I just got this myself, I THINK the hole in her hand is to help her hold her soda /water bottle, the bottle has a hole in the bottom also, I figure if I poke an earring post through both (hole in bottom of bottle and hole in hand...) it might work...🤔
My daughter has a dollar tree mermaid that pops at the waist like that, first time I thought it broke fully - the torso also completely fills with water in the bath.
@Courtly_Jester it has to be a regular MH arm. The CAM have bigger joints and you'd see it very easily. The part of the joint that goes into the upper arm warps the plastic so you see it bulging. My guess is Zombie Shake Rochelle with the bracelet from Rochelle's basic doll.

it likely has black mold growing in it from being exposed to water. i would throw that out so your daughter doesn’t get sick.
