I agree with you, he has something surreal, of an universal beauty, very troubling. Also his personality and caracter is somehow special. Probably we will talk hundred of years about him, independently from his film success. Some people say he looks very masculine, some see him as feminine. Mostly because of his eyes, which are unique in the expression and in some way in a feminine shape - as I read (according to the definition and geom. proportion).
As Alain said once about himself, he is an ARTIST, not an actor. Naturally charismatic super talented - truly a gift given by God. And he gave Alain such a masculine beauty. I have never seen such a handsome man as him, ever. Forever Alain, if he could only know how people adore him till these days ❤️
Delon's character is like a human puppy in this film 😭 he started out with a heart so pure only to be confronted with the ugliest sides of the world so fast and so soon.. I wish he had taken more roles like Rocco, of softer, kind-hearted, but complex and tragic individuals. I remember reading an interview where he was saying that he basically played a saint in Rocco and His Brothers, adding that this character is very different from who he is as a person. I think that may be part of the reason why he shines so beautifully playing him.
Beautifully put! I completely agree. I adore his softer, more sensitive side explored in roles such as Rocco. His innocence and self-sacrificing nature made it all the more heart-wrenching to witness his brother's betrayal. This ranks high among Alain's strongest, most emotionally complex performances. 🤍

just finished watching it today. August 21 2024. Long movie almost 3hrs. definitely one of the best movie of Alain Delon. This movie is about Brotherhood and Family. Y’all should watch it. 💯💯

Hmm, i am definitely going to have to watch this one- his beauty leaps off the damn screen. It doesn’t matter how many pictures i see of this man, i NEVER get tired of looking at him. To add to the comments below- he has feminine traits/beauty but his demeanour/character/way of presenting himself is more of a cocky swagger and maybe a bit of a dark streak (if you look at his more candid shots). Masculine in personality, feminine in looks is apparently the winning combination, and rare.
