Loved the vlog bestie! Super interesting topic of discussion. We live in our heads so much it’s so peaceful to just live in the world outside of ourselves.
This was such a lovely reminder of why we need art, it takes us outside of ourselves so that we can connect with each other. Also really loved reading 7 days in June, hope you like it!
I totally agree and with thing getting more digital (the stronger presence ai will play in our lives) we’re going to NEED art. I’ve been enjoying reading it so far 💕💕
I would highly recommend reading diaries of people. It decenters you in the ways you expressed you wanted to experience that. There is something so anchoring in reading someone else from ages ago go through the same motions of life. Super enjoyed this video and it gave me something to think about. Tyyy xxxx ❤
I love this kind of content and I guess that's why RUclips recommended me this video! I've subscribed because as another young Muslim girl I love to see authentic and genuinely 'made with love/ passion' video topics. I love when you speak about looking at people's shoes making a commute less boring, 100% gonna try that on my uni commute cos otherwise I'm just blasting music and scrolling for two hours a day which is probably not great mentally haha. Anyway I can't wait to see more of your videos
When the music came in on the shot in the train, it created a feeling of connection because I have always looked at people's shoes, especially on the train. Great music choice for this scene as well. I'm glad I found this video :)
I definitely relate to wanting to decenter! It’s hard to put my finger on but I think those concepts you mentioned like “main character”, “it girl” etc do have a dark side to them. I want to be a more selfless and considerate person.
I think they start off with good intentions, but like many things on the internet become slightly toxic. Yeah I think sometimes we need a break from ourselves tbh 😂😂😂 I know I do x
Watching it on the 1st of January and love love love it! Also, just checked a local museum is open today and going there right after finishing this video, thanks for the inspo (and thoughts for the future) ❤
I agree, although I think narcissism is a spectrum (not always extreme). But yeah, an overall self-centredness that doesn’t leave space for others or their feelings

read essays instead of self help books! or memoirs! i think those give you more insight and value than self help books
I have been trying, found some great essays on substack which I have been enjoying. Will defo give some memoirs a try, thank you 💛

I feel like the word shouldn’t be narcissistic but conceited, egoistic and selfish

Preach my girl, preach!
Glad to know I'm not the only one that feels this way !
