0:34 is a great example of there is far less hitting in the NHL now. He absolutely could have put a body on him. I get he's trying to shut down the pass there, but there is absolutely zero question he could have hit him. I see this all the time now.
Powerplay example. Usually not a lot of finishing hits on the PK side of things. Forward is supposed to angle and keep the puck on the same side of the ice but Dahlin was able to expose that.
It looks like the defenders will get the puck from him. But he always knows how to make a move around him. As a defender if I have the puck on the blue line and there is a person coming at me, I get scared that he will take the puck and score. So I just throw it away because of that. Is there any way to fix this?
Repetition is the mother of skill. Train in the mechanics, which will increase your confidence as Thomas said, then apply to in game and practice situations once you feel comfortable in your movements.
