A very solid list! I can agree with this ranking.
Thanks dude! Look at that Pearlescent Fish!

@Ki11er Six Glad something other than Bl2 is number 1
Of joltz did this list it would be all BL2
With TTOADK at 1

@@ASirensFlame why are you so angry about everything?
The Claptrap DLC feels like you're playing a dream that you can actually remember. The world they created and the way it was shown is something you can only do in a video game. Claptraps story will also stay with you long after you've finished the game. Also glitch guns were easily my favorite guns in the whole series.
That's essentially what you are doing. You're a digital representation of yourself, in a digital world, a la The Matrix. It was an amazing expansion!
During Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep you forgot to mention it was literally so good and beloved that we got an entire spin-off game cuz of it xD
The only thing I really hate about the General Knoxx dlc is that you can’t fast travel to the others locations in the dlc so you wouldn’t have to drive so much.
Exactly, if you could even just save quit and spawn at the same map it would skyrocket it up the ranking cause that's it's other issue, you quit out to respawn at t-bone
@@jakecoyne3919 yep agreed, while the claptrap and zombie island dlc did the same thing wasn’t nearly as bad as on General Knoxx. Such a pain too trying to farm the Armory and Ajax Ogre, would be so much easier if you could actually fast travel to the other locations wish they would’ve fixed it in the new goty edition
@@toddtaylor8368 either fast travel to them or just load in from the same zone, regardless both would've made every dlc way better
The fact they didn't add fast travel points to the bl1 remaster is CRIMINAL
@@bellystraw especially since the rest of bl1 had them
As much as its story was a little crimped by COVID screwing up its development, I'm a big fan of Psycho Krieg and the Fantastic Fustercluck.
I've always had a soft spot for the big guy (he says all the stuff most people keep inside, yanno?) and it was cool to see things from his point of view and explore how he processes his trauma and interacts with his more coherent friends. The environments really did some heavy lifting, and the music was top-notch. (Even Evil Lilith's immunity phase isn't so bad, since you get to listen to An Endless Blade during it.) Absolutely spectacular, would get jumpscared again.
Each of them have unique and hilarious dialogues but... Nothing beats the ones from Mr. Torgue DLC
Commander Lilith DLC (WAS) FREE.. but it is now full price
If you had season pass one for borderlands 3 you got it for free
@@noahdean9685 yeah I had to pay because I got the disc copy of the handsome collection and that didn’t come with it 😔
@@kahlebarnold9979 I did too but it was Still free for me? Shoulda been quicker I suppose
@@noahdean9685 You actually didn't need to own BL3 season pass to get Commander Lilith DLC.
It was first added for free to anyone owning BL2 at the time it was released and I had Steam copy...
Unless you meant that we need Season Pass now to get it for free.
@@noahdean9685 I don’t have it but I got the bl3 pass one and two on release of them
Finally sombeody who appreciates the pre sequel and how good it would of been had they given it more content. People dont appreciate enough that each character had unique dialog to another and reacted dynamically to others so each playthrough everyone would say some different depending on whose there and who ya played with made going through the story less stale and its a feature that they sadly didnt bring back.
that and the pre sequel had the highest quality on playable characters.
They are all super diverse with their playstyle with little to no real overlapp and creative gimmicks (except for Whilhelm, who is just a worse Doppleganger)
The Pre-sequel is hands down, the BEST Borderlands game ever... because you can play as Claptrap! Change my mind...
Love seeing the respect for Claptastic Voyage, it’s my favorite dlc and a huge part of what draws me back to the Pre-Sequel. Spent so many hours farming EOS, and guns like the Luck Cannon, Absolute Zero, Flayer, and Thunderfire remain some of my favorite in the series
I'd say that the Bounty of Blood ought to have been one of the main plot points and Gehenna one of the main planets in Borderlands 3. They did an excellent job on it.
I love the handsome jackpot DLC I hope they continue to make references to handsome Jack or add new lore to his character while still keeping that amazing villain character with a hero complex!
