- HWG just returned from its first international travel (Mexico) in some time. To fly into the United States you have to show a negative Covid-19 free test within 24 hours of your flight. We researched many different ways and found out that the self home tests do work with the airlines and the CDC for entering into the U.S. We used the iHealth Self-Test. Obviously you can't just show up with your home test to the airport...There are a few things you need to do for this to be valid. Check out our video showing the entire process for using the iHealth home test kit for entry into the United States of America. Here We Go!!!
***Please note that this video and testing was in March 2022. Guidelines and or requirements by the CDC or airlines could be subject to change in the future.
Other home kits such as BinaxNow can be used as well with a similar procedure.
Thanks for doing the research and testing for the rest of us. I hope you were able to travel. I look forward to seeing the first video of your Mexico trip.
Thank you not very many videos out there on this ! So appreciate
Thank you so much. We will bring these test kits with us on our trip to Canada and use them for the returning flight.
Awesome, safe journey!
Thank you for the video. I'm need to do it in 2 weeks when returning from Canada
IMPORTANT: As of 6/2/22, iHealth Customer Service indicated "We no longer have available seat capacity to take new orders for our iHealth Verified COVID Test Service."
Thank you for this video as I will be traveling internationally soon i found this video helpful. How did you schedule your telehealth appt? was it through iHealth or was there a different website you used? Any helpful info would be appreciated. Thanks again.
Yup, we bought the verified test through iHealth website. Then got an email to set up the appointment.
Heads up! I’m flying out of Cancun tomorrow morning and bought this test kit, but unfortunately the appointment service says sold out. I have an early flight and the lab at the resort closed early. Worst case scenario I’m going to try to test at the airport.
Good looking out, David. We hope it works out smoothly for you!
@@herewegooo For anyone leaving cancun and reads this, we got to the airport from our resort 2.5 house earlier than the flight, tested and got our results via email while waiting in the check in line. I would say it only added 10-20 minutes. The website says cancun airport has covid testing 6am-9pm everyday. Hope this helps someone! And thanks guys the video was helpful as well!
@@neoprimed I'm in mexico now so we can just test at the airport and get the result within the same hr? how much was the test?
@@rainydays4739 Hi! Yes, we tested at the airport and got results within 20 minutes. I believe it was 290 pesos which is around 15 dollars. This was Cancun airport btw.
@@neoprimed who did you fly with ?
Very helpful! Do you have the name of the actual website you used? I’m in Spain trying to get back to the US. Thanks!

One more question. Did you have to install anything (e.g. video conference app or browser extension) for the video conference?
They do have an app, but we didn’t use it. We used Google Chrome and it was fine.
@@herewegooo Can you use your phone for the test? We were not bringing a computer to Portugal.
@@danallen4228 Laptop only at the time we did the tests in early March
Hey hey! That was fun right? Bahaha. Anyway thanks for posting. Do you know if this test is ok for using for a cruise?
Unsure about cruise rules, but wouldn’t be surprised if they accepted iHealth verified test.
Where did you sign up for the video appointment? We have a bunch of these tests from the government provided and cannot find out where to schedule an appointment

Do you need to print anything for checkin, customs, cdc, etc?
No printing needed. They sent us a pdf file of the negative test that we showed to the airline at check-in.
@@herewegooo awesome, thanks for the datapoint :)
Did you have to make an appointment days ahead of time or just right after you paid?
We made our appointment the day before, but it seemed that you could do day of as well.
What’s the name of the app you downloaded or website you went to on your computer..

Anyone test in Portugal at a Farmacia? How was it?
Thanks for the video! Any problems presenting these results at the airport? How long was the wait time for the Telehealth person?
It was really easy when we did it. Got to check-in and flight attendant asked to see our results and we showed them the PDF that we got from iHealth and we were let through.
As for wait times, it took about 10-15 minutes after our scheduled time as there was a virtual line of others who probably had the same time slot.
Wondering how you booked the telehealth service? Thanks!
We just went to the iHealth website, purchased the verified test, and then they sent a follow up email to book your date and time. As others have stated, the earlier the better.
@@herewegooo We already own the kits so how do we purchase the proctor aspect?
@@danallen4228 It looks like the iHealth verified tests are currently sold out.
I booked the schedule , will I receive link to tele health ? Haven’t got any link from iHealth
You should receive an email with more info. Make sure you sent them you own correct email address, as one of us mistyped our email address and so had to do the process over again.
Hi,
Would it be possible to share the link where you signed up for the protured tests?
ihealthlabs.com/products/ihealth-verified-covid-test-service
They have been selling out pretty quickly, so you might need to check back
Thanks for making this video. Does your pdf show your DOB or passport number on the results? Just checking cause the CDC website says it requires (2) identifiers such as Name, DOB, or Passport number. Wish I wasn't so damn TYPE A..LoL. I just don't want to get stuck in Switzerland.
Yup, it had DOB and name.
does the pdf file says a laboratory-based Antigen test?
Not exactly in that exact wording but yes it indicates that it’s an antigen test issued by iHealth Labs, Inc.
After buying the Covid test kit do wil still need to pay for the test online
Yup, the verified test is an extra cost on top of the kit
Is there a way to do this on a mobile device or did you have to use a laptop?
When we did it back in March it was only availabe by laptop. Check out the other comments, as we believe Binax might offer verified tests via phone.
Is the kova test the same as the covid test?
Not sure what you mean
Does it absolutely have to be done on a laptop?
For iHealth yes, has to be a laptop. We did see people using a Binax test at the airport using their smartphone.
I’m astonished that the CDC didn’t plan this out better. We have huge laptops and I won’t be traveling with it on an international trip. I guess I’ll be buying the Binax tests. Thanks for your video!
Anyone did it on smart phone, android. Everything's done on phone with camera and muc. I don't have laptop..my hotel here in costa rica does have Computer ofr guests..stuck!
@@Ciminal9 when we did it, laptop was mandatory. Look into Binax tests for mobile capability
@@herewegooo this is super helpful info thanks
how do you make an appointment?
Go to iHealth website and look for verified test.
Which website are we going
We used this one - ihealthlabs.com
