The reason it’s so emotional is because Sebastian Bach is literally pleading with and fighting for his friend’s life. It was very personal for him. Thank God that it worked, and his friend is still alive and sober for 10 years now. Thanks to Bas and everyone who fought for Steven.
This is about watching someone Spiral into destruction from addiction and not being able to stop it, not be able to help, to aid, being left behind knowing what is destroyed, in this case it was their friend, Steven Adler, the orgininal drummer of Guns and Roses who fell into addiction.
There are vocal coaches on RUclips who have reacted to his videos in amazement at his talent. I think it was just odd to hear someone say "his vocals are questionable". Your opinion probably would have been tolerated better had you said something like "this guy is very talented but the style is not for me"
Voice coaches always are amazed at his voice and his control, they explain the technical reasons of his singing and I have gotten a great appreciation of his voice from their analysis, I know nothing about singing but find him excellent.
We are definitely being messed with LOL Steelheart’s singer has NOTHING on Sebastian. Period. Mijenko’s voice is MOSTLY head voice. He uses falsetto arguably more than any other singer from that era. Super easy to do. Sebastian definitely doesn’t have a nasally voice. You might be hearing that from a bad recorded version of the song. Song came out in 1991. Definitely different technology back then….. This is just embarrassing LOL

Their are a lot of keyboard warriors out there who live to be hateful. Your RUclips life will become a lot more enjoyable when you can learn to just ignore those commenters and focus on the more positive and/or constructive ones. I have seen and known too many RUclipsrs who burned their channels down by combating the negative commenters in their videos. What ends up happening is they see that they get a reaction from you and actually crank up the negativity and then all your videos become about them and that battle. Just focus on you as well as the subjects you want to cover and your life will become much easier and more enjoyable, I promise. I know it is hard and those comments make you feel bad, but really, they are not worth a second of your time. Oh... if you are still reading and you are not rolling your eyes yet ;)... I get that you are trying to back up your opinion by listing singers who you think are better than Sebastian. I just do not think that is going to have the affect you are hoping for. Most people clicking on the video are either Skid Row/Sebastian Bach fans, who want to see a reaction to one of their videos; or are your supporters. Now your supporters might not have any issue with your list; the others though probably won't be lining up to subscribe any time soon because of it. I think you would be better off just saying what you have issues with or don't like about a subject. People (well most people) appreciate honesty so will agree to disagree, but move on, and will be more inclined to subscribe because of this honesty. Listing "better" singers just appears to be running down the artist that they like. For example, you could have just said, "Sebastian seems to utilize a lot of nasality and I am not really a fan of that technique." Also, when you start listing other artists, people might get the impression that you are not giving "their" artist the attention and focus that they might feel they are due. It doesn't matter if it is true are not as we both know, sadly, that impressions tend to matter more than substance. Not trying to dump on you or make you feel worse, but rather give some constructive "criticism" and maybe help make your life a little easier. Hopefully you took it that way. Cheers
Personal opinions are one thing, however, when you make false statements regarding technical abilities it’s another. Sebastian does not sing in head voice throughout the song so therefore it cannot actually be “nasally”. He mostly uses chest voice throughout. He also doesn’t sing in falsetto. Please educate yourself before you speak about technical aspects. It’s quite obvious you have zero knowledge, experience or understanding regarding any of it. Bach actually has a 5 octave range and has performed in three different productions on Broadway. He also has two new kick ass songs on radio! His new album drops on May 10th.
Late to the part here. The topic was so close to him because as mentioned the song was about Steven Adler’s addiction. He and Steven were childhood best friends. They both achieved unbelievable dreams of playing in 90’s super groups(Skid Row and Guns and Roses). Steven, through his struggle, threw that once in a lifetime opportunity away. I would agree he isn’t as refined or as solid a singer as some others you named. However I think because they were kind of a crossover between a glam band and a metal band a lot of metal fans who were used to just poor screaming vocals were blown away by how he blended the two worlds. I personally love him and his body of work. That said, none of your analysis is wrong at all.
Agree, you’re totally entitled to your opinion. 😊 Thank you for being honest and having the integrity to tell us your opinion. It’s one of the reasons I like watching. Don’t change!

I guess it's because he shows his range, but you always see the power ballads recommended for this band. Not the bangers. 18 and Life, Wasted Time, I Remember You. I'd much rather see someone rock out to Youth Gone Wild, Monkey Business, The Threat or Medicine Jar.
