    I personally like the smith over the others. I bought one a couple of months ago runs great feels well built. I like the synthetic over the wood. Overall it's a nice solid gun that don't feel cheap

      I agree with you on all counts. I have no intentions of ever getting rid of mine. I happen to love the modernization/tacticalization of old school firearms.😎

    Me personally I don't really like these new tactical lever actions. I'm more a traditional wood and blue steel type of guy and I prefer the 1873 Uberti rifles they feel smoother because of the toggle link system. The older Marlins were nice too but I'm really liking the new Rossi R92. Henry rifles are heavier and feel bulky. For the price the Rossi R92 is the best but if you want to spend more money I highly recommend the Uberti 1873 clones.

      In many ways I'm a purist, especially when it comes to collecting...but when it comes to guns that I intend to use,, I want them to be pretty but I'm all about function. These polymer stocks don't swell or scratch (at least not in a way that matters) and they are weatherproof, as are its stainless steel parts. Also, as I get older, I'm gaining an appreciation for better optic choices, which the pic rail makes a breeze. So, I'm with you in spirit, brother, but I actually find this gun good-looking and highly functional...although I'm probably not putting a light or laser on it anytime soon.......but I do intend to suppress it!! Thank you for your comment.😎

    I would really like a new 1854, but I’ll wait until the brand new product gets past its teething problems first.

    I have a Rossi R92 357/38spl 16'' large loop with Rosewood great gun. Love it super fun to shoot. I added a peep site and a rail with a red dot. With all the upgrades I'm still under $800. You really get a lot of bang for your buck with Rossi. I like the look of the S&W But for the price tag I'd probably look at the Ruger/Marlin or Henry till it's a little more proven.

      The more I shoot the S&W (which I do like very much), the more I love my Citadel. I am right there with you, brother. The problem is, as a "Big-Time RUclipsr"😉, I can't help but play with new stuff and report on it. Thanks for commenting.

    Comparing an out the box vs a well fired rifle doesn’t seem practical.

      That's an excellent point and I am in full agreement. What struck me as odd was the "Trigger Wiggle" and I'm not sure that is part of the trigger breaking-in. I am looking into it more...ruclips.net/video/9A8EWK0ahpY/видео.htmlsi=kj4RGWyH_kn3Tp9b

    I don't know how the Smith & Wesson will feel like but it seems to be a copy of the Henry. I don't know if they will be as popular. I think most buyers are going to get a Henry.

      It has an interesting feel...they kind of mimicked the grip texturing off of their M&P line. It actually feels really good and the balance is spot on. I'm not saying that they very closely copied the Marlin 1895...but let's just say that all of the Marlin 1895 furniture fits it perfectly😉.

      The Henry is copy of the S&W from 1854. Duh!!!

    • @DrTac
      @DrTac  Месяц назад

      @@Rustebadge Actually, my understanding was that Winchester is the spin-off of the Smith & Wesson (Winchester bought the patent from Smith & Wesson), and Henry was then a spin-off of Winchester.

    Ok doc answer me this I put 60 rounds thru my 1854 and it started jamming up on me were the lever wouldn't close or open took out the magazine removed the rounds and got it to move cleaned it up and then put 10 rounds thru it and it did the same thing is it the lifter or the ammo or what? Seriously I'd like to know 🤗😁👍 don't want to send it back to them if I don't have to anyone chime in if you know what it is

      As much as I hate to say it...a gun that new needs to be sent back for repair and evaluation. Please let me know what happens. I'll be watching your comment carefully to see if any, more knowledgeable individuals chime in with better advice.
