  • This video premiered on MTV/VH1 in 2000. The idea was based on the Elvis And The Attractions "Pump It Up Video"... Josh's Grestch "Clipper" was lost on the flight to Los Angeles so he borrowed a much nicer one from his friend Matthew Sweet of "Girlfriend" fame. This was directed by the very talented Eric Heimbold.

Was reading more about Robin Williams untimely passing today, when this song came through my head at work, and gut punched me. Really made me wonder what it must have felt like to have had so much, and not be able to feel the love of a world that will now be forever less. I cannot imagine what it must have been like to be such a huge personality, and feel so alone.

Pure raw unbridled talent, good beat and tempo, crisp clean vocals, thoughtful lyrics, sweet sound of the instruments, and soo fn relatable. I grew up listening to this beautiful quite palpable type music that speaks to the soul, like Wonderwall by Oasis, Jumper by Third Eye Blind, Hands by Jewel, Black Balloon by The Goo Goo Dolls, What if God was One of Us by Joan Osbourne, just to name a few. So indeed a tap of the cap to ya, and please by all means take a bow haha! 😜🌹

Just goes to show you don't need bombastics and "ground breaking" new ideas - genuinely good songwriting knocks it out of the park every time.
Music and life can be so interconnected - in the weeks before my best friend died, an old song from childhood kept running through my head - For The Beauty Of The Earth - or the Christmas version (different words) As In Gladness Men Of Old -- over and over in my head for a couple weeks before.
Then I got the news and about a week later there was the funeral. What was being played by the organist as the prelude? For The Beauty Of The Earth. Isn't that how premonitions and prophecies go? Totally unhelpful except in proving foreknowledge after the fact. F you, spirits in the sky.
The two songs that kept coming back to me afterward - were Camera One and March To The Sea by Baroness.
I did a cover of Camera One for my friend I guess partly because there's nothing out there on him anymore - I mean, there's a scholarship fund in his memory at his school but all obituaries, anything about him is GONE. I don't get it and I'm not sure how to broach the subject to his family - did they take them all down?
Here it is, for him or anyone in a similar situation ruclips.net/video/tIkVoNoQq9w/видео.html