To add to that point I'd like to see more lore for General Knoxx just because, like K6 described him, was very snarky & helped create a villain in Handsome Jack. Give me more of those two please.
@@vault14hunter I agree I want to see more of commandant steel maybe like a prequel before borderlands 1!
@@DokkanG0D when I first saw him I was like he's going to betray us and then he betray us and I'm like I called it!
@@DokkanG0D OMG, there needs to be a way to trigger a raid boss version of Freddie. I'm thinking, three phases that are randomly decided from an assortment of phases that are based on various 80s action flicks, and a dance off. 🤣
I really hope they bring back the Glitch rarity guns. Honestly one of the coolest weapon effects and had some extremely broken interactions with some weapons. Like a Scav rocket launcher that you can fire like a machine gun or a Sniper that could one shot any basic mob. And it added in a new kind of farm rarity that was not absurdly difficult to get, but still required a bit of luck to obtain the one that you wanted. The luneshine effects though did bring a bit of a foreshadowing of anointments in bl3, but overall were not too bad. The most notable thing was when you got a gun with a luneshine effect it actually made the gun look different and feel more unique compared to the non-luneshine variant. That and the bonus effects were not as impactful as bl3 anointments so it did not feel like a requirement for end game builds. If only the pre-sequel actually had a end game.
"It feels like you're just driving throughout the the maps."
I know how you feel. General Knox was literaly a drive around dlc but still good.😭
Pre sequel definitely was underrated one dlc but it was awesome and i like how claptrap had a pirate ship skill
So strange that the company that gave all this great free content is the same company that produced the TTWL season pass.
For me, Zombie Island of Dr. Ned will always be in my top 3. I got Borderlands 1 near release and co-oped it with my best friend and we enjoyed ourselves, but it wasn't until that first DLC that we fell in love with it. That was the turning point for the franchise, when it embraced the humor and insanity the series would become known for. Love it.
Headhunters are seriously underrated. I think the only one I'm not super fond of is the Ravenous Wattlegobbler. I just never get good loot from it, but it is saved by having Mr. Torgue. They're just the right length that you can quickly pop in, get an easy level up, you're almost guaranteed to get something interesting by the end up it, and they're all really well themed. I think when I bought BL2 it was on a Steam summer sale and I got each headhunter for only $1. I've probably spent over 100 hours in each, some are probably closer to 300 hours.
The claptastic voyage came with one of the best songs I heard at the time. It's on my top 10 best game songs
Which one was it? 🙂
Mainframe
@@Ki11ersixI like the size of your mainframe
For me, it’s gotta be Mr. Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage. Yes I know that it doesn’t tug on the heart strings or have god tier weapons but, the Kitten and Slow Hand aren’t that bad. The Torgue vending machines are also VERY useful, sure it may take a bit of farming, but you can have an Unkempt Harold without having to fight Savage Lee. Oh and Mr Torgue as well. Probably one of the funniest characters in the whole series. From his never ending ‘guitar’ solos to him selling the Torgue company for 12 dollars and a high five, he is absolutely amazing and I love him.
Thanks for making this list! You inspired me to pick back up and play through a couple of these that I originally missed in my play through of these games due to the sheer overwhelming amount of content to chose from in bl2.
Hard to argue with picks for the top 2. Those two are the best add-ons and I can understand the hard choice about which is first and which is second. They are just some of the best content in the Borderlands franchise.
Maliwan Takedown doesn’t need a Knoxx style armory and that’s because Wotan is already an armory himself
Properly developed, TPS would have been the definitve Borderlands game. Hopefully 4 will take the best elements from each game and go from there.
If it had more content it would be top tier
At least a 5th vault hunter for BL3 would be super welcome. Maybe released with a Commander Lilith style intro dlc to BL4 eventually just to get people fired up again.
Would be AWESOME
Claptastic voyage is the only dlc where I acutally reset my story playthrough just so I could play it again more than once at max level.
As someone that likes games like Bloodborne and Darkest Dungeon, I utterly fell in love with "Guns, Love and Tentacles"!
