These are my views on this amazing masterpiece Story of One Sky - I have watched this many times and still find things out that i never thought of amazing video and i have said it before if anyone could bring peace i strongly believe Dimash could make it possible. This needs to be shared worldwide to show people there is another way. War is never the answer because the only ones to suffer are the innocent. Rewatched the song of Dimash today one line stood out to me One of the most profound lines in The Story of One Sky is the line "Learn to share the love, Not shares" Not shares meaning stop making money out of war rich people have many shares in companies that profit from weapon manufacturing making them richer while the innocent suffer sadly this is why war exists. MONEY, GREED and POWER.
The boy who was drowning was (Dimash's character as a child) made the necklaces that were given to the girl who grew up to be (Dimash's pregnant wife) and the boy who saved him who (grew up to be the military leader), possibly out of jealousy. The military leader waged his war The part in the video with the little girl and the people in the hallway were Dimash's family who had been wiped out the little girl whose body he picked up was his daughter, the baby that was born was his son who grew up to be Dimash grown up at the end!!! The Dimash at the end can also be seen as Dimash in the afterlife leading others to the light in peace.
The This video needs to be shown worldwide. Something else i noticed is in his dying breath he sang (We're Choosing Life) as he finally passed away now that is powerful
This is one epic masterpiece from our Dimash.
Our Dimash is very vocal about the futility and human cost of war. Qazakstan only achieved independence 30 years ago, Dimash is only 28. He knows the history of his homeland and of current and past heroes of the conflict. He detests war and has stated that wars are always between two people not two nations.
He has stated that he is 'only a singer' so all he can do is 'use his voice'. This is Dimash's humility and him using his voice.
This was a project 3 years in the making on and off in-between commitments in many countries and his homeland not to mention his concerts of which there has been four in just this year alone.
The emotion, heart and soul is real and I believe this was a way for him to vent his frustration at current world events.
Director Alina Veripya is second to none in her field and portrayed everything magnificently.I believe she also directed ‘Okay’ for Dimash which was a great video.
The Story of One Sky is an absolute mind blowing masterpiece and deserves unrivalled recognition from all corners of the earth. This makes you sad, cry and smile but leaves you questioning the direction we as a humans are travelling.
Dimash promised something epic and that was a colossal understatement. He delivered as always. ❤💕
Yes - Right on the pulse. These things happening every day, in many places in the world. Not only should we stop following the Pipers - but we must not Look Away. Not a music video - but a Mini-Movie with a Maxi-Message. I too immediately thought about The Pale Blue Dot and have been referencing it on every reactor site that views this.
In Sept. of last year the Pope was visiting Kazakhstan to attend a Multi-Faith Conference and there gave Dimash a special Award to recognise this piece, (a production 3 years in the making) as an important contribution to world peace and inter-faith tolerance.
Right now, in March 2023, The Story Of One Sky is showing in an International Film Festival in London. This production should be shown everywhere.

I flew from Melbourne to Kazakhstan and had the honour of seeing Dimash perform it live. His best live performance I've ever seen, he gave it his all. Look it up, there's YT clips aplenty. And it's superior musically, IMHO, as the construction is slightly different and it's 9 mins long. The song doesn't need the video, we all got the message and the whole audience at the concert were crying. But the video is extremely brilliant, giving us more of Dimash's creative talents and I hope everyone in the world sees it at least once.
I saw the premiere of this live at his concert in Almaty. He left his entire heart and soul on that stage. It broke me completely, as it did to most of us there. The next day he gave us this music video, and it broke me all over again. This is not just a song to him. He has been working for peace his whole life, in his behaviour and in his music: War and Peace, written when he was only 18, and Ave Maria, a wordless prayer for any (or even no) religion across the world. And now this, perfect composition, perfect vocals, poignant messages. I hope this reaches millions of hearts, and we all actually listen to him. We’re choosing life!!!
That had to be almost heart stopping live, I have seen the fan cam, my heart was pounding and I have watched this video so many times, but live, oh my goodness, and to not know what was coming 😮
Yes, I saw the live version on fancam & Dimash just looked completely heart-broken at the end. He certainly gave his all to his performance. I wanted to just hug him. Even the way he walked off stage showed how much this means to him. He is just amazing ❤️

Thank you for the point you made, about Dimash being past James Bond type movies. I too feel that that is the case. Many people still talk about James Bond movies, about Dimash becoming an actor even, but I wish that he only sings and acts in pieces that he created, expressing the messages that he wants to express. Here is proof that he is very good at making his own music and stories, and that he is bigger than movies with fantasy themes. He is clearly meant for, and capable of, bigger things. In my opinion. He certainly doesn`t need the "recognition" that a mainstream movie would bring. I am certain that his fame will grow naturally, until he will be known everywhere in the world, and will have his own page in history. He is already known in 100 countries of the world. He has already earned the freedom to express through his art only the things that are very close to his heart. And he certainly doesn`t need the distortion that "talking about him on the news" would inherently bring. We`re not very good at describing or debating truly precious things on tv :)

Смотрела много реакций.В основном все понимают и принимают. но вот что удивительно, никто (из тех, кого я посмотрела) не оценил мастерство Димаша как композитора...музыка не менее потрясающая, чем видеоряд и вокал, и текст тоже.
Что бы оценить композитора нужно быть композитором , а люди слушают Голос .