I believe Sebastian is from Ontario Canada and most people from this region have very nasally speaking voices. I love on the other side of the border in NY in Rochester and my voice is also very nasally. I never thought I had an accent until I was older and spent time around kids from other places. I am very nasal. Not as bad as some of my friends because my parents are originally from northern PA.
I hear you w the difference in vocal attributes, I personally think Dimash isn't all that, there is soulful and emotive and then there is sterile/cold just to hit the high notes for shock/wow effect.... music and the vibrations that come with it effect us all differently Maddy, this is YOUR channel !!! Don't let people dictate how you respond if you don't dig something !! Baz is singing from a place where he experienced watching his dear friend fall deep into addiction in a bad way, I feel him in the song and the way he sings about his friend !!! KEEP EM COMING MADDY - Looking forward to the next one !!!
Okay, so Sebastian Bach isn’t your cup of tea. Now listen to Geoff Tate of Queensrÿche if you haven’t already. Be prepared to be astonished with his operatic highs & lows in his vocals. He’s got a great smooth vocal voice for metal.
I saw your breath being taken away at the start of the vocals and I saw your body slightly move to the beginning of the guitar solo, you love this! And you in love with sabastian
Wow, I love Skid Row, but if people are verbally abusing someone for not liking what they like then thats awful. Sorry to the lady hosting this reaction channel. Not cool.
You handled that like a champ and remember that half the people are going to like you and half the people are not going to like you but at least the half that does like you like you for you being you. His name is Fred Bierk from Canada but he took on the name Sebastian Bach after the great composer Sir Sebastian Bach. He took vocal lessons for about four years and he is my all time favorite singer and I don’t have a problem with anything that you said because we are all different and that is what makes the world so great so keep rocking sweetheart.
The Song was composed for a firend of him, he had those kinds of problems, that man was Guns n Roses drumer's his name is Steven Adler. So I really like Skid Row's voice, but I also really like you too much je je, You are so beautiful. Greetings from Mexico City
Don't worry about the haters. One of the things I love about music is that it's TOTALLY subject to opinion. Personally, I love Sebastian Bach's voice. If you don't, you're weird (😂). But I'll still watch your reactions
If I'm not mistaken, most of Skid Row's songs were written by bassist Rachel Bolan & guitarist Dave Sabo. Props for being the first female reactor to not spend the entire video talking about the band's hair.
We live in the USA. You have the right to say how you feel. I have much more respect for you saying how you feel than saying what you think people you should say. Stand strong you have a great channel. I like honesty!!!
I appreciate you for taking another listen and reacting to them again. I can never understand the hate and outright disrespect online from people that have no chill. I loved your reaction. You are so sweet and beautiful!! New subscriber here. 🌹❤️❤️❤️❤️
Calling out stupid remarks is not hate. Some of the stupidest things I've ever heard were from people I truly love. She made statements of fact that were objectively wrong. So wrong that they came across as stupid. Not liking a song or a singer is fine. When you say they're struggling to sing and doing it wrong, that's different. There are thousands of artists that I don't like but I recognize that they're good at what they do. It's just not for me.
The slower songs in studio version , they layered his singing to give a slight chorus effect. They would offset and layer it. Randy Rhoads did that but he played guitar lol. I think that's what your hearing. It does give a tone you described
He wrote this song about his friend and Drummer from the band Guns n Roses who was ultimately fired due to a crippling heroin addiction. Guns n Roses is a great band, have you reacted to them yet? Welcome to the Jungle is a good one....
If there are 10 people and you are one of them. You are the only one out of 10 that can’t recognize a true voice. You should stop reacting immediately. It is evident, that you have know idea how to recognize true talent.
This particular song was written by Sebastian Bach about his best friend Steven Adler from guns and Roses when Steven was addicted to heroin and he was trying to help him into rehab. I respect your opinions on different vocal singers , I have similar opinions when it comes to vocal ranges but I do have a favourite spot for sebba, just a personal thing
1st off, not everyone likes the same thing. Thats why theres so many different styles of music. And while something may sound good to you that doesn't mean everyone else is gonna get or feel the same emotion. I cant even imagine how boring music would be if everyone liked the same thing. God, we wouldnt have, Mozart, Ray Charles, Conway Teitty, Steve Perry, and Sébastien. And seriously people, its ok if someone doesn't like his style, or his voice. Let it alone. Im sure not everyone likes, say, someone like meatloaf, yet, others love his voice and theatrics. Just enjoy what you enjoy and let everyone else enjoy what they like. It makes it so much more personal if not everyone likes what you like.
