Lighting, setting, editing. Nailed it. You have a great thing going! As I have said earlier, all of you are natural in front of the camera. Also, you have been able to keep the themes interesting. Kudos to you!
Really fun watching !!! Actually received 3 bottles of 2017 Tyrrell's Vat 1 Semillon yesterday ! They have 97+ Parker and also below $50. Did not open them yet. And, actually drank the Serrig last week on my 50th birthday in a restaurant !! Beautiful style .... But way to young ... You miss all the great complexity from a aged Riesling. Back in the cellar for 10 years !! Thanks for the video, but definitely looking forward to the next one !!
I want to get my hands on the Vat 1 - hear they're great. The 2020 Domane Serrig "Vogelsang" will be part of the video being released tomorrow. Amazing wine that can be aged 10-20-30 years.
Just tasted the Ponzi Pinot Gris (2022). I absolutely enjoy tasting wines after see/hearing someone else’s review. With this wine, I’d did not pick up the floral notes that you did. For me, the nose was fairly closed. I picked up some green apple, chamomile, lemon pith, & citrus. I had to wait till it remained in the glass for a while before I could get much of it though. I found the palate to be fairly mineral/stone driven. It was definitely a well made wine and a great purchase at $20! Thanks for doing an episode like this!!!
I tried to pick all of these up and was only able to find the Ponzi locally. I’ll try Total Wine next time. I trying to learn more about which white wines I like outside of Riesling.
I was at Gaia in Santorini in the autumn of 2022. A beautiful tasting experience right by the beach, and very interesting wines indeed. Highly recommended!
Make sure you cellar some of the Tyrrell's Semillon as it is outstanding after 15+ years of bottle age. 22 vintage was a 10 out of 10 season in the hunter for Semillon. They also have the oldest surviving Chardonnay vineyard in the world, it's good to.
Love how you respond (quite immediately even!) to community comments. If I may ask, would you be in favour to dedicate some episodes to either Super Tuscans, Super Seconds, grand cru classe’s that punch way above their ranking (e.g. Pontet Canet; more a second growth rather than a fifth) and/or second wines that may even ‘outperform’ some of the grand vins? Cheers from Amsterdam!
If you like Alvarinho you must try the Soalheiro Vinhas Velhas (old vines) from Portugal, it’s very very good. Then you have Loureiro (close to Alvarinho), Quinta Da Pedra is delicious, try to find 2007, its a superb wine even compare with 10 times price bottles. Then you have Pêra Manca, try to find older than 2021 and also try Principal from 2016, you can’t go wrong. Portugal have very good wines and a superb value for money.
Another fantastic video! Excellent work! This made me think a Chablis tasting could be interesting, as I just tasted my staff on 1er Cru vs Grand Cru Chablis. All great wines too! Happy Summer to all!
Thanks for a great comment. In the release tomorrow, we're including the Domaine Servin "Les Clos" from Chablis. It performed very well. I think there's a good argument for doing an episode on Chablis.
As someone who lives in the Willamette Valley, I commend you on your pronunciation. There is another wine channel that seems to go out of their way to mispronounce Willamette.
I’m laying down some Evening Land-Seven Springs at the moment. They’re in the Eola-Amity Hills AVA just north of Salem. The La Source Pinot noir is lovely, though being a 2019, still a long way to go.
Great Video. If you haven’t tried it yet, do pick up some Tyrrell’s Vat 1 Semillon. You won’t be disappointed, it’s fantastic. And I would be remiss if I also didn’t suggest some Canadian whites, such as Hidden Bench Fume Blanc from Niagara. Cheers….
Yes, Stacey was mentioning the Vat 1 Semillon and I would really like to try it now that I had the "generic" Hunter Valley. God stuff. Thanks for the suggestions. Cheers!
Love your videos and this one is no exception. All beautiful wines. The aged semillon coming out of hunter valley is to die for! If you’re interested in a Pinot Gris in an amazing style try Foradori Fuoripista. Spends 8 months on its skins in amphora. Stunning wine. Thanks.
Oh wow Mosel Grand Cru Riesling coming up, that got 100 Parker Points even, looking forward to your verdict, nothing beats Mosel Rieslings in the white wine world for me :)
Thanks for doing cheaper wines. While it's cool to see people actually pop expensive bottles and enjoy them it's also nice to see some new wines that us commoners can afford. There are a ton of wines $
Love the channel! You absolutely must try an aged Tyrrell’s Vat 1 Semillon (20yrs+). The wine is built for ageing, and despite no oak treatment it develops some of the most incredible aged characteristics. Quite unique. Another banger! The daughter’s palate is getting better with each video.
I know! B is slowly becoming a wine lover I think.... - Pops
Liked the format and content. Good ideas for future tries.
Can't wait for next week!

@@OurPourDecisions looking forward to the new video !!
Good video, also lots of interesting and tasty un-oaked examples from those regions for under $20.
Awesome episode (as usual) and you've made my weekend with the aussie shout-out! Cheers

Appreciate your work as is it honest and authentic. Cheers from Switzerland!

Brilliant presentation and super involving, go guys, love from Kent in 🏴
I like this format of video! Another great Pinot Gris from Oregon is Lange Winery 2023. $32 and so dang good
Thanks for the suggestions. Will be headed out in that direction soon so appreciate the input!

Hard to go wrong with Muscadet for under $50 options - lots of high quality ones that will go great with oysters
I agree. Château de la Ragotière was on our inital list but we decided we needed a non-European wine so we added Tyrrell's. So good with oysters!

Not trying to spoil the episode that we're releasing tomorrow but...... it's a great wine!!

I love that idea.

What glasses are you using?
Nothing fancy right now. From Costco. Might change in the future.

Etna makes great wines
The Frank Cornelissen, 'Magma' is an iconic wine from Etna and very hard to get hold of.
This was the first time I had Etna Bianco and I thought it was really cool. Fun experience!
We want the expensive stuff!
lol
Pleasant tasting 😅
“Blended with Vinho Verde”?
Vinho Verde is an appellation, not a grape.
Nice correction - thank you!