But I guess we are all overwhelmed first by the message, which is what Dimash intended, then by his voice ( how could we not), and then we remember that everything hinges on the composition. It’s at first haunting, lyrical yet melancholy. It then grows… I don’t want to go on describing it… I already feel the tears welling up … Dimash is a genius at composition. That’s all there is to it. How much he’s grown since My Belle, Unforgettable Day, and War and Peace!

The pregnant woman is his wife (girl at the beach) & the little girl their daughter. So all 3 from the beach died - the woman died in childbirth, hence the necklace being put on the baby - the baby grows to become a leader of all religions in the search for peace. Dimash wrote the story, composed the music & it has taken 3 years to complete. It is a masterpiece. I liked his reference to John Lennon's 'Imagine', as we've passed the time of just thinking about peace, we need to actually DO something as it's just gotten out if hand now. Money & power are put ahead of life & its getting worse 😔😪. Great reaction & this has definitely got to he seen by as many people as possible. We have become immune to what is going on in the world & we all need to wake up before it's too late.

No-one seems to know the Pied Piper reference & usually miss the connection of the necklace totally until the very end! I think when the leader pinpoints a place on the map he is actually after Di's hometown & knows they live there which is maybe why he has tears in his eyes at the end & is shocked at seeing Di alive & out to get him! Dimash spent three years putting this video together, and it shows! The quality is absolutely superb. I’ve heard that this is now the most expensive music video ever made… and it certainly looks that way!
Dimash always delivers, but this is the first time I’ve seen where he delivers something that actually makes his voice something that is not the main focus (I mean, every other song people rave about the perfection of his voice because, well… It is perfect!) They have done a fantastic job of making the message more important than the voice, and that is a statement in itself.
I’m wondering if there are people out there that can put this piece of art in for awards. Firstly because this deserves acclaim. Secondly because awards would spread the message further.

Whether it was the most expensive MV, we do not know. Dimash and his team are not talking about money. The description of the teaser now says valuable and no longer expensive. That was probably a translation error at first.

the film is based on a story written by Dimash with his own screenplay. (I worked on this piece for 3 years). Director Alina Veripya spoke about creating the music video for the new song: the clip is divided into several parts. The first is about childhood. The main character, two friends linked by childhood stories and symbols of eternal friendship. One day the friend saves the protagonist when he drowns. However, there is already competition in these children's story, where the boys love one girl and she chooses one. The second goes through a kind of psychological The disintegration and transformation of children's problems into an adult world of totalitarianism and struggle. When he becomes a commander, the opponent carries the idea of saving the war: the young boy who presents the tokens of friendship he made will marry the girl (Dimash). She will give birth. A baby girl (murdered) and a mother waiting for another baby. He really sing us in to our soul and hearts with so mutch emotions. His acting are dam good. I wouldent have mind if it was longer . This took Dimash 3 yeears to compose and he also written the script to the video it self! He have said that this was onley the beggining...I cant even try to think about what he gonna do moore than this!!! Can you?
There are days when I despair of humanity. This video expresses exactly the pain I feel inside and at the same time it has exactly the message that could save everything and that I also represent and try to live. I wish the video would spread widely but not only in the sense, yes he's right you should, no in the way that everyone who sees the video acts on it. I'm not talking about getting rid of anyone, that wasn't the subject of the video either, it was just the perfect circle of violence as it happens over and over again.
No, stop listening to the leaders when they want things that are against humanity. Don't go to war, don't produce weapons and live real love in everyday life. The more that do, the better the world can become. In this way we can all become pieces of the puzzle of peace.
In my opinion, I think you were correct in thinking that Dimash's new born baby is being thought of as a special baby, which is why everyone was gathered around Dimash's wife as she gave birth. The symbolism of this video is spot on, this is a video that should be aired on all medias around the globe.

I would love to see this go to an independent film festival for short films. It deserves to be seen world wide. People really need to learn we are all one race Human. Cultures may be different but our race is the same. We will never truly rid ourselves of evil, but we could certainly rid ourselves of the senseless killing and violence between countries. Compromise might take work, but it is obtainable. If country leaders viewed their relationships with other countries as sort of marriages that need to last, and worked at the relationships while respecting differences we could avoid conflicts that end in losses for everyone. War has no winners. Thank you for letting us watch it with you.

