Listening to Radiohead is like coming home.
Natalya always...💖
Damn right.
Natalya indeed
wow
Such a relief!
Thom Yorke has helped me a lot with my insecurities. I always felt imperfect and too moody/uninteresting to ever be loved by another person but seeing Yorke embracing his imperfections and expressing sadness unapologetically made me realize that you can be both and still be a worthwhile human being. I owe a lot to this guy.
I wish i could do that. I was raised in the MOST macho house hold and i was the youngest boy of the family who had long hair, liked music, drew, and wrote poems. But even getting close to 30 i still feel weird sharing my stuff with anyone. I dont understand how someone could sing in front of people something that they wrote. I feel weird just playing something i wrote on an instrument.
Big respect to even rip-off asshole lead singers. It takes guts to put yourself out there for the world to see. Or even a loved one.
Aw 💞💗🐳
Good on you mate I need to try that thank you good man👍👌
Justinian ~ I wish I’d heard this earlier in my life perhaps I’d have the same results as you. ☮️
Do you know the man personally? Just asking.
This is such a beautiful song. This used to be my wife’s favorite song. We played this at her funeral as her last request before she passed away. Every time I listen to this, it gets too emotional.

My dad passed away yesterday and now I'm making a playlist with all the songs he loved and I remember him by. This is one of them. Thank you dad for showing me the greatest artists of all times. Loved, missed and never forgotten 🤘🔥❤🙏
I totally understand! I started to listen to radiohead for the same reason, I hope you are doing great ik it's not easy
sorry to hear about your dad. You take care of yourself ok.
Ur dad is great and amazing❤❤❤
I'm sorry for your lost ❤ he will live forever in this song ❤
It’s so much touched. ❤
I was about 23 years old when high n dry released.
Now I'm 50 and I still love this song as much as I love Radiohead.
I was in the midst of a break up with my first love when I first heard this song.
I stayed up all night listening to high n dry with tears in my eyes, not knowing how to cope with this loss.
As I got older, I loved this song even more, because as I matured, everything took on different meanings.
Now, at 50, I love this song for what it did for me and how it will define moments of my life going forward.
Wow, I didn't realize this song was that old but I'm almost 50 so it made me curious. I thought it was from circa 2010. Turns out it was released the year I graduated college. Man I feel old! haha
52 here and remember watching the original video with my girlfriend in her little one room apartment!
It's a deeply impacting song and that video back then was much better...like a little story on old film.
Nonetheless a touching moving song for alot of us!

[Verse 1]
Two jumps in a week, I bet you
Think that's pretty clever, don't you, boy
Flying on your motorcycle
Watching all the ground beneath you drop
You'd kill yourself for recognition
Kill yourself to never, ever stop
You broke another mirror
You're turning into something you are not
[Chorus]
Don't leave me high
Don't leave me dry
Don't leave me high
Don't leave me dry
[Verse 2]
Drying up in conversation
You will be the one who cannot talk
All your insides fall to pieces
You just sit there wishing you could still make love
They're the ones who'll hate you
When you think you've got the world all sussed out
They're the ones who'll spit at you
You will be the one screaming out
[Chorus]
Don't leave me high
Don't leave me dry
Don't leave me high
Don't leave me dry
[Guitar Solo]
[Bridge]
Oh, it's the best thing that you've ever had
The best thing that you've ever, ever had
It's the best thing that you've ever had
The best thing you've had has gone away
[Chorus]
So don't leave me high
Don't leave me dry
Don't leave me high
Don't leave me dry
Don't leave me high
Don't leave me high
Don't leave me dry
Huh. I always thought it was "While your insides fall to pieces," but that makes sense also.

This song could be a chilling warning against me. Thing is, I understood the meaning of the song for a while, and then I still made the same mistakes. And I did lose the best thing I ever had.

I'm here bc Seungmin covers this song on "song by" ♥️
This song is so beautiful ♥️
I remember listening to this while driving home after the last day of high school. I remember driving while looking at the building and the song playing as it was leaving my line of sight. It definitely wasn’t a deeply sentimental moment but I’ll forever associate this song with that one memory in particular, it kind of feels like a movie scene in retrospect
the song overall is just late 90's - early 2000's nostalgia. The last bit of alternative music to live. A slow mellow tune with a hopeful truthful breeze to a great sadness. Music was so much better back then....
I luv when a specific song doubles as the soundtrack to your life, at time it always brings back in focus vivid memory
I have a moment like that too, with a different Radiohead song. There's just nothing like them
I miss the early 2000s 😭😭😭
I did the same thing when I graduated high school last year
That solo gets me everytime
Just to prove that the simplest solo is sometimes better
Neil Young would help validate this argument
me: mom, can we have Justin Y?
mom: we have Justin Y at home
the Justin Y at home:
Radio head is the best 🤘 but you must hear “Winding Road” by SLT 🔥🎸🎧
Tell that to Neil Young
I was just thinking about the level of ability it takes to play the intro up at the 11th fret and the slides etc, vs that solo LOL. I never got to see them live but did he ever let loose a little more on that part I wonder??
Here after Seungmin`s cover 😊❤ he did so well, made me enjoy the song

This song got me through a breakup with an extreme narcissist. “You'd kill yourself for recognition
Kill yourself to never, ever stop
You broke another mirror
You're turning into something you are not” pretty much sums up our relationship. Such an amazing song representing such complex emotions ❤️
I have been through the same, who broke the mirror? Was it both of ya?
Hope you are doing much better now!!!!
It sums up pretty much the today's society.
This is the most conventional song they ever did yet it still has that Radiohead like feel.

