I find it interesting that AEV didn't address that, almost like Chevy told them not to, as it seems like a design flaw. That said, there may not be any other options to get the travel and be further outboard. Definitely an Achilles heel.
It's like so many people comment on this issue but there hasn't been any "real" issue, there is aftermarket skids that help but they are about as much as an issue as the the jeep jk rear shock positions which a lot of ppl complain about, but only in the most hard core scenario or the craziest line will it ever be an issue.
That's why you have spotters to help you position your tires, you wouldn't pick a line to travel that has a huge rock that's going to rip it off, that's why you run the rock over with the tire to lift the shocks over it.

These shock mounts are from the 2500hd. They can take a pounding. Are there any real cases of someone being stranded because of this? I haven't seen any but there might be some, somewhere. People have been off-road alot in these trucks as well.
You can drive with a broken shock. Would be annoying but no huge deal...expensive to fix if you did damage to the mount tho
Need to fix rear shocks
how about them other accessories. how about stock grab handles for the driver and rear passengers, you know, like that come stock on lowly Frontiers and other basic trucks.
The shocks are too low
inflow divide Yet they survive again....
yeah people keep saying the shocks are too low but I have yet to see a video where they get damaged.
@@13christbane I saw one video a few months ago, can't remember the channel but they guy and his wife are huge into offroading. They were really pushing some tough trails though, trails that easily challenged the modified jeeps that were there.
Is that the 2.6 liter diesel?
I like it and I LOVE the country intro music.
Those rear shocks sticking down is bad news for going over anything jagged
Id love to see a Bison version of the TRD Pro.
Change your logo to the Rising Sun?
Them rear shocks hanging kinda low.
I really like the zr2 but the middle arm rest annoy me, it seems a bit cheap. I guess i need to see one for myself to make up my mind.
Skodz Gaming yeah go drive one. You won’t be disappointed. Bring your check book.
It’s a Chevy. Of course it’s cheap.
R.I.P. RUSTY Tacoma’s
Ask GM if the Colorado will ever get the new 4 cyl turbo engine offered in the Silverado.
Does this version also come with the side airbags that randomly deploy when you go offroad?
patientx77 They have fixed that with a software update.
No that's an upcharge.
Nice. Less clearance and more weight is exactly what every off-road vehicle needs. 😕
Yeah GM makes a level kit and a lift now for the ZR2.. which will help a lot. Will fit 33” tires too. This should have put them on for the video.
GM V8 exactly
I bet TFL rolls their eyes alot reading these uneducated comments
LoL tfl aren't really that knowledgeable car/truck guys. Listening to Roman reminds me of a bad used car salesman and the rest of the guys even worse. "Mr. Truck" is more knowledgeable but some of the things I've seen him do it say make me cringe sometimes. I'm not Mr. Perfect myself but I believe we could always learn something from someone and knowledge should be shared with everyone for free.
Crazy expensive. You can get a full-sized 2020 Silverado 1500 Custom Trail Boss for $43,865 according to Andre's other video ruclips.net/video/P4BRl8AXJ_Y/видео.html. Comes with 6.2L V8 420hp/460 torque with 10-spd transmission and will tow 13,400 in a double cab 4x4! We'll see, sounds too good to be true. Configurator and trucks coming ~Aug 2019.
ZR2 with negligible enhancements: check
$5000 price hike: check
Boring interior: check
1st grade project looking gauges: check
Still no dual zone climate control: check
Over priced: check
Yep. It all adds up. It’s definitely a Chevy.
So cute
I don’t expect luxury out of an off-roader, but that’s just me
You should see what the jeep guys spend on their offroaders and they don't have near the comfort level.
true. Overpriced for the included tech. Needs a redesign.
Best midsize on the market; CHECK
Better than the Tacoma; CHECK
48k yeah ok no that’s used raptor money or mildly equipped Silverado that’s serious up charge.
@I know you are right, And I just got owned but: and the high volume most common trim Chevy truck, the LT now comes standard with a turbo 4 banger engine. So using your logic no one will buy Chevy trucks. See how that works?
lol a 'Mildly equiped Silverado' I just bought a 2018 Crew Cab Long Bed GMC Sierra 3500 HD 6.0L 4x4 SLE for $41,150 out the door. Granted it was a $53,300 MSRP truck. But these Bisons will be discounted too, so you'd probably really end up paying anywhere from 38k-45k plus your taxes depending how good your dealer is.
We need an aev chevy 1500 with the inline 6 3.0 diesel. 37 inch tires and dssv suspension and winch with full skid plates. Then a raptor killer 1500 with a 3 inch lift dssv suspension and the camera ss 455 hp 6.2 v-8 on 37's. Then the ultra GM/AEV combo!! A new 2020 HD chevy with the duramax and a ten speed Allison. 3 inch lift and 40 inch tires and a winch on dssv shocks. Available with 80 gallons on 2 tanks fuel capacity...for long distance exposition travel.
steven wright you just described $85k
Bang. Bang. Scrraaaaaape.
Good job, spotter.
Put a darn standard transmission in it.
I love how all they did was give you a new set of bumpers that actually HURTS your off-road capabilities, charge you for said shitty bumpers. And then they wanna try and sell shit that’s ACTUALLY useful?? Why tf not just make the truck with all those things included? People are just gonna buy the regular ZR2 and modify it for wayyy cheaper
Soo...is this Bison made in America?? Or somewhere else?? The reason for asking, because of the GM plant closings!
Wentzville plant
@@goldie1088 Thanks for the info 😎
Where is the Four-cylinder turbo would be way better then the V6 better mpg
Where is Nathan?
I stopped caring the moment he said starting at $48,000. JFC vehicles are getting out of hand
Was that left rear leaf spring pack broken? Looked like it was coming apart on the back side
That's how it's made. Provides softer ride until springs compress
I like it, but for $5K over the cost of a ZR2 I'd really expect more. Still can't throw on 35" wheels without a bunch of work. The additional skid plates and bumpers are nice but they can already be sourced more cheaply for the aftermarket. Basically, that Bison did nothing a ZR2 isnt already capable of while leaving you with $5K still in your pockect.
sweet truck, oh also $50,000!? are you nuts? 40 maybe
40 is probably what people will pay with discounts.
If they'd put a decent tire on these trucks, you wouldn't have to beat the piss out of the rock sliders all day long. 31" tires were in style two decades ago.
OFFRD in another video a Chevy engineer said they couldn’t go bigger on tires due to it changing the impact and crash test ratings, even the aev front bumper had to be worked on until it passed compliance
The tire is good. You mean the size.
@@dj1400777 Which begs the question, how do Ford and FCA both use 33" tires on the new Wrangler, Gladiator, and Ranger from the factory? Sounds like yet another example of piss poor GM engineering. Even the new Trail Boss has tiny 32" tires on it, which look ridiculous on such a huge truck.
OFFRD they don’t have the same body’s and frames and probably don’t have the same crash test ratings, but hey I’m not an engineer so that’s all speculation they do look too small though I was just saying what they had said
Just waiting for those low strung shocks to get torn off.
Don't hold your breath, or do.
have you seen any videos where they have?
A v8 would be good or a 4.3.
If only it had a stick and a clutch.
I get 130 mpg in my Prius prime
Good thing your airbags didn't deploy :P
Misiekgren they fixed that with a software update.
"This is very technical guys" 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂 did he ever drive offroad?
Would not pay $50K and slam it into a Rock immediately 😂
It's NOT his truck