People should not be ugly or hateful to you for expressing your honest opinion. In the age of RUclips it's even easier to just change the channel if you don't like what you see/hear. At the same time the objective truth is that Sebastian Bach is one of the best rock vocalists of all time. The trolls popping up under comments, saying he isn't, should do their trolling under a bridge where trolling belongs.
He is one of the "Great Vocalists" of our time. That said, when he speaks it is high and nasally. Not what you would expect. Don Dokken another great voice, nasally when he talks. This tune was about the drummer for GNR which, I'm sure you know by now. Enjoyed the reaction and honesty. What people forget, there's artist that are fabulous we don't care for. I love Led Zeppelin but, in some tunes Plant's voice will get on my nerve some days. There I said it! What! Stay Cool. Peace On Ya Oh, and speaking of GNR, Axl (Billy) Rose has a nasal to his vocals singing but, his speaking voice doesn't. Go figure Lol Hope I lightened up your day.
I love the man's voice, but I'm surprised you got hate bc you didn't. Different tones affect people differently. If you ever want to hear him sing in a lower register, try "Battle with the Bottle". A song he wrote about, well...😊 He's a bit older but he still sounds good to me. He wrote the lyrics to this as well about ex- GnR drummer Steven Adler, but you've probably already been informed. He also wrote the lyrics to In a Darkened Room (about child abuse). He always seems to write lyrics that are personal to him... Heroin got the nickname "horse" from the 30's when trainers/owners/managers, whoever, would dose the horses with the drug so they'd run their hearts out (who cares if it shortened their lifespan, right?🙄). Anyway, thanx for the 2nd try! Take good care!😊
Thank goodness….do not give an opinion that is not honest. I think that’s refreshing. To be honest he was talented at one time and he really over time….hurt his vocal chords. I saw him at his early stage….lots of power and clarity. In a few years he had really changed. I like the journalist opinion please don’t change. We are not children and we should be able to hear everyone’s opinion. It’s silly for them to get upset because yours is different. Thank you
I'm am glad you stick to your opinion, even tho I do enjoy the band and lead vocals. Integrity goes a long way with me. Hope the others that watch this show the respect to agree to disagree...
Actually, that is not a general song about drugs, it's referring to Steven Adler, the original GNR Drummer. And I don't share your opinion about his voice. For three decades I regularly attended concerts of globally known bands, and I was always impressed, or actually fascinated by Seb's voice.
People think their opinions are the ultimate and anyone who doesn't share that opinion are idiots. But that view is just narcissism at its finest. I remember when I was young, my grandfather telling my "If everybody like the same thing, they all would be after your grandmother."
oh boy! and You dare to make a second reaction! lol well kudos to you for being brave! Yes we all are entitle to our own opinions however I think "Reaction channels" should read a bit about the band before jumping to react. I cannot believe that people are insulting you! because most people who love this band must be in their 40's lol shame on them! You are beautiful and like anyone else... we all ignorant in some subjects.
OMG someone called you an Idiot??? Oh Maddy, I SO jumped to my opinion. I hope I did not cause you any sadness. And even if you wrote me a 10 page email saying I didn’t, I would still feel HORRIBLE for just being negative. My Mom was my hero. And taught me and my 2 brothers all we know about loving, honoring, and respecting All Women. Again all I can say is I feel horrible , and I’m so sorry. You have every right to hate something you do not like! No one had a right to call you an Idiot!! 💙💙💙
Oh puhh-lease. You're out of your mind. His voice is NOT "nasally sounding". The recording you were listening to sounds SUPER compressed to me. Try downloading an uncompressed version of this song. Sebastian has one of the most incredible voices in the history of rock PERIOD. His range in insane.
With respect, it's simply something about Sebastian's "nasal" that irritates you for some reason. The lead singer from Steelheart, Dimash, and Rob and Austin from Home Free (didn't recognize the other example you mentioned) have all been intentionally "nasal" at times in their singing (Rob and Austin in particular, they are nothing but "nasal" in Man of Constant Sorrow). But hey, I get it. Everybody hears things differently, like some people can't stand the sound made when fingernails are dragged down a chalkboard, and other people are bothered not at all by it.