You listen to this song your whole life and then suddenly you’re 28 and you realize you’ve turned into the kind of person that the lyrics describe.
And it hurts in a very peculiar way
Are you paralyzed? Then you haven't become that person. Rejoice!
@HumanPerson o
Having turned 28 on 12/17 a few days ago and have heard the song throughout my life especially during the late 90s. As a young kid listening to bands like the Doors, Jimi Hendrix, and Pink Floyd in the backseat of Dad's Lincoln town car We would visit my grandpa in Redford Michigan every summer I'd stay and spend time over there. (I loved not wearing a seatbelt, Dad would fly down I96 back towards the Ambassador bridge from Wayne county and I'd be laughing and smiling all the way as we ripped at speeds of 150mph with the music cranked "Welcome to the Machine" batting out from the vehicle. In Leamington, We would go to the beach and frequent our swimming spot daily. And bands like Vertical Horizon and Nirvana, Radio Head Oasis would always be playing on the radio. There's a certain nostalgia that comes to mind from that period in my life even so later in my senior years in high school after meeting my high school sweetheart, now separated kids mother. Losing a dear best friend from a terrible canoe accident. We eventually grew apart once our friend passed and thus the trials and subtle beauty in moments we shared could and would make a great movie on young teenage angst and love and loss and the power of overcoming difficult hardships to come full circle after years of silence. Great song and great music move spirit to other dimensions and places beyond the practical world we live in. Thanks and Cheers.
And you are still young and can do something about it.

I'm at that point now where you were 3 years ago all because of a woman that I'm deeply and dearly in love with that is 5,000 miles away from me in the little country of Romania. She knows exactly how much that I'm in love with her and I know the love she has for me. The love that every human being dreams of. Her circumstances of her life continues to draw her away from me just as my very own circumstances draw me away from her. She's a supermodel to 300,000 men all around this world who have so much to offer her then I do financially. I have this deep gut feeling that she will eventually leave me high and dry one day. My gut feelings always become reality and so afraid this gut feeling I've been having about her will become true too one day too and I'm sinking into the deepest darkness depression of my life. She is becoming someone that she is not over in her country. If my gut feeling becomes a real and true reality I will not want to continue my life without her 💔 this is my song about her & I
❤❤❤

Really great song, thank you, Seungmin
I was in my early 20s when this song came out. Years before I went to a concert where REM were performing, the Radiohead was the opening band and I was blown away. At that time I was an university student with many dreams in the drawer, along with some CDs and those stupid and useless things that we usually put in them. I was studying Medicine hoping to replenish that bag full of expectations that my parents (all doctors in the family) had but I was often restless and distracted. I remember the scent of the women I was with, that of the weed I used sometimes to smoke, the noise of street vendors and the news talking about the many deaths because of the MAFIA. The 90s were really hard for us Sicilians and still are. Today I am 47 years old, I lived in different countries in Europe and not only, I am not a doctor (I decided to quit 😊) and today I work as a manager in the IT world. I am since years with a woman who looks like a gift from heaven and in a few days I will be a father of a boy whose name will be that of my father to whom I owe, despite the disappointments given, everything and who never left me alone in my path . I hope I can teach my son how important music is in our life, because it not only fills the soul but it has that magical power to make you travel back and relive everything with open eyes. Radiohead is and always will be my favorite band and when I listen to a song like this I turn twenty and suddenly a smile mix of sweetness, sadness and joy colors my face (sorry for my English :D )
thanks for sharing.

It's difficult to find proper words to describe the magic of this song. I heard it in a passing back in early 2000s. Yes, only 2000s, because I grew up in Eastern Europe, didn't have internet, you could find maybe one or two copies of The Bends in your city, which cost 10% of mom's monthly salary. Good music wasn't something you could easily have. Pirated CDs everywhere, but they didn't even pirate Radiohead. And then you hear this masterpiece. It's so special, it's so beautiful. Still is, after all this time :)

Or releases the potential for the person you will inevitably become.
Then i'm The saddest person in The world (?)
:')
This might be the worst youtube comment i've ever read

Perfect song. Timeless.
"The best thing you have had is gone away"
Lol that was me when I found out there were no mentos left in the house 😅
Reminds me of Wilde, Each man kills the thing he loves
The best thing I ever had, my brother, has gone away😭💔
@@Liz-Marie617 Oh I'm so sorry for you
@@perrytheplatypus3950 thank you hun
This is a great song, but every time I listen to it, I get a really sad feeling of nostalgia of my not so distant younger years when I had friends and wasn't entirely lost.
Hi I recommend a Song Called 'the bond villain' by Robert Nix
And you will find yourself, never doubt that

I was 16 and snowboarding in the B.C interior for the first time. An angry young man without the skills to understand the world... finally alone in the moment and too busy feeling to dwell on his well worn repertoire of caustic thoughs. This music in his ears all the while, at least untill the cassette ends and heads for what seems like an infinity of rewinds and replays. Just as good then as it is to my 43 year old ears now. Thanks
Fantastic, timeless song. Haven’t heard this in ages and got asked to cover this for a band. Such a great tune that I can just put on loop for hours.
in the silence this song is my earworm scaring me half to death.
When I listen to this song from start to finish it feels like the moment you see your love for the first time and the feeling of losing your love all at the same time
Don't be sad baby I feel the same way too
