Hi Amy!👋 we thought the same thing! It must have been a very dangerous task to build the path😳. I think this was the best coastal walk we have ever done, the views were just stunning🥰 thank you so much as always for watching. Hope you have a great week😊👍

I knew Maderia was popular with mtb but didn't realise it was popular for hiking!! Learn something new every day, and what was that big yellow thing in the sky and what is this hot that you speak of 😂

🤣🤣😎 we know, the heat and the sunshine feel like a long time ago now we are back in the UK autumn 🍂 😊. Yes Madeira is becoming very popular for hiking, there are hundreds of kilometres of hiking trails all over the island, if you ever get the chance to visit we can highly recommend it, we absolutely love it there🥰 happy Friday! Have a great weekend👋 shell and Pete

Yes we agree definitely not a walk for a vertigo sufferer! The views down to the sea were superb, worth the climb up for sure!😊. We really loved this walk and it was one of the few coastal paths on the island. The swim and the rum factory at the end of the day were lots of fun!😊. Thanks again for watching, we really appreciate it. Take care, Shell and Pete

Hi Guys, beautiful walk and stunning coast line and path. I certainly have a lot of respect for the people who cut those pathways into the rock to begin with. Must have been a dangerous job to undertake. Great video

Hi guys, you are quite right it must have been so dangerous to build these paths, it was difficult to even see the path ahead sometimes as the cliff face was so sheer. Thanks so much for watching, we really appreciate it and are glad you enjoyed the video. Take care and have a wonderful weekend, Shell and Pete😊👋

We had such a laugh in the sea with those waves, great memories of a fantastic day. I always enjoy a coastal walk but don't think i have ever done one as warm as that and just as well you have got a head for heights. I bet the sea there was a lot warmer that swimming in the Lake District tarns but what a perfect was to cool off. More of a vodka person myself but what a selection and passion fruit and mandarin sounds not bad to be fair. I think I would be done too after two of those, especially in that heat, cheers Alan

Hi Alan😊👋, thanks so much for watching and commenting on our video. We have to say this is one of those most beautiful coastal walks we have been on, the scenery was so dramatic! We loved this hike, and yes the sea was a lot warmer than the lake district tarns, although we don't have to dodge the surfers in the uk tarns so each have their pros!😆👍. We actually went for swim in the coldest water we have ever been in on our next hike / video, but also one of the most stunning locations! The poncha rum was a lovely way to finish off a fantastic day, and certainly helped numb legs! 😀 . Really appreciate you watching and hope you are having a great week. Take care, Shell and Pete

Oh, I saw the stats at end! Thanks. Is there a way to start a little further down the trail to cut the hike time down to maybe 3-4 hours? Thanks.

      Hi there,
To be honest we really took our time on this hike, so the time could be but short by quite a bit if you had a constant pace. You can also choose not to walk all the way down to porto da cruz once the coastal path ends and drops down to the road, catching a bus onto funchal etc. We are sure you will love Madeira, it is a stunning place. Happy travels and happy trials!
      Shell and Pete😊👍
