the problem with crit rate food when doing comparison is that we can't use it in spiral abyss-while the reason why/how we build characters is to beat spiral abyss. so, that's kinda unrelatable at some point.
Neuvillette is an amazing character. He’s good at C0 and his third BIS is a craftable weapon, making him very F2P friendly. He’s also easy to build because of his ascension stat being CRIT DMG and scales on HP, meaning you just need to work on getting his CRIT rate up enough to do it consistently 👍

I have R1 Lost prayer and R5 Prototype amber, from what I have been testing Lost prayer eventually becomes better for most builds, as it would delete completely crit rate needs on his set (it is like 74% with only his fully activated set and lvl 90 weapon), after that if you are not running him with Xaingling or something like that you should just search for hp% and crit dmg sub stats, with a little energy recharge that could be just an unleveled stat on the artifact sub stats alongside with crit rate for going as near to 100% as possible. It is really easy because of his ascension stat to gain crit dmg, which gives even more value to that crit rate from the weapon itself.
With the full team, Prototype dealt more dmg. The lost prayer damage will increase though for the next charged attack, but don't look at the numbers, it all depends on your stats and situation to decide which weapon is better as I mentioned in 2:13

Neuvillette's damage scales off Max HP. That should have been one of the baselines for this comparison. Having over 30K hp with amber versus 28K hp with Lost Prayer tipped off the balance in the test.

Of course prototype amber is still a really solid option and Neuvillette performs very well on it, but if you have lost prayer, I would highly recommend using it on him
if the damage is negligibly different just use prototype amber the energy is really useful and you also dont run a healer with neuvillette usually so the little bit of healing helps out too

The weapon will heal the team and the Furina's passive will also heal the team when Neuvillette absorbs its three drops and is full life
Actually i think they are both close LOST prayer is a lot better for Crit ratio and helps when building him+ you get free hydro damage and he is a lot on field so i'd say LOST prayer is pretty much better

Yeah lost Prayer provides crit value but you should also consider your Artifacts. As I said in the video, if your Artifacts have lots of crit rate and/or less ER, going for Prototype would be a better option. I dont think its worth it to have neuvillette use prototype amber and have a crit ratio of, lets say, 150:40. Not everyone will be able to achieve high tier crit stats. It sounds like Protoype holds more flexibility for building Neuvillette early on! But would it be worth it to switch to Lost Prayer when you have enough Crit DMG value from his artifacts? I'm wondering that because I have a lvl 90 R5 Prototype that I was using for my Baizhu, and a lvl 60 Lost Prayer just collecting dust in my inventory :')
if you want to use lost prayer just go for another set. Since as you said, the crit would just be unnecessary. I recommend 2pc Hydro DMG Bonus, 2pc Marechausee or HP% artifact set bonus. Personally, I use 4pc Heart of depth with lost prayer with 29k hp and it works quite well.

Well, with Furina now available it is really good to go with a healer, specially Charlotte who can go well with a freeze team for Neuvillette.

if you have los prayer. your aim is 4 substats ready purely HP and crit.dmg on artifacts
it is 36(MH)+33(LP) = 69% + 5% (all chars) = 74% crit with no artifacts stats. You need to only rolls on 3 stats HP, CDmg, and some ER.
