Thankyou As for the 20:12 camp, i'm guessing they held it to force the enemy to loose obj or risk core dying/getting very low; putting them into a scenario where either decision they make is a bad one and could cost them the game; he held it there instead of immediately doing it because he was waiting to time it so by the time shrines activate, the knights would have reached the core or be close to it. I'd love to see a Video about all the supports. Specifically when to pick one over the other. Something like Lucio against AoE, Tyrande vs stuns etc. Obviously maps go into this as well. I ask, because me, playing for 3 weeks now, don't know shit about that xD.
As someone who plays a lot of support, I can give you a few tips, I'm only plat though. Malfurion: really good healing over time but pretty weak to dive unless you're perfect with your roots or have a lot of help from a bulky frontline. Reliably decent but usually doesn't amaze me. Tyrande: depends heavily on getting in AAs constantly to be at her most effective. So she'll tend to do better when there's a heavy frontline on the enemy team for her to keep shooting, but not one that can easily kill her for being aggressive like Garrosh. Deckard: haven't played since last nerf yet but overall great unless you have a dive team, he can't really catch up to them well enough from my experience. Really strong options against dive though with his humongous roots, slows, and heals. Lucio: is decent against AoE but not at all against burst damage, AoE or otherwise. Sound Barrier is pretty much your only tool there and it's on way too long a cd before 20 to work, if somebody gets hit by kel thuzad you just can't help. Brightwing: somewhat like Lucio, you trade most of the speed utility for spell armor and a nice cc. Even less burst mitigation. Stukov: more AoE healing so again pretty strong against aoe damage, but doesn't require your team to clump up as much which is very helpful especially against people like kael thas. He can also mitigate a decent amount of burst with his bio-kill switch which is nice. his w and e can be hard to use effectively but they can be devastating if you place them well. Strong but maybe a bit harder than most. Whitemane: great heals but little other utility. Kinda like tyrande as far as needing to hit things but she does most of her damage with spells so you don't have to expose yourself quite as much. There's obviously a lot more of them but for me these are probably the most reliable.
And to complete the list: Rehgar: reasonable healing, very good waveclear and damage (he can do camps fairly quickly). His mana can be difficult to manage in early but his talent level 4 solves the problem. His ult is ok but requires good timing to land properly and can't be cast on yourself (like Alex's gift of Life, but cheaper...). A solid choice on maps like tomb of the spider queen or infernal shrines. Kharazim: His healing falls a bit short so it fits with team with a lot of self sustain. Also his cleanse comes at level 16. Else he has great mobility, very good single target damages and an ult that can help blow any isolated target. He can also do camps well and very good overall utility. His mobility and damage is very good on BoE. Alexstraza: Very strong healing, decent waveclear. Her AoE heal is very strong but needs to be placed well to be effective. With her healing potential I like her on maps with objectives needing some sustain fights or where your map presence is important like Tomb of the spider queen or Garden of Terror. Both her ults and her dragon form are very strong. Uther: Very good burst heal and good damage mitigation but long cooldowns and terrible mana costs. He can fit into blow up compositions where his stun can follow up the setup and he can burst heal to keep the team alive long enough to either take the kill or disengage. His ult is very good also to protect your diver long enough to get the kills you need. But in the current meta other supports can do the same things better or at least without the mana problem he has. Ana: Very, very strong at the moment. Her heal is a skillshot so you'll need practice to land it well enough but then your heal is huuuuge. Her grenade with a -100% heal debuff is super strong (if not OP) and key to your team's success. Her sleep dart is also very powerfull to either setup or escape but quite hard to land. And a well timed nanoboost is also a very powerfull tool for your team. You will need to constantly look for safe aa to heal yourself though. Tassadar: He is more a side support like medivh or abathur than a true healer. Great waveclear, good damage, shield, survivability etc. Lili: A lot of heals, she can blind (and slow after level 4) opponents with a fairly low cooldown, her trait gives her decent escape. I like her very much to counter a team with a lot of aa damages (raynor, valla...) or needing aa in their self sustain mechanics like Illidan or twin blades varian for instance. her weakness is the fact that her ult is vulnerable to cc and the fact that you can't really decide who gets your heals. Auriel: She has good utility overall and potentially unlimited sustained healing if given enough energy. I don't know her very well unfortunately so I can't give more details. Morales: Very good single target healing and damage mitigation. Her grenades are also good to disrupt channeling actions and split the ennemy team. She has low mobility though and can be quite vulnerable against diving ennemies. Also her single target heal makes her struggle against AoE, burst or sustained poke damage from a Hanzo for instance.
