Na minha humilde opinião, essa série só perdi para ETERNAL LOVE OF DREAM, que eu já perdi as contas de quantas vezes já assistir, é muito linda, não sei se você já assistiu. Conta a história de DongHua Dijun e Fengjiu, um deus mais velho e a princesa Feng Jiu, que se transforma em raposa de nove caudas, com a Dilraba Dilmurat e Vengo Gao. A química dos dois é impressionante.

@@shontelagrone9537 Shiyi's age was mentioned at the time of their first meeting - 15, but Lingyi never. Given the current time confusion on the show, I tend to think that Shiyi was barely 17 at the time of her marriage. It's not just about how old she is, it's also about how old he is. From my point of view, he is 15 years older than Shiyi, i.e. actually twice. Given his life experience, he rightly believed that this marriage would be a huge disaster. His marriages with women who are much closer to him in age did not work out, but here, from an age point of view, she is actually a child. Therefore, there is nothing surprising in his reverent attitude towards Shiyi, when he fully understands what an unexpected chance he had.
@@Irynash11 I remember him telling Yuanniang that it wasn't appropriate for him to marry Shiyi. It turned out to be the best decision he's ever made. She changed his life for the better....not to mention the entire Xu family. Yuanniang's desire to protect her by having Lingyi marry Shiyi worked out better than anyone expected. Yuanniang didn't consider Lingyi or Shiyi's well-being...she only cared about Zhun and the Luo family..she unknowingly gave them the best present in the world....each other.
Finally I knew Shiyi was going to have to make the first move. He loves her so much but he was really hurt by her mistrust. He suffered a great deal. She was going to have to step up/tell him how she truly feels about him. His reaction was priceless. The realization that she wanted to be with him...was so overwhelming for him. He's waited a long time to embrace her. Now she's letting him know that she loves him too. He doesn't have to wonder if it's love or gratitude anymore. He knows now that she loves him too. The little tear strolling down his face when it finally dawns on him that he finally has the life that he wants was heartbreakingly beautiful. I can't get enough of these two.
Concubine Wen is going to lose her mind. Why does everyone blame Shiyi for Lingyi's actions? She's blaming her because she didn't get laid on her birthday. It was his choice to walk away from her. Shiyi had nothing to do with his decision to leave. If she put forth an effort to get to know him instead of using the Xu name to enrich her maiden family then he might've given her a chance. It was her scheming/plotting that drove him away. It had nothing to do with Shiyi. Now she wants to make her pay for something she has no control over. If she tries to go after Shiyi...she's going to have the same ending as Lianfang. He doesn't play when it comes to his wife.
Lingyi is so happy right now. He has everything he's ever wanted...the way he's playing with her face as she sleeps. The kisses he gave her to prove that she wasn't dreaming was endearing. He is so content. They're finally together.

