Hey thanks for watching and I appreciate the feedback - neat to see someone in Russia watch it so soon after I posted it! Your channel looks neat too, I'm going to check your videos out when I have time. I've always been interested in what Russian cities are really like. Cheers! :)
Great job as usual! I cant wait to move there. I did live in oliver for a decade in the 80's /early 90's. Whyte ave /Strathcona needs better city management and policing. Its l become excessively lawless dirty and dangerous. Part of why we lost Army and Navy and Chapters was shop lifting. I often hung around Oliver and 124 st this summer a lot. Much more relaxed vibe ,yet very urban with lots of great food and shopping options. ( Love the Old Alberts and those sweetheart waitresses ) I grew up ,still live amd own a business in Strathcona . I still love whyte ave , especially in the summer patio season. But this is the next #1 area of rhe city.
Thanks I appreciate it! It's a bit sad about the Whyte Ave area - still a great area but it has declined a bit to me too. It was the main area I used to hang around in my teen years and young adulthood. All the best with your move to Oliver, I think it's the best neighborhood in Edmonton overall and it has the best selection of living options - tons of high rise suite with surprisingly cool urban views, but I'm sure you're aware of that. I love that Alberts on 124, I actually had breakfast there for my birthday last summer, phenomenal staff!
Great video! As someone born at Edmonton General Hospital I always find Jasper Avenue between 109 St and 124 St to be my natural happy place, especially now that Burger's Priest opened up in Railtown there...
Thanks for the feedback! I love that area of Jasper Ave too and I hope it continues to improve. Honestly I find Oliver to be my favorite neighborhood in Edmonton overall, so many living options, excellent location and a ton of history and local amenities. The General Hospital is a cool building too, one of the oldest in the city and apparently one of the most haunted!
Nice change of perspective to see Edmonton so green, especially after these past cold few days. Never seen that underpass with the rail-tracks before, where can they be found? Do you happen to know if they're still operational? Other than that great video man.
Thanks I appreciate it! Yeah I agree, it was fun to go through some of that old footage where Edmonton is nice and green, especially during this cold snap. Hmmm I think those tracks run parallel to 109 street for a few blocks, to the west - it was awhile back I was walking around there! I believe that the trolley that goes over the high level bridge ends it's run somewhere on those tracks but I'm not totally sure
Great video. This is my favorite part of Downtown Edmonton although technically it is west of downtown. I really hope 124th Street becomes another Whyte Avenue in the future with lots of pedestrians more cafes and more restaurants. Jasper Avenue West of downtown is the best part of Jasper Avenue in my opinion, they just need to connect the area near 109 Street which already has lots of great restaurants and groceries, and connect it to the 124th Street area of Jasper, as in between those 2 ends, it is a little dead but ripe for revitalization.
Thanks for watching and I appreciate the feedback - I honestly think Oliver is the best neighborhood in Edmonton overall. 124 street developing nicely and it seems like the area of Jasper ave between 109 and 124 has been steadily improving too. Also the new LRT line will be running right through Oliver which will really help connect it with other areas of the city!
Oh yeah, I was starting to forget what summer looks like!
Hey thanks for watching, I still can't believe anyone has watched my little videos. Cheers!
Edmonton is a beautiful city but we rarely take the time to see it. Thank you.
Hey thanks for watching and I appreciate the feedback - hoped someone might get some value out of this little video. Cheers!
I liked this tour 😊

Yes those are the tracks for the high level street car that takes you from Oliver to the Strathcona Farmers Market near Whyte Ave