Personally i don't find the lack of Sadism a problem, for Q build. If you can hit 3 people with Q, and complete the quest, the base dmg of Q (at 20), is around 650. With a standard sadism of 90%, it's around a 1300 dmg with a single hit (and i've seen in the video that this build makes ~1000, using both shots of E, at 20). Maybe the problem is that at high levels is hard to hit 3 heroes with a single Q? Because in gold/plat i don't find it very troublesome.
Edit: actually is 1400 with E build and 117% of sadism (hitting in the center), so it's almost the same damage, but it's more situational (you need to hit in the center, as i said)
Can you make a video on how to lane properly? At silver lvl ppl seem to know that they need to lane but often get sidetracked when they have cleared a wave... usually ends up with them going to another lane to fight for a really long time and losing waves.
Maybe to give time to the enemy team to push with their camp in the top lane, so they would be further away and the camp would be more effective. Maybe he was even waiting for the bot lane to push ahead with catapults so the mercs wouldn't take unnecessary damage or be slowed by the enemy wave.
If this is a pro play of Alarak... I definitely want to become part of a 5 man comp. Idk if you have a team yet ... but I"m always down for practicing and learning as a team. Been dying to have it.
Could you do a why the pros play (or dont) on butcher? I like him but it's hard to walk the line of gaining meat fast but not losing it either. Love to hear your opinions on him

Dive is one of his main weaknesses. The counter-strategy is changing up your play style; positioning less aggressively is key. Bait them into diving your team, and then hit them with combos when they've blown their cooldowns.
well that's your opinion. if you know alarak you know his personality leaves no room for mediocrity. alarak is the highlord of the tal'darim and hes a carry at heart, he will do best when hes dominating the battlefield like hes supposed to.
Can you please play 1 match with the vikings? I think they are low tier by the looks of the comment section, but if you play a "casual" match, maybe that could work?
They're low tier mostly because of the tower/laning changes and the increase in stacking quests over the years, but on the right maps/vs. the right heroes in casual play, they can add a lot to a team comp. I'd love to see NotParadox play one, but until he does (I'm guessing he won't, since they get minimal play in ranked and essentially none in pro), you might want to check out one of Grubby's TLV games. He knows how to use them about as well as they can be used these days. (IIRC he had one on Tomb of the Spider Queen that got especially crazy after level 7 or so.)
Ilikeng There was no point of using it, they didn‘t engage because the enemy knew that he had unstoppable, so it‘s s king of „mind zoning ult“. If anub would‘ve engaged on him, Rich simply used counter strike to mitigate the cc and deal a lot of damage. Besides that, GenG had the upperhand all the time. The enemy team really didn‘t engaged in them, because of the blowup potential with Alarak W isolation + seven sided.
Thought it was worthwhile to mention that Alarak never used his heroic even once this game(unless he did in a portion of a game that you skipped). Says a lot about Alarak as a hero considering that the heroic ability is supposed to be a hero's strongest/most impactful ability for clearly isn't for Alarak,at least in high level game play.
Imo, it's one of the most impactful abilities in the entire game as it can turn the tide of a teamfight by itself. The thing is that it's a reactive ability not a proactive, you only ever use it if you're in danger or you can do something high level like countering a hanzo heroic.
Counterstrike can block many skills like cocoon, just not happened in this match. that is a big deal when you starting to set up the kill and enemy team try to stop you.
@@Fenlen I never said it wasn't a strong ability. However you can't argue that his most impactful ability is Telekinesis not Counter-Strike as that's his main play maker. Likewise situational abilities by definition are less useful than non situational abilities. Heroic abilities therefore should preferably not be situational abilities as they're supposed to be the pinnacle of the hero. Either way it's not like Alarak is alone in that regard, Kerrigan for example suffers from the same issue as do other heroes. It's just interesting to point out and to consider when it comes to the meta and balance of heroes.
It's a survivability button when they already had Tyrael and were winning hard the whole game. It's only natural that when you're never at a real risk of dying you don't need to press your survivability button.
They don't play him though? Yeah, Rich plays him, but that's because he's Rich. He could pick Gazlowe in HGC and win. Not to mention Alarak is a win more hero and Rich plays for the best team in the world, so...
Are you really allowed to tell us what OD teams are playing in scrims? I thought what happens in scrims stays in scrims unless permission is given to talk about it. Like when Khaldor released Lucio statistics from scrims and pros got upset/felt betrayed
I don't think your analysis of why they held that camp was accurate. I think they held that camp to make the enemy team choose between defending it and defending the the DK shrines. If they choose to defend the shrines, which is the only logical option, then that's free damage on the core, and if they don't defend the shrines, that's a win with the DK.
