Dezső Ránki dominates all the moods of the composer equally, skipping keys with precision and speed, and turning slow movements into hauntingly eloquent plays. Wunderschöne Interpretation dieser fein komponierten Tastensonate im lebhaften Tempo mit klar artikuliertem doch elegantem Klang des technisch perfekten Klaviers und mit möglichst effektiver Dynamik. Der zweite Satz klingt echt schön und auch beruhigend. Im Kontrast klingt der dritte Satz echt lebhaft und auch spannend. Wahrlich intelligenter und vielseitiger Pianist!
A juvenile, infantile, primitive, at the level of a secondary music school, performance of this brilliant, innovative sonata by Haydn. The pianist does not understand the noble chivalrous nature of music, primitive school staccato and accents on the main beats of the bar are used. None of the articulation slur written out by the author has been executed. The ingenious and absolutely innovative pedalization indicated by the author is ignored. Instead of the feeling of sublime and courageous music, there are some games of clockwork dolls. Shamefully. I’m sorry, but it’s the truth.
