    Good Idea, I use a hairdryer to warm the scales and remove them. Knowing the safe temperature is helpful to know. 👍

      care is needed, don't overheat the scales. Anyway, this method can work as well. Thanks.

      I would rather use your method. I don't like submerging my knife in water. that's just asking for the interior to rust.

    i don't know why someone does not create an aluminium scale plus...and removable pins to clean your sak....😢

      @nikgyver7  7 месяцев назад +2

      There are alu plus scales in the market,for example swissbianco made some plus alu scales.It doesn't make sense to destroy the original pins, you can clean the swiss army knife very easily. Thanks.

    What do you do with the models with LED? Water is certainly not good for the LED. Best regards

    • @nikgyver7
      @nikgyver7  6 месяцев назад +2

      Good question. The scales with electronic parts are covered by a water resistance film, but it is not recommended to submerge them in water, as is the LED flashlight. In this case, the scales should be removed without submerging them in water.Perhaps they could be warmed slightly and carefully with the hair dryer.Thank you.

    That is the way I do it with knives. The only difference is when I'm putting new scales on I soak the new scales and the bare knife in warm water again. Also, I don't have a vise so I use some channel lock pliers with cardboard.

      I didn't need to reheat the scales because I replaced them in a very short period of time. If they have cooled, it is a very good idea to reheat the scales, thanks.

    I've seen a video (last week) about doing that. I think it was Felix Immler's video about how to remove the scales.
    And I think you've also seen it

      This technique has been known for a long time, you will find many videos available about it. As I said in the video, I said that I knew this technique but I did not present it because I had not tested it. Felix is great and mentions that he learned this technique from someone else. Thanks.