Gotta chuckle at the no drawbacks line. If that would be true he'd be picked constantly. The potential to screw up his combo is high, almost all talents have a caveat.
The main reason why I hate Alarak is because there is no way to escape his cc. His pull is an instant ability with no windup at all and you have no chance to avoid the silence afterward. So your only chances are to either be completely out of his range (which is pretty high and you won't be able to do that at all times) or to get an unstoppable buff right in time (which is kind of impossible to time correctly, as you can only guess what the opponent is thinking, but not actually read his mind). So in other words, you actually have to hope that he misses his combo. There is no dodging like against a Stitches hook or a Kerrigan combo. His E has quite a huge range, a strong slow with that talent (which is still kind of an ae slow) and has a selfheal that can easily heal him to full health in some fights. So personally I think of him as quite an overpowered hero and really wonder why so many people don't understand how strong his abilities actually are. They usually come up with arguments like "but he only deals half damage to minions", which is bullshit, as he deals normal damage to minions and HEAVILY increased damage to heroes, which is a huge difference.
He requires coordination to beat. Almost any tank will notice that he used his W offensively and therefore he has no escape and engage on him. Alarak is very vulnerable once he uses his combo. The biggest thing to be wary of afterwards is his Ult, which is very avoidable, even if it is triggered.
Wow never seen anyone cry like a bitch over such a high skill hero. He can’t lane against strong offlaners, dying resets his damage, easy to deny him E stacks. Alarak’s easy to counter, you’re just really bad at this game
@@denizekin1532 Yeah dude, we've just seen how easy it is to counter his cc chain :D And I didn't even claim his damage to be the strong factor. You make it sound like Alarak needs a lot of skill to play and even then is actually pretty bad because "he is easy to counter". Why would you even play that hero then? I guess you have to watch the video again and actually try to understand it instead of writing that bullshit.
TheIllio yes indeed alarak requires a lot of skill to play one of the highest skill ceiling in the game. And no I’m not saying he’s bad in any way, but you really can deny him stacks by positioning correctly. And if he doesn’t complete his Q quest or stack E quest he wont be that scary. But hell, feel free to whine and cry instead of trying to play better against a hero that punishes bronze positioning I guess.

Rehgar: reasonable healing, very good waveclear and damage (he can do camps fairly quickly).
Waited on mercs so that the waves would meet before the mercenaries got there, meaning mercs last longer. Nice.
Edit: actually is 1400 with E build and 117% of sadism (hitting in the center), so it's almost the same damage, but it's more situational (you need to hit in the center, as i said)
Yay, ma favorite hero!
Can you make a video on how to lane properly? At silver lvl ppl seem to know that they need to lane but often get sidetracked when they have cleared a wave... usually ends up with them going to another lane to fight for a really long time and losing waves.
what is the sight your using at the beginning or is that just your own numbers?
You could have shown his damage at the ending. Would help a lot to decide when to and when to not pic this build.
New suscriber here,love your content
10:29 what's up with that death notification
held the camp for counter pressure and to get vision when shrines coming up?
Maybe to give time to the enemy team to push with their camp in the top lane, so they would be further away and the camp would be more effective. Maybe he was even waiting for the bot lane to push ahead with catapults so the mercs wouldn't take unnecessary damage or be slowed by the enemy wave.
They waited in the camps to make the enemy deal with the mercs or the objectives. This gives them free core damage or a free DK.
Good video.
I would love to see a video dedicated to Samuro.
Love to hear your opinions on him
Bcs blind or CC destroy him. + Pros can rarely be singled out with his E charge. To charge with E is instadeath even in high diamond.
@@SolusBatty so..... so how do I do good?
Never Pick butcher. The Best tip on him you can get. Honestly man.
I have gotten so used to doing Q build but then they changed ruthless momentum and I'm sad
I still miss old other(his mana sustain) and old malf:(
last laugh doesn't trigger counterstrike, also NOTHING stops last laugh damage except for the conditions of dealing damage to the enemy, even D-shield doesn't stop it it's ridiculous
Did I miss the part where you why explain Rich picks another talent at 7?
alarak
hes the red one right?
*Before watching this video:*
Shouldn't the title be "why GenG's Rich plays Alarak"? :D
EDIT: okay that's basically what NotParadox is saying within the first minute. :D
EDIT: amazing explanation as always. That last laugh thing sounds crazy. I have to check it out in try mode. :D
The thing about last hope and counterattack doesn’t work put a note correction at the end of the video :)
You didn't remind how long it took for you to get to Masters. I started to forget...
