Great video. I just picked up an ‘18 matte black R before winter.
Your rear shock spring preload explanation was worded differently from what I expected.... For two up riding, you are shortening (not lengthening) the progressive rate spring, which increases base rate.

Thanks for showing the seat swap. Been looking for how that works for so long and now I see how easy it is.

When I picked up my used Thruxton R from the previous owner, immediately felt that something was off in the handling. Bike seemed quick to dive on the front-end and felt quick to turn-in / lean when going left. Bike was barely used by the previous owner and the price was too good...I'LL TAKE IT!
When I got home and methodically went through every suspension setting, found that many of the adjustments were NOT equal on both sides, and the front forks were set to SQUISHY!
    Always check / double-check somone else's work.

    Hi Troubadour,
I am picking up my Thruxton R tomorrow... I'm pretty excited.. I haven't signed off on it, I'm getting a great deal on a white one but I can't say I love the white.. I much rather prefer the silver or the matte black... Do you think I should go with the kick ass deal on thew white one at 14k out the door or opt for the Silver... I was thinking to just have the white one wrapped if i go with it.. what do you think?

Hi Nate! That's awesome! There's so many options with the white, from airbrushing, to wraps, to decals. Its like a blank canvas. Even repainting at some point isn't going to cost an arm and a leg. Plus, of all of the events I've attended I've never seen a white Thruxton R, especially with the fairing. On the other hand, the silver just freakin' rocks. Either way Im sure you're going to love the bike!

I totally get that it's a blank canvas, I have been coveting this bike for a looooooong time. I never thought about it in White.. I love it in silver and matte black.. I know I can get it wrapped and that was my plan but I feel like it just loses something, They will have to remove the badges on the side of the tank and I feel like it would be Tainted....