Mancubus from guns, love and tentacles. That dlc and the handsome jackpot are favorites for me. All the dlc/add-on content I've played has been has been fun though with fresh loot, locations, creatures etc. The ambush mechanic with their cartel beacons and air drop locations in arms race I think is nice too since they help make the shooting game fun and fluid and have nice rewards between them with lootsplosions and chests to open
I wish Borderlands 2 had a room like General Knoxx armory room.
Just finished general knoxx dlc with a friend again... fucking hell the driving back and forth was probably like +90% of the time spent in that dlc
Great list K6...and great to see the Pre Sequel get some love..
Long time subscriber man and I agree with the claptrap dlc. Glitched weapons alone makes me go back every now and then. With the Jacob’s yellow glitch to other weapons was a nice touch.
Dunno if it's my absolute favourite, but I think Guns, Love and Tentacles absolutely would make my top 10. Great gear, enjoyable characters, fun overall setting and some very solid writing. Probably would put it above the Commander Lilith DLC simply because there's more story and overall content to be had.
Correction: Commander Lilith and the Fight for Sanctuary isn’t free, it was free for the first two weeks however.
Even though i'm not a huge fan of Borderlands 3, one of my favourite DLC is Hamerlock's dlc in Borderlands 3. I remember those times when it was the beginning of lockdown and DLC was released. Maybe I look at this DLC through a prism of nostalgia but the reason doesn't matter. For me personally it was something fun that could make those "grey lockdown days" better
I love Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep, but Claptastic Voyage is my favourite Borderlands content, period. It's not even close.
I kinda agree with the list.
I would create new character for pre sequel only for the clap trap DLC.
I kinda did nont like playing with claptrap but I had to for the fun of having him inside himself.
“Now this DLC was Free”
Gearbox: Oh wait that wasn’t supposed to happen, lemme fix that
They made it free for the first month of release. Pretty awesome deal
I think it’s insane that us borderlands players still can go back and play the games and maybe even still play side missions we haven’t played before . Idk how they did up but borderlands will last forever and I fucken love it aha
Tbh the only problem I have with TPS is the campaign itself. Love the combat and jacks story, but it feels so drawn out. If they made a few cuts in the story I would honestly be playing TPS rn
This list probably hit everything I like about the franchise itself & I don't think I'd change anything as far as mentions, but I would switch #1 & #2 just because the emotions running through me with that story. Pretty sure I cried when they did. (I'm not saying who bc spoilers obviously)
I can agree with this list but personally the way Assault on Dragon Keep with the grief and depression due to the death of Bloodwing and Roland makes it for me the best dlc or add on content in video game history
Personally for me my favorite would have to be either Psycho Krieg and the Fantastic Fustercluck or Arms Race from BL3. For Fustercluck I loved the absolute over the top nature and story with Krieg getting to grips with his 2 sides, and for Arms Race I mainly like it due to being something different from the usual dlc. A damn shame they didn't expand much on it :/
Honestly love seeing that notification about your uploads ahahaha always out em on to fall asleep to n end up watching 5/6
K6 kinda perfected this list. Like I would like to add Boderlands 3 Guns Love and Tentacles.
I’d honestly say the best add-on has gotta be that one dlc, y’know?
Yeah. That one
It's definetly one of the DLC of all time
The glitch rarity of gun was awesome, but they only make sense within the context of that particular expansion, as we are running around inside Claptrap's head... we're surfing the digital waves... think Keanu in the Matrix... especially the 'white gun room'... hence the Ear Worm quest (Which was freaking amazing)!
Althought I played a fair amount of BL:TPS I never played the claptastic voyage!! I'll be sure to check it out great video K6! So much knowledge. Thankyou
It’s great
Controversial opinion, but one of the most charming DLC's in my opinion has to be Hammerlock's hunt, simply because the antagonist instead of being this megalomaniac, is just this dude with a hyper-fixation on a bad influence, who immediately understands how outclassed he is when he announces his presence and Hammerlock doesn't even know who he is. He realizes in the span of mere moments how inconsequential he is and immediately recognizes how badly he messed up by making first contact.