Alarak is a hard carry character if your good with him. I'm lvl 150 alarak.
Did he ever press R..?
I know the answer
He is the coolest character in the SC ( alongside with Artanis )
Ooohh yea!
Last laugh does not trigger Counterstrike. Unless try mode is a liar
-24% sadism just by talents seems so bad. not to mention any other time you use lvl 20 it goes down even more. plus how do you use right of rakshir and cd reset at the same time, your combos have to take a few seconds, seems risky
Youre obviousky Bronze.
@@ondrejhabina7163 ha I'm diamond. Same thing tho so yeah
@@Chomusuke1 If you were Diamond you would answer your (pretty dumb) winkwink questions And remarks.
@@ondrejhabina7163 damn dude you're the living embodiment and representation of all the cancer and toxic players in this game...anyways I am diamond and I didnt get there by playing alarak either. Good day mr MLG
@@Chomusuke1 Am I now. Just because someone points out the obvious lie About your rank or maybe sheer luck by which you got There that is confirmed by the lack of knowledge you demonstrated makes one toxic? Okay then. If this is the rule then I am toxic by all means.

early af :(
nice video like always
When your teams alarak domaniting the game hmmmmmm.... acceptable
why does it take 25 mins to explain this??
my alarak cant deal with burst with dive combo.
Dive is one of his main weaknesses. The counter-strategy is changing up your play style; positioning less aggressively is key. Bait them into diving your team, and then hit them with combos when they've blown their cooldowns.
Finally!!!
Ty :)
Don't forget also that Rite of Rak'shir also gives 3% Sadism if u hit the victim with Discord Strike 😀
well that's your opinion. if you know alarak you know his personality leaves no room for mediocrity. alarak is the highlord of the tal'darim and hes a carry at heart, he will do best when hes dominating the battlefield like hes supposed to.
Fun fact: He didnt use a single counter strike all game.
I was sure pros dont play him, cuz he is high risk high adventage.
RIP
all you gotta do to make alarak more popular is crop his face super zoomed in and call him Kitty Cat.
@@arachnofiend2859 And you've missed my point entirely, congratulations.
16:34 I checked my bnet. jebaited
They don't play him though? Yeah, Rich plays him, but that's because he's Rich. He could pick Gazlowe in HGC and win. Not to mention Alarak is a win more hero and Rich plays for the best team in the world, so...
If you notice, he wasn't getting much winmore this game.
He barely recovered his sadism to 100% by the end of the game.
Que dices?
Are you really allowed to tell us what OD teams are playing in scrims? I thought what happens in scrims stays in scrims unless permission is given to talk about it. Like when Khaldor released Lucio statistics from scrims and pros got upset/felt betrayed
Alarak players seem to fall into two categories. Pros or Noobs with no skill variance in between.
Genji pls
Should call it "Why the Pros Ban Genji"
I don't think your analysis of why they held that camp was accurate. I think they held that camp to make the enemy team choose between defending it and defending the the DK shrines. If they choose to defend the shrines, which is the only logical option, then that's free damage on the core, and if they don't defend the shrines, that's a win with the DK.
Because he deals tons of damage, has silence, self-healing, slow, unstoppable, 2 dashes and is extremely snowbally with no drawbacks whatsoever
No drawbacks? You lose everything if you die. No-one else is punished as much on death.
Gotta chuckle at the no drawbacks line. If that would be true he'd be picked constantly. The potential to screw up his combo is high, almost all talents have a caveat.
@@yargolocus4853 That's why you go E build, not punished on death
@@Reiatsu0MKZR yes but you dont deal a ton of dmg with an e build you are just here for setting up kill (and harass)
inifite-e- build is so boring compared to going for Dive. live on the edge bois!
I’m shocked you have yet to make wtpp illadin or Genjie I feel like after u make one of those their win rate will rise
@@denizekin1532 Yeah dude, we've just seen how easy it is to counter his cc chain :D
And I didn't even claim his damage to be the strong factor.
Corpsefoot Gaming not an alarak main.
I don’t mind him getting nerfed at all I just don’t like people like these talking shit about heroes that they can’t play against.
can u make a d.va video
I play him because i like his play style.... does that make me a "Filthy Casuel"?
What pros? No such thing anymore..... R.I.P. Blizzard / HoTS
a lot of overanalysis imo but good vid
