Good reaction. I might not be the best judge of what's funny, as I find things like Jackass and Monty Python funny. But it's interesting glimpse into Japanese culture to see what entertainment is watched there. I love the crazy game shows they have in Japan, I was a big fan of Beat & Takeshi's Castle.
I think many Japanese people who are bilingual in English often say they are more casual when interacting in an Enlgish environment, and modest when in a Japanese one. I'm not sure what it is because their all types of people in either society. I can't tell a difference in me when talking in either language with regard to reservedness, but maybe from the outside it's perceivably different.
Language effects how you think, it's possible for whole different social behaviors to be uncoinciously paired with a language and for you to slip into them as soon a change languages, almost like a second personality.
