Hello sir...you are the bestest mentor I have ever CAME across in my 19yrs of life...you are my idol...each video of your gives big doses of motivation...feels goosebumps when I hear such struggles we r going to face in this journey.
Your content is always so encouraging to watch mate. As an IMG looking to match into a surgical residency in America, I cannot sufficiently express how inspiring it is to see that you've pulled this off. Thank you so much for guiding the rest of us.
Hi Sir, thank you for the video! I would like to ask, do you have your Step 1 and Step 2 score before finding the research position in Mayo Clinic? Thank you!
Thanks for the video! It answered so many questions I had, one of those was about the J1 visa for research, since I guess you can't apply to The Match after you are done with your research year if you have to go back to your country for 2 years. I always wondered how people did it. Do you happen to know where I can get a list of countries that wouldn't require the 2 years from the J1 after research?
@@thehandlez If you do research on J1 you can't as far as I know, because you have to go back to your homecountry for 2 years and can't go to the US for those 2 years. But he said that some countries have an exception to those 2 years. I would like to know which countries those are.
@@MalkeAsaad Wow, I didn't know there was such a thing as "different types of J1". I will look deeper into that, thank you very much! And also thank you very much again for your videos! As someone who doesn't have any connections yet, you being an insider who successfully went through the process is such a HUGE help and inspiration!
@@pabloneruda9890 Yes there is. All IMGs who are on J1 research continue with J1 clinical (sponsored by ECFMG) without going back to their countries for 2 years. The 2-year requirement is postponed in these situations.
You generally can't as J1 has specific requirements. Here is a video that discusses that 🎥How to find research positions: ruclips.net/video/iANYViXhnZk/видео.html
Very informative video Dr. Asaad! I have this question that if you have done, say 2 years of research in the US on J1 visa so after that do you need to go back to your home country for 2 years before being eligible for visa for residency? And secondly, what approach will you recommend to get a research fellowship position as an IMG?
You can do clinical J1 after research J1 without the need to go back to your home country You can follow the approach in this video🎥How to find research positions: ruclips.net/video/iANYViXhnZk/видео.html