Nakeyama is great. Problem is the wide open empty maps, fetch quests and poorly scaled raid bosses and gear.
The Cartel is my fav Borderlands Extra content ever the music arena the bosses the weapons are perfect especially with the amazing gameplay of borderlands 3
@9:20 I actually shed a tear after I beat bl2 for the first time when I was 10
One thing i missed on the list personally was the guns love and tentacles dlc. It's not the best in any regard, but it was a really good allrounder
And Wainwright and Hammerlock are just the best
I can't believe you didn't include Torgue's DLC from 2.
Like I'm legitimately shocked. Yeah sure the boss fights were all pretty annoying but I thought it was one of the most enjoyable and hilarious things they'd ever done, and thoroughly enjoyed going through it with a friend.
Well, I loved the Campaign of Carnage too, but I prefer all these other pieces of content a bit more.
@@Ki11ersix fair enough, it's all subjective. I'm still just annoyed that Torgue barely got used in 3 or Wonderlands
Torgue was pretty great in Wonderlands
@@Ki11ersix bro boomed the ocean away lmfao
Good list K6! Hope you had a nice Thanksgiving!
I kinda expected you to put psycho krieg and the fantastic fustercluck somewhere on that list. Other than that, I agree with these for the most part.
Not a big fan of that one personally.
The Handsome Collection is just a ridiculous amount of content, originally had it on PS4 Pro on one of the free monthly games, grabbed it for PC for 15 bones the other day, even better on PC, like most everything else😉
Tbf. I dont think maliwan takedown really needs a loot armory, cause it already kinda had one. Not a treasure room, like you have with the armory, but more wotan himself. You got the bottom half, top half, the brain and four additional legs. And if you wait a bit for wotan to spawn the two kraken bots, you got two more loot pinatas. Overall, a good amount of loot for the effort you invest there.
I pretty much agree with this whole list. I think that Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep is such a perfect piece of content though that it just made sense that they decided to (try) developing a standalone spinoff in the form of Wonderlands. Dragon Keep is probably up there with the Shivering Isles in the list of top 5 pieces of video game DLC of all time.
Hell Nah you placed Knoxx perfectly. They killed me with their lack of fast travel. The Takedowns were a double edge sword. It was that very content's reception that made GearBox think it was OK to give us what they did with Wonderlands.
I don’t understand the last bit. I think everyone was vocal about issues with Guardian Takedown
I love headhunter pack - I just love to celebrate holidays with it! And it is the reason I play BL2 to this day, even tho I have BL3 and a lot of other games!
Super hard to pick on those first 2 that is for sure. Although many will have them reversed I like the order due to the final boos fights and glitched weapons.
My favorite dlc is the claptrap robolution from 1. The chest room at the end is the best
I love the Knoxx DLC but you're right, the insane amount of time you spend driving about really let's it down.
Really good list, hard to disagree with any of it.
Wotan dropped the definitely not from another game gun, very cool.
Maliwan Takedown on True Trial is the best thing I’ve ever played
Don't forget the Omni-Cannon in the claptastic voyage dlc.
#1 was obviously going to be Dr Ned’s Zombie island we all knew it
lol
Actually one of my favourites
You definitely got number one right. Great list. 🙂
Absolutely viable list, but in my opinion I think Fustercluck and Guns Love and Tentacles need to be in the top 10, the return of multiple characters, crazy good loot, amazing storylines, and insane map designs and enemy type diversity.
Hopefully if they do bring back the glitch rarity they expand on the glitch types and go beyond just weapons.
My favorite DLC is a tie - Dragon Keep and Captain Scarlett from Borderlands 2.
"Hopefully Gearbox learns from not adding additional Vault Hunters in the future." Truer words have never been spoken.
nice to see that og phsycho countdown
Any content with Mr. Torgue. He has some of my favorite lines.

