I was interested in the RV-15, but based on Vans bankruptcy, and no information when the RV-15 will be offered. I'm going to build a Rans S-21. Engine prices are way too high so I'm looking at Viking engines. Avionics are expensive for IFR equipment. How people can afford airplanes and the time to build is a very high barrier for ownership. I admire your effort to continue the RV-14 build and the additional expenses.
Honestly, they hyped the rv-15 too early. All of the business issues aside. The 15 was still many years away from being sold. They made it look further along than it was and got a lot of people excited. Which is good, but they needed to be more upfront about it still needing 2-3 years before they would take orders. As far us keeping going, we were way too far long in our build to change. Only the finish kit and engine are a little more than we planned. And honestly it wasn’t that much more. So sticking with it was an easy decision.
As long as they will take my deposit I already gave to vans for my engine. No doubt the UL will be nice, but I’d need to see it flying for a bit and the install kits worked out before I’d be ready.
Love this! Amelia and Rivet are so cute!! You guys are blessed! Hope to see yall soon
She is amazing... Can't wait to get her to fall in love with flying!
She is adorable!! Enjoy these times.
Good to hear from y’all/I quit building also, but I will get started again and it will fly someday
We will get it done sooner or later.
Good to see an update! Enjoy that time with Amelia; the RV isn't going anywhere while she grows up.
We still can’t wait to teach her to fly in this rv.

You should look at the UL Power 520T as an alternate to the Lycoming...you would probably have it by the end of summer and more HP.

I foresaw this before the rivet issue. they are only small once.
She may be slowing down our build, but she is worth it. Actually the vans issues came at a good time for us. Made it easier to slow down.
