2024 Community Art Project by Children's Services Council of Palm Beach County

New picnic tables in Pahokee are more than just spots for eating. They are works of art bursting with imagination.
More than 30 Pahokee children participated this summer in a community art project that brought six, brightly-colored picnic tables to Pahokee city parks and the Pahokee Marina. The project was sponsored by Children’s Services Council of Palm Beach
County and led by Jose R. Mendez, a teaching artist and creative director of R. Dot Arts & Creative Agency.
The children created designs for the tables and brought their visions to life using acrylic paints, spray paint, clay and watercolor.
This is the third year Mendez has joined forces with Children's Services Council of Palm Beach County to add colorful picnic tables to local neighborhoods. There are now 18 tables in Lake Worth, Belle Glade and Pahokee. Each table has a QR code on it. If you ever see one of the tables, snap a photo of you on it, tag us @cscpbc and we will share it!