I really hope that they have something else in the pipeline for content on at least one of the current titles. Assuming we're probably a couple of years out from Borderlands 4. They're really going to need something to hold interest of their fans
I was so happy when Tiny Tina's Wonderlands was on sale and bought it and currently not enjoying it. So far have played it for 8 hours(owed it for 15 day's). Have had to restart the game multiple times due to game stopping bugs/glitches from the map and text being unreadable, to the sun and glare being so bright can't see anything(plus could not access the overland map at one point).
I liked the robolution cause claptrap as a actual boss and threatening villain was cool
I'll probably reinstall the pre sequel even though I didn't much fun the first to.e around I'll gladly give it another try
Before i started watching this video i already knew what is gonna be top1 ;)
Hope tps will get some love touch in future
You're the best K6!
I love that you called the sorcerer 'the dragon lord'. Glad I am not the only one who feels they are kinda similar bosses XD
Oops lol
For me it's a toss up between the bloody harvest and cartels. I like the Halloween theme and I like the music on villa ultraviolet
I personally enjoyed all the DLC from the first borderlands game but then again I started playing borderlands one when it first came out and I enjoyed it and then I played borderlands 2 Pre-Sequel borderlands 3 I don't know I know everyone's got a fun place for borderlands 2 but I still enjoyed the first one the most don't get me wrong borderlands 2 it's fun as hell but I always have a soft spot for the first game in my anarchy smg and chimera
maliwan takedown is peak borderlands to me
Trippin
When I first played through Borderlands with a friend, I was bored with the game due to the bland environments, one dimensional villains and almost non-existent story.
My opinion changed when we loaded into the Zombie Island DLC. The humour started to surface, the characters got more zany and their dialogue was delivered with more emotion. Enemies had new mechanics like Wereskags that heal damage and become more ferocious. Locations that were more varied and easily identified. And a mystery to uncover (also love the Scooby Doo Easter egg).
I will always have a soft spot for Zombie Island because it was my real introduction to the enjoyment the Borderlands franchise had to offer.
An extremely solid list. The only point I'll contest is Bounty of Blood because I think Guns, Love, and Tentacles is more fun and interesting from a story side of things. Though, to be honest, I was extremely burnt out by the time Bounty of Blood released, so I haven't even given it a proper playthrough!
IMO i love Shadow-tp from pre sequel because its make me love claptrap on another level no homo
Knoxx dlc is my favorite of all. Yeah the driving sucks, but honestly it gives me time to talk on voice chat with my friends and not focus on drops for a bit. I'm still trying to get a Serpens and Undertaker in that game and it's like 12, 13 years old? I wanna see a hunt on bl1 for the criminally insane. Lol.
TPS is the Dark Souls 2 of Borderlands.
God I LOVE DS2 and TPS.
Great video 👍🏾
Thank you! 🤗
its kinda interesting to think that the TPS and Wonderlands kind had some of the same issue when it came to endgame.
although for the pre sequel what i really killed it was the story not because it was bad but because of its horrible phasing. and then the lack of an endgame and alot of the loot being unfarmable because of the enemies being one time kill for a large portion of its lifespan. but the content it got was really good. Well maybe not holodome.
And Wonderlands really just being a unfun endgame grindfest with very specific gear to actually make you do alot of damage and how much of a slog it is to farm said gear.
I could play the zombie island one over and over
I played the fustercluck with all the vault hunters
and some of the side missions really hit close to home
If you feel broken beaten and battered
*rant
I wish Gearbox remastered the pre-sequel and BL2 with some quality of life changes
and or give the player the option to play with max lv characters from the start
Or being able to toggle off the character intro cards with the white flashes
restarting from scratch getting everyone to max lv op 10 Is rough
General Knox is great because of the loot u get
Yes I ❤ the glitch rarities 2
Personally I prefer tina but Claptastic Voyage is really good. I legitimately felt bad for claptrap. Glitch needs to come back in bl4 it was soo badass
Yes! My number 1 too
worst part of these videos is when they end and you have to click on another one. # the struggles.
I cannot say much about the BL3 stuff as I've never played them but for the rest, pretty much the same order I would have chosen
Yep the 1st 3 borderlands had great dlc pree sequel could hav had the same dlc treatment but sad it did not
