers but that price is Plus about another $1,200 AUD for the stands :'(

      The atcs are incredibly detailed and clear sounding,but also extremely fast.
      Monitor audio pl100 ll on the other hand are more pleasant to the ear,especially for long listening sessions....

      Ive not seen them on walls though perhaps they could, they are VERY HEAVY, really quite large speakers, it would want to be an incredibly strong bracket.

      comparing to a book shelf like the Bowers 705 S2 speakers they come over faster and more nimble - especially in the bass.
      But the Bowers dont have the bass scale or harmonic content so its not they are better speakers its just a comparison I am using

    Although you sound like you know what your talking about bass accuracy depends on your source material and electronics and let’s not forget room acoustical treatments,so don’t condemn these speakers in there bass capabilities,your wrong on that

    Nice speakers and I’m sure the build quality is great, but the plain truth is that numerous double blind test results do not lie. However, placebo affected listeners almost always do. Double blind tests have conclusively proven over multiple decades that given a typical $300 pair of speakers with average electronics versus a set like this, 99.999%+ of humans would not be able to tell the sonic differences between the two sets of speakers given the same source material played at the same decibel levels from each set up. Them’s is the facts kids, despite what the placebo influenced BS artists try to claim! 😁😁😁😁😁😁

    • @PursuitPerfectSystem
      @PursuitPerfectSystem  5 лет назад

      go look at the work done by Dr Floyd tool at Harman they studied years of blind tests on speakers and people always could tell the difference between different speaker (s) singular as they tested singular speakers to make their tests even more accurate. I understand what your trying to say but it's not the case. Plus it's all irrelevant as every one listens to their hifi sighted so any blind testing only holds merit if listeners only ever listen to their systems in those exact conditions- think about it

    • @dorningarts
      @dorningarts 5 лет назад

      LOL!!

    • @PursuitPerfectSystem
      @PursuitPerfectSystem  5 лет назад

      @@dorningarts think about it. If it takes a blind test to remove sighted influence and bias, just having done a blind test doesnt make you immune to sighted influence and bias. In fact as soon as you listen sighted all the bias and influence is just the same as before the blind test - making the blind test pointless unless you only ever listen to your system completely blind and noone ever does that. For other uses yes it makes sense but in domestic hifi blind testing doesnt make any sense it's what you hear everytime you listen is what's important because that's the bit you enjoy or dont enjoy for all the factors involved