I myself think that Sebastian is one of the best rock singers ever. However we all do have certain tastes, For me... I can't stand Avenged Sevenfolds singer. People have been trying for years to talk me into it but his voice irritates me. Thanks for trying again. Love your reactions.
I may be mistaken, but I believe this song was written about Steve Clark, the guitar player for Def Leppard that died of alcohol poisoning. I never understood why the video is about drugs, if it was supposed to be a tribute to Steve Clark. That is what I had always heard about this song. FYI the song “Song and Emotion” by the band Tesla is another song that is DEFINITELY about Steve Clark.
It was actually about his friend Steven Adler, who was the drummer for Guns N' Roses. He was fired from the band over his heroin addiction which was also the source/reason for the theme of the song.
I can't stand the voices of Ronnie James Dio or Geddy Lee, that's fine that's a preference. I think what got people's ire up was when you equated your preference to his talent level. Glad you came back for another listen.
Isn't it funny that you watch a reactor for their opinion and get mad when they disagree with you. It's a beautiful song. Don't let the haters get you down keep being you. Much Love ❤❤❤
Also just adding to the post, no judgement, the vocal general vibe at the time was generally quite nasal , the transition between hair metal and grunge was a difficult transition
You don't have to like what people think you should. I remember in my youth the reactions I would get when I said I didn't like rush ( I still don't.) Everyone has their own preverence and your entitled to yours as well....unless you don't like Miles Kennedy lol.
I realized a long time ago that everyone has different taste when it comes to music, even metal or rock. I always felt that Steelheart and Sheriff vocalizations were just way too high for my liking, as smooth as they are. I like a little roughness to the song. It's rock'n roll not opera.
It’s an unpopular opinion but at least you’re not being fake to appease your viewers and people should appreciate that. I feel like a lot of bands of this time and genre had nasally voices (Steelheart, Motley Crue etc..) but he is just known for having very powerful pipes.
Ignore the haters. I´m a Skid Row fan and i love Seb´s voice. You don´t. Just like some people like coffee and i don´t.
You definitely need to listen to Geoff Tate
Oooh, interesting!!
THIS SONG IS DEDICATED TO FIRST DRUMMER OF GUNS AND ROSES FRIEND OF SINGER OF SKID ROW.
So sad
This song is written about the Drummer From Guns & Roses Steven Adler
Man you must hate Ozzy, that's all he sings out of his nasal cavity.
What the hell? Why didn't this show up in my uploads?😆😆😆 only 2 views whats going on? Great Reaction😂
lol it was blocked, I’m premiering it now 😂
Agree, you’re totally entitled to your opinion. 😊 Thank you for being honest and having the integrity to tell us your opinion. It’s one of the reasons I like watching. Don’t change!
Oh my. Tough reaction. Can't agree at all with your reaction
PLEASE Try the song , " I remember you ! " , if you like this one some what ? This song will floor you ! Love lost by a passing away wife , form her husband !
I just saw another comment that did not look good to me. NO RESPECT TO YOU. But I was trying to say ALL MY RESPECT TO YOU!! I went back, gave over 20 of your reactions 5 stars on Utube. I hope this helped in some way. And even after my comment, you sent me hearts on another. You have EVERY right to your opinion Maddy!! And just want you to know, I’ll have your back on any other reactions you do k??💙💙💙💙💙Hearts back to you. You are AMAZING. I so hope you know this!!💙💙💙
Hugs 💗💗💗 totally okay, thanks for your support!
@@MaddyReactions You are so very welcome!! Thank you for the hearts! Sorry for long message. But this will be 6th year without my oldest daughter Tiff. On Nov 30th it was her 6th year Angelversary. So I tend to get a tad emotional lol
What i like about this song is the lyrics. It's so sad and it actually has meaning.
Very true!!!
My comment also is that Sebastian is one of the great voices. Check out their songs that peak at #6 and #4 at the Billboard if he's nasally enough.
I guess it's because he shows his range, but you always see the power ballads recommended for this band. Not the bangers. 18 and Life, Wasted Time, I Remember You. I'd much rather see someone rock out to Youth Gone Wild, Monkey Business, The Threat or Medicine Jar.
oooh
Nice ones also
"My Enemy" would be a good one.
