  • @JLLawnservice
    @JLLawnservice 2 года назад +10

    The days of cutting a lawn for $20 are over. Just a few years ago I started to charge a minimum. That’s where it’s starts and then when I visit the property if the scope of the work warrants an increase in price it is explained to the customer. After 18 seasons I’ve developed ideal customers that match my equipment and maintain or increase my productivity ( profit ). Most of my customers are not capable of maintaining their lawn. They appreciate me more than my actual service because I developed a working relationship with them. I have some who are wealthy enough to pay for my service. Prices are going up this year I do not anticipate any rejections. Keith, you always hit the right topics with your content brother! I sometimes ask people who have boats and expensive cars in their driveway what it took to acquire those luxuries. They told me “I didn’t charge $20 to mow lawns” . Keep them coming Keith!!

    Keith. I grew up in gangs. A southsider in Sacramento CA. So if you can imagine. You got the world against you. I'm also 3rd generation Chicano and my Spanish isn't good at all. Bottom of the barrel situation. Mexicans see me as a bum. And English speaking society sees me the same. At the same time I sorta fucked my life off for the first 21yrs. never had a single job. I am 29 now. Slave labored sun up to sun down for less than minimum wage. I'm a professional shoveler. Because i was the fastest and most precise I got stuck at the bottom. All time shoveler. I just wanna say I made 1,600 in one day. 2,400 in 4 days. Before this my record was 550 in one day. Your not preaching mediocrity. Your teaching the steps to go from mediocrity to champion. Thank you. I'm a mind guy myself and I see what your trying to put into words. Because of your wisdom and advice I have begun to do the impossible. Hard as fuck but I'm loving the challenge. Refuse to lose mind. Still at the bottom gona see how far this adventure goes. Thank you 😎🤝💪

    This winter, I raised prices on 80% of our snow removal customers by 15-20%. I was scared of losing most of my business and dreaded the difficult conversations. At the end of it all, I didn't lose a single one. Doing the same thing for lawn care this year and adjusting our rate for landscaping jobs as well... Inflation is happening. Equipment prices soaring. Labor is more difficult to find than ever before. The demand for services is through the roof. We need to have our numbers right!!

    If you cut out the customers you wouldn’t have a business? Customers couldn’t give a shit about you, if you eat dog shit for lunch so long as you give them a discount they are your best friend. I’ve seen customers of mine out and about on the weekends and they will snub me and duck and hide rather than say hello or buy me a drink. Yes there are good customers and then there are bad. But remember to keep people on a short leash as they will screw you over at some point in time!

    With the current state of inflation (worldwide) you either raising your prices by at least 10% this year or have fun working for free. That won't be me. Already overheard other snow removal companies in my area complaining that they're not making enough this winter. Of course they're charging less than me so they can get the contract. What you expect? Meanwhile I raised my prices and maxed out so now I don't have to worry about the inflation so much. The days of lowballers are over!
