Propagating Philodendron Xanadu - Offshot and Plant Division

  • These are how I propagated my Philodendron xanadu. The first way is getting the offshot from the mother plant and planting this in it's own pot. The second way is plant division. I divided the plant into two, I used a sharp cutter and made sure that there are roots that will go with each division.
    2 weeks have passed since the propagation via plant division and now new leaves are sprouting in my new Xanadu plants. The xanadus are thriving, yeyyyy! :)
    To more and more plants in our gardens, cheers!

      Hi Kate, I haven't done water propagation for xanadu so I can't really give an advice backed by experience. However, I was able to successfully water-propagate Philodendron erubescens and based on my readings philodendrons can be water propagated, so I suppose xanadu too.

    Nice video btw :))

    • @Penfires
      @Penfires  4 года назад +1

      Thanks, Dirk! Nice may nag grow na saha sa xanadu mo! :) Pag malaki na yung offshot, tanggalin mo muna yung whole plant sa pot nya (mother and offshot), and then iseparate mo yung saha by force or cut it away. Make sure lang na yung roots ng offshot will remain with it. Then irepot si mother, and ipot si offshot.
      *Puedeng di tanggalin yung whole plant sa pot but a bit risky, baka pag force-remove mo sa saha, walang sumama na roots.
      Gaano kalaki dapat yung saha bago iseparate? Mas maigi if yung offshot is at least 5 inches tall na, para kayang-kaya na nya sarili nya pag maseparate sya.

      Hi L W, Thank you for your advise, if my mom didn’t have 2 adult xanadus in her garden now I would be giving her the more stable plant. She doesn’t have a baby xanadu yet so I am rooting for this baby to get healthier and better so she have a small one, perfect for the console table.
      *I usually give her one or two from my own propagations even if she has the plants already so when we go visit my parents house, there is something from my garden growing there too.
      Thank you L for watching the video to the end, I really appreciate it.

      Hi Irene, naku, we can’t. It has to be English or mix with Filipino as Plant Box by Penfires’ aim is to be all-inclusive as much as we can.
      Example: When we were searching for tips paano iharvest and propagate ang Dorstenia seed, all we found are videos made by Thais and Indians, and they are speaking in their own language. Di namin maintindihan yung tips and sinasabi, ayun tuloy na waste yung 5 seeds ng Dorstenia namin, excited pa naman kami. Hence, English or mix is our video language choice as we aim to help as many as we can na mapadpad dito esp videos on tips and how-to’s.