🩷
@@MaddyReactions backatcha ❤❤
Dimash has a great voice but I can't listen to it
Okay, so Sebastian Bach isn’t your cup of tea. Now listen to Geoff Tate of Queensrÿche if you haven’t already. Be prepared to be astonished with his operatic highs & lows in his vocals. He’s got a great smooth vocal voice for metal.
OOOh
I totally agree. Geoff Tate was a top tier vocalist in his prime.
Yeah, Take Hold Of The Flame live in Japan. Check it out! Then move on to Eyes Of A Stranger...
18 and life would have been the better choice. Let's rock out more with Skid Row.
Ohhh, interesting!
If he had the Billy goat beard and the sunglasses it would be epic. All the love MaddyReactions ❤
The Song was composed for a firend of him, he had those kinds of problems, that man was Guns n Roses drumer's his name is Steven Adler. So I really like Skid Row's voice, but I also really like you too much je je, You are so beautiful. Greetings from Mexico City
I love skid row but hate their ballads. Monkey Business is the representative song for skid row.
Oooh
Don't worry about the haters. One of the things I love about music is that it's TOTALLY subject to opinion. Personally, I love Sebastian Bach's voice. If you don't, you're weird (😂). But I'll still watch your reactions
Check out Geoff Tate of Queensryche. You could do just about any song but the popular choice would Eyes of a Stranger
If I'm not mistaken, most of Skid Row's songs were written by bassist Rachel Bolan & guitarist Dave Sabo. Props for being the first female reactor to not spend the entire video talking about the band's hair.
🩷
We live in the USA. You have the right to say how you feel. I have much more respect for you saying how you feel than saying what you think people you should say. Stand strong you have a great channel. I like honesty!!!
Steal heart does not as many tools as Sebastian.. smh
Oooh
Don't let people get you down for not liking something. We can't help what we like and what we don't and everyone's entitled to their opinion :)
🩷
But that's how you make albums do tours and make money and become a millionaire and drive Lamborghinis,Ferrari and other exotic vehicles!
Thank you
Lol Sebastian was a regular on Gilmore Girls
I'm am glad you stick to your opinion, even tho I do enjoy the band and lead vocals. Integrity goes a long way with me. Hope the others that watch this show the respect to agree to disagree...
Thank you
Dino jelusick is a singer that is making heads turn now in the metal scene. The guy is going to be one of the greats for sure. Check him out.
Respect for your statement Maddy. 👍👏
Everyone can and is allowed to have their opinion and there is no reason to immediately hate the other person.
🩷
Thanks so much!
Well stated
Hugs
Also just adding to the post, no judgement, the vocal general vibe at the time was generally quite nasal , the transition between hair metal and grunge was a difficult transition
You don't have to like what people think you should. I remember in my youth the reactions I would get when I said I didn't like rush ( I still don't.) Everyone has their own preverence and your entitled to yours as well....unless you don't like Miles Kennedy lol.
I'm a big skid row fan but never liked this song but I still listin to it every time any way
I realized a long time ago that everyone has different taste when it comes to music, even metal or rock.
He clearly switches between head and chest...not sure what you are hearing if not that
There are a few vocal coaches that have reacted to his music that will disagree.
Try doing DIO live doing heaven and hell or dont talk to strangers ,mid 80s are his best years
its about his buddy...Steven Adler from Guns and Roses...the horse is heroin ...
Ignore the haters. I´m a Skid Row fan and i love Seb´s voice. You don´t. Just like some people like coffee and i don´t. We all have our tastes and opinions, and that makes living far more interesting and fun. It´s not the end of the world ..............................................wait, is that a meteorite flying past my window ?
😂😂😂 ☄️
So I’m back lol. First, I LOVE SKID ROW!! Second, I do love your reactions and I still feel so bad for being so negative. So I’m sending you all my love, light, and prayers for a happy and safe Holiday season. This will be 6th without our oldest daughter Tiffeny. She was 34 in 2017. 💙💙☀️☀️🙏🙏💙💙💙☀️☀️☀️🙏🙏
I've never heard anyone say he sounded nasily. The opposite actually very clear you can hear the lyrics. Opinions vary all good
