    My Dad is a pilot, so I've spent a significant amount of time spend in airplanes and in airports. This is so profoundly strange to see. This video will be a peculiar historical document someday, documenting this bizarre moment in history we're living through. Glad you made it home safe, and a big tip of the cap to the folks who helped get you there.

    • @dukeofhaas
      @dukeofhaas 4 года назад +1

      Our original comment was made to illustrate that during a typical onboard airline video (often the take off and landing portion of a specific flight) one usually hears in the background adults coughing and fussy kids crying. The fact that this background din is not heard on Adam's video only reinforces the notion that the plane is far from full and therefore we are all living in a creepy and historic moment in history. The coughing observation has nothing to do with the current Covid-19 pandemic...coughing is simply part of the background noise one usually hears during any commercial flight. We apologize if our original comment was opaque.

      The big problem are they still have international flights. But in general all passenger flights should have been grounded at the end of February.

    Glad you got back ok. That little “lightning rod” is a “static disperser” used to shed away static electricity in flight. Usually placed on the wing tips or near the fuel jettison outlet. Yes, a little turbulence is usually encountered in most clouds. It’s about the differing air density inside the cloud vs outside of it.
    Even right after 9/11, I’ve never been in a plane that sparse. Surreal.

      Cleaner planes, and probably less maintenance delays for the next year when things go back to normal because airlines have tons of time to get all the time consuming yearly maintenance done on their entire fleet. The usually have lots of planes out of commission for up to a month at a time for routine maintenance, painting, checks, etc. Normally they do all that on a scheduled rotation to make sure they have enough planes operational to cover all their flights. Now they can just service and do everything they need to their whole fleet with no issues. Every plane is going to be squeaky clean, fixed up, and looking brand new once this is over.

      Kevin Ball a lot of airlines are filling their passenger cargo bays with commercial cargo which is helping them stay afloat. Because there are so little people flying and so few pieces of luggage, many aircraft are able to take a decent amount of essential cargo like masks and respirators to various locations which not only helps cover some of the fuel cost but also helps to distribute medical supplies. Some international airlines are even filling the passenger cabins with cargo on the seats and in the overhead bins.
