I honestly feel bad for you guys. I used to want to be a Border Patrol agent but after seeing the mental health studies on agents, and the fact that y’all are hated on for absolutely no damn reason really made me want to pursue something else. I don’t know. I’m still thinking of a career. (Border Patrol or police work in general is high on my list though)
Anyways, thank you guys for your service. I am proud that the U.S. has a somewhat lawful border and awesome agents doing all they can to keep us safe even when no one sees them. Honor First.
High suicide rates too. Can't imagine picking up dead kids that didn't make the journey

(VRA) is an excepted authority that allows eligible veterans who meet the basic qualifications for a position to be exempted from the traditional competitive hiring process and placed into an appointed hiring status, expediting the hiring process. In turn, we are able to maintain a workforce that is highly skilled and diverse.
You are eligible for this appointing authority if you are a:

6 month academy. USAjobs is the place to apply. The application process is lengthy don't get discouraged. Also US border patrol is different than Customs.
