  • The Valentine is a British infantry tank, built in a variety of marks (or variants) during the war. Used extensively in the battles of North Africa it had a reputation for being a well-protected vehicle, capable of operating under heavy enemy fire. As the war progressed the little Valentine was surpassed by larger tanks, capable of mounting heavier guns and more armor.
The Valentine Expansion Pack brings another first to the World of Tanks Miniatures Game, being the first light tank. Traditionally light tanks combine high speed with the ability to scout out and distract enemy tanks, providing friendly tanks with an easier kill.
It will come as no surprise to online gamers that the Valentine is slow, in fact with a Mobility of 1 it is the slowest tank in the game, but with a reputation for having a good selection of guns and relatively high armor it is thought of as being a ‘pocket heavy tank’. Players can choose to keep the QF 6-pdr gun that is standard on the tank, or upgrade it to the QF 2-pdr Mk.X gun. This does bring down the ability of the tank to deal damage but significantly increases the tanks Initiative, allowing it to both outmaneuver the enemy and land shots quickly.
Inside the Valentine Expansion Pack you will find a highly detailed, assembled, painted plastic Valentine miniature and tank card. Your tank can be further personalized to match your requirements using the five crew, module and upgrade cards included.
The only Light Tank in Wave 1, the Valentine brings some awesome synergies to the rest of its Platoon, but only if it can get close to its target.
Contains a 1:100 scale pre-painted Tank, 5 Crew, Module, and Upgrade Cards, and an Online Bonus Code.

This tank was an early design and used for supporting infantry. Infantry would walk behind the Valentine as it moved slowly forward. Its slow due to all the armor and weak engine. Remanents of old WW1 strategy.

In regards the light tank being so slow it's a general British design theme.
They went for survivability above all else. So you will find that British tanks in general are heavily armoured in comparison to other tanks of the same class.
It's represented here by the fortress ability and of course if your tanks weighs significantly more because of extra armour but the engine is not significantly more powerful you will be much slower.
The Churchill tank is probably the best example of this.

@@Trueflights Yeah there's only a few exceptions to this in regard the British tanks the Cromwell in the core game is one example.

So there is a difference between Side shot and Rear shot? I could not find anything in the rulebook.

I could have been wrong on that. It may have been from a different game and I got them confused. I will double check. Sorry if I was mistaken, i play so many different games, every now and then i mud things up. I thought there was a flank and a rear, but like I said, I'll double check

Sorry for the long delay in replying back. There isn't a difference in the normal game. There is a Front shot or a Flanking shot. Sides and rear fall under Flanking. The ability on this track just basically counts the Sides a Front instead of Flanking so you would only get the Flanking bonus if you attack it from the Rear