Like others, Wen is very similar to selfish teenagers who, when they do, consider themselves adults and cool. But when you need to be responsible for the consequences of their actions, they immediately turn into little children and try to shift the responsibility onto others. They generally do not perceive Lingyi as a person capable of making independent decisions, but only as a controlled object. This is the biggest mistake on their part. Shiyi is wrong; she is a human being like the others. But unlike everyone else, she takes responsibility for the consequences of her actions; she is much more mature than the same Wen. Blaming others is always easier than taking responsibility for yourself. If you accept, then you need to admit that you were wrong; you need to learn and change. And you don't want to do this. I think that they do not even understand what the problem is, their upbringing and education does not give them an initial base, and not the desire to face the truth and analyze the situation only aggravates everything. Surprisingly, Shiyi is the youngest and inexperienced among the entire harem, but the most adapted to real life, the most consistent with her husband in intellectual and spiritual terms. And you're right, they don't want to understand what an attack on Shiyi could mean for them. Lingyi will never forgive anyone for attacking his wife, especially not now.
You are right, Lingyi is getting the life he always wanted. Before marrying Shiyi, it was a pipe dream. Then forced marriage presented an unexpected gift - a smart, kind, understanding wife, ready to share the burden without demanding anything in return. And most importantly, she sees him as a person, not a source of wealth and status. I understand and sympathize with his pain, but I think at some point he forgot that Shiyi is very young and capable of making mistakes (she behaved too reasonably, calmly and independently during all family crises). Another nuance that he missed was what prompted Shiyi to marry him. He should have thought about it, considering her behavior and the nature he had encountered in the beginning. I think he just suddenly got something he never hoped for, that he just forgot to think about it (a kind of intoxication).
You are absolutely right, it is Shiyi who must show that she LOVES him, and not grateful or sorry. It is especially important for him now. You can see how he makes the old mistakes, making assumptions about her feelings and thoughts before listening to her. His reaction to the question about Wen is a perfect demonstration of this. You can see how it closes after hearing this question. No wonder he's so shocked when he realizes the truth. He nearly lost what he most wanted in this life. He is really happy when he sees her peacefully sleeping in his arms. He has been waiting for this for so long that he needs confirmation all the time - this is not a dream. Even a hand frozen in the air, until it meets her gaze, conveys his expectation and a slight note of disbelief in his own happiness. Zhaoing is very lucky that he is far enough away, because his master absolutely does not want to go to the service. Shiyi still managed to make him even happier in the morning when she invited him to move in with her (lol didn't even have to break the windows).
@@Irynash11 I think that's the difference between Shiyi/most of the women in the Xu family. She takes responsibility for her actions but everyone else pushes the blame on her. Wen is turning into Lianfang at this point. She really believes if it wasn't for Shiyi then he would've stayed with her. The man stopped visiting her a year ago because he saw the truth with his very own eyes. She was bartering for favors instead of mourning Yuanniang's death. In the past Lingyi just went with the flow/allowed his mother and Yuanniang to run the family. He just did what they wanted without any objections. That all changed when he met Shiyi. He started going against his mother's orders and prioritizing her needs. You would think the entire family would take notice of the changes and accept that Lingyi was now a man on a mission. I agree it's easier to blame someone else than to take responsibility. Shiyi took another road...she actually took responsibility for her actions. She worked hard to fix it even though Lingyi was giving her a hard time. She was patience with him/she didn't give up. She didn't try to place blame on anyone else but herself. She was even ready to accept punishment. She's a class act.
I agree. He forgot to take into consideration Shiyi's predicament. In the beginning Yuanniang chose her to be his wife but then Erniang stepped in and played her trick and things changed. Honestly she didn't have the best impression of Lingyi/she definitely wasn't going to marry that abusive bastard especially not for her family. Madame Luo didn't think about the ramifications of her actions..she thought that Shiyi was going to fall in line with whatever she told her to do. She completely ignored Shiyi's independent nature thinking that she had a right to control her. Lingyi had every right to feel hurt but he should've taken the time to understand Shiyi's reason for running away. He actually encountered her when she was trying to rent a boat to escape...lol the cruel irony.
Yes, he did make assumptions when she mentioned Wen. He definitely reverted back to his old mindset when he was making outlandish assumptions about her. Now he's doing it again. He didn't trust his judgement anymore especially after she suspected him of harming her mother. He told General Fu that they trust each other so when she started to suspect him instead of discussing things with him...his guards went back up. So he stopped trusting his instincts when it came to her. He started questioning everything but the minute he realized that he was wrong was priceless. He couldn't believe what he was hearing. He waited a long time for this/now the moment had arrived. She was telling him that she didn't want to lose him. She wanted to be with him. The shocked look on his face told it all. He couldn't believe what he was hearing. I love the afterglow. He was enthralled with her. Playing with her face while she was sleeping. He was in heaven. He woke up with the woman he loves in his arms. He finally knew that she loved him too. The perfect pair.

But not to escape, but to her distrust and the use of marriage for selfish purposes (although these goals were too far from traditional ones). I understand what drives his. At this moment, he does not remember the past and everything that led to this marriage. He only sees what he loses as a result of Shiyi's "gratitude". Really ironic. She told him once that a person with nothing to hide isn't scared to look someone directly in the eye. He's never going to let her go. He went from a part time husband to a full time lover...lol My girl is stepping up her game. She told him that she will wake up with him everyday/have breakfast with him and walk him out so he can attend court. She's not letting him go again.
I'm rewatching this now. I'm glad they took the time to get to know each and actually fall in love. He was hurt to learn that in the beginning she didn't want to marry him but he only married her because it was his dying wife's request. They needed the time to get to know each other for him to see she was nothing like his deceased wife or his scheming concubines.
