Liz has really grown on me as a board gaming channel. It's also my personal tastes have changed to be more of a solo gamer. I'm glad I've grown to appreciate her.
Thank you for your reccomendations and overview videos!
During the quarantine i really got into solo-boardgames/rpgs and now after i've read and listened several reviews, yours included, jumped into TMB with the base game, Age of Tyranny and 40 days in Daelore. Had a blast with 3 short games, to figure out the game by myeslf, but also showed it to two of my friends, who enjoyed the game too. :)
Thank you!
Thanks for the video Liz I always think your content is great- clear and informative. I’m going to look into this game once I’ve finished my Gloomhaven campaigns- looks really good!
Even though it's an old video, it really helps me now that the French translation has been announced (Undertow & add-ons). Thanks a lot, Liz!
Extremely helpful and informative to us TMB newbies. Thanks!!
wow, this is the best review of a detail and kinda headache problem about too many bones and what's inside what with what goal. Thanks a lot, the mini-unboxing and detailing of each box helps a lot !
I've only recently got into boardgames in a big way, and Too Many Bones is definitely next on my list. Your video has helped me immensely on deciding whether to go for the base game or undertow (going for the base game). I play mostly solo too, so your channel is going to be most helpful.
Just about to buy into TMB. This video has been super helpful for managing a budget and get what I want. Thank you!
An excellent overview of an amazing game!
Awesome video, I want everything but this helps me decide in which order
Gotta catch em all!, oh wait wrong game :) Just bought the base box and a tray, can't wait to play....Great overview, thank you.
I’ve got it all and I’m so happy with it 😊
So helpful- thank you!
Exactly what i wanted to know, thanks a lot
I saw your pile. You need a treasure trove box completionist! Amazing game, one of my favorites.
irresponsible decisions are my jam
I've ordered most of the stuff available minus some of the characters. It all hits at once on Friday... about 80 pounds of fun on my doorstep.
I said the same thing when I mail ordered a little person to party with me
Just bought the core game. Thanks for the guideline Video.
As always very good content. I started following you since the how to solo mage knight series. Was wondering when you were going to cover too many bones since i just got it.
What a great video, thanks! Considering getting this game.
I'm biased, but honestly, I love it and it's still a 10/10 game for me.
Yeah, I appear to have skipped several steps and went straight to getting everything 😂
a fine choice. I'd do the same if I hadn't splurged on other board games, so I had to only get the base game, premium health chips, leather dice tray, and neoprene quest tracker.
Very very helpful, I ordered Undertow and can't wait; will definitely be purchasing more as they become available, this game sells out, but unlike other games or one and done kick-starts, this company continues to produce and improve... now that's a gaming system I'm willing to invest in and support.
I've been on the fence on this one since release. Thanks for another few data points. ;)
Thank you for doing this! It was very helpful.
Great overview, thanks! 👍
Hi Liz, given the new Kickstarter about to launch, do you plan to have an update to this video with the new content? I am considering the next Kickstarter and would be curious your opinion on the base box or playing stand alone.
I know I'll be doing something, but what exactly it is remains up in the air!
Hey Liz - love your videos and really respect your opinion as our tastes in solo games seem very similar (I am a big fan of both Hostage Negotiator and Mage Knight). Where does TMB currently fit on your personal top ten? I suspect Mage Knight is still #1, but does this beat Hoplomachus for #2 position (I’m referencing your top ten list from Dice Tower video)...
This is really helpful, thanks Liz! I’m leaning towards getting Too Many Bones so will probably start with base game. But I also saw your intro tutorial play through for Mage Knight. Which one would you say out of TMB and MK has higher replayability? Also, in Mage Knight are you just trying to better your own score or is success when you defeat the enemies in the city?
Both offer great replay ability and are on top of solo game lists for a reason. What game did you get?
I am trying to decide which game I want to buy for my staycation in a couple of months. I have narrowed it down(from a very loooong list) to the 7th Continent, Aftermath, The City of Kings, Fortune and Glory, Gloomhaven, Maximum Apocalypse, Forgotten Waters, Tainted Grail., TOO MANY BONES and Zombicide Black Plague. Also what is available at the time I can order will be a factor. I am looking forward to sitting down and really getting into a game that I can juspt play for pretty much a week straight. I plan on trying to play at least 4 hours a day. thanks for all your videos.
This sounds FUN. If you're planning on playing that hard, I would personally go for Gloomhaven (hours and hours of campaign play) or TMB (hours and hours of exploring multiple tyrants, Gearlocs, etc.). I'm not sure the others have that high level of staying power (although the whole list is awesome). Or, of course, you can get Mage Knight. ;)
Hi, a friend of mine has the base game already. I will be buying undertow and we will together buy all the characters. We will each have 6, so I’ll basically have Undertow characters + gasket/tink/lab rats/nugget. Since there seems to be a little less content overall in Undertow, I was thinking of adding an expansion for myself. Would you pick 40 days in Daelore or Splice and Dice for variability specifically for Undertow alone without the base game. Thanks for the great video !
I want this game! And every expansion 😀
Good video btw ^^
I would most likely buy many of the extras, but they are never in the store, except for the base game.
Thanks Liz. Curious to know which you prefer - Too Many Bones or Cloudspire?
I don’t know why RUclips hasn’t been alerting me to all comments, but TMB! Cloudspire is good too, but I adore TMB.
Which video compared Gearlocks? And thanks for this vid!
It's airing Thursday!
Sweet thanks, I must have misheard as already up. I look forward to it!
If you play Solo, but as a 2-Gearloc Team (or three..hehehe), for Rules sake, is that considered Multi- or still Solo? My guess is more then one Gearloc (no matter how) is Multi-
You are correct, it is considered multiplayer!
Liz can we have a gearlock ranking now that everything is out?
Honestly I don't think I could bear it. I've spent so much time with them that I've developed too many emotional attachments. lol
Which would you recommend to get for solo play?
I have and enjoy all of it! I personally would start with the base box and add a couple of Gearlocs, particularly Ghillie or Nugget.
@@BeyondSolitaire thanks thats exactly what i have right now
I'd like this game, but being in Australia, for me to order the base game on its own, $175US. Yeah I can't justify that. :/ With expansions, that'll require me to sell my house. :(
I'm sorry. :(
I'll just play this game vicariously through youtube :D
@@Sui2807 you can always get this game on tts and tts is only 20 dollars, way faster experience but you miss out on the tactial feeling
You must have a really cheap house over there.....
Why do people keep the boxes that barely come with anything in them. Just condense them lol
I mean, I did it specifically to make this video, and then put everything in the Trove Chest. But to each their own.