Hello! Thank you for your sincere reaction. When I first heard this MV, it broke me, I became very emotional, it was heart wrenching! 😢
Dimash has worked hard for 3 years on this MV, and it turned out to be his most valuable MV, in the ideological sense, ever made, a real Masterpiece! I believe that Dimash deserves THE NOBEL PEACE PRIZE, for his selfless hard work and tireless efforts in trying to bring the world together in love, peace and unity. He is a Legend and will go down in History.
The mini movie is full of symbolisms, it's the story of 3 youths, 1) Dimash, who was drowning at the beginning and at the end; 2) Piper, the one who saved Dimash, and who became the leader, and who was killed by Dimash at the end; 3) The young girl, became Dimash’s future wife who gave birth to his son at the end, and Dimash's daughter who was killed by the Piper's army. They were all torn by the war.
For the symbolic aspects, Dimash is showing the different cultures and religions (Catholicism, Islam, Buddhism, Hindi, etc.), through the throat singing, which is called the REQUIEM (mass for the souls of the dead), from different religions. The Pilgrim or (Shepard or a Wise Man) at the end of the video was Dimash’s baby boy, born in his image and grows up to guide the Representatives of different religions and race from different Nations to the light, for a new beginning living together in peace, tolerance, love and harmony.

This is subtitled "Requiem” but it is also a vision and a call to action. Dimash is steeped in sacred music and has a deep understanding of the mystic teachings and symbolism of the major world religions as well as Kazakh shamanism. It is not by coincidence that the first performance of this work took place on September 14, 2022, at the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions in Kazakhstan. The written statement at the end of the video is directly from the “Document on Human Fraternity for World Peace and Living Together” signed jointly on February 4, 2019, by Pope Francis and the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Ahmad el-Tayeb. Dimash met and spoke with both men at the September meeting.
Everything Dimash does is intentional, and this piece has layers that would take a dissertation to unravel. I only touch on some of what struck me in the symbolism. The music is a dissertation all by itself. The pendant is an interesting element. It is a gnomon from a maritime compass sundial. This triangular blade is attached to the sundial, casting a shadow on the sundial while the perforated pinhole projects the image of the sun onto the dial. It was used for both timekeeping and navigation, with the gnomon oriented to True North. In the MV, the child who later becomes the military commander never puts on the necklace. After Dimash, the boy, gives his friend the pendant, the camera focuses on his hand and shows that his friend has bent the gnomon in anger over being rejected by the girl. Thus bent, it can never be oriented to True North, and he has lost his moral compass. Later, we see a version of the gnomon, but distorted and without the hole that allows light to shine through, as the military insignia on the uniforms of the commander and his soldiers.
Contemporary music is also present: With the phrase "We have passed the moment of Imagine," Dimash reminds us that we are past the sentiments evoked by the song "Imagine" by John Lennon. It is time to stop dreaming about a world of peace and harmony. If we choose life, if we wish for peace, if we want a world without war for our children and grandchildren, we must act and take up the long hard path up the mountain towards the light. It is the only way.
The storyline is a very human one: we start as innocents until our hearts are broken, we fail, or our dreams are not realized. If in our pain and disappointment, we turn to anger and blame instead of acceptance, power instead of love, greed and envy instead of generosity, hatred instead of forgiveness, and revenge instead of justice, we sow the seeds for conflicts that can turn into war.
The Piper's call is seductive as it promises redress for our grievances, control over our circumstances, and power over those who thwarted us, and this appeals to our wounded ego. However, let's remember that the Piper is a symbolic figure of Death from the Middle Ages, often used as a metaphor for trusting and following charismatic but dangerous and malevolent leaders to certain death. Even if we resist, as the adult Dimash character does, we often employ the same methods and weaponry as the Piper, and thus those who fight back betray peace as well because peace cannot be won through violence. That is the dilemma of those of us who did not start the war, who do not support the war, but are forced to respond in order to defend ourselves and those we love. How can we rid the world of evil without becoming what we fight against?
The burning sign "Waldenberg" is a reference to the end of WWII when the US Army destroyed the last of the resistance by the German Wehrmacht to end the war in April 1945. Waldenburg was completely destroyed as you can see from the picture. Many of the dead in those bombed out buildings were women and children. The imagery of the denouement is powerful: The cries over the loss of a beloved child and the cries of his wife giving birth to new life are presented as a call-and-response grounded by a powerful Om chant that creates a sacred space, reminding us that death and life are both sacraments and are interwoven. Dimash's vocalization and the pilgrims representing world religions and religious leaders, past and present, walking together shift the narrative toward the final conflict and finally redemption. When Dimash’s character decides to avenge the murder of his daughter, his state of consciousness is reflected in the darkening sky with lightning bolts of anger accompanying the storm of his emotions that buffet the pilgrims. The fog of war obscures the light. When he is killed after exacting retribution, he is dropped back into the "sacred womb" of Earth, the ocean of love and mercy, and is cleansed of the old hatreds and grievances that only bring more death and suffering. He breaks the wheel of endless war and suffering by choosing life. Dimash's scream of “we’re choosing life” is that of giving birth: the old earthly consciousness of an eye for an eye has to die to make way for a new spiritual consciousness that embraces all life. Soul is breaking free to return to its natural state of love and purity as exemplified by the images of the children and the newborn baby.
The blowing of the shofar signals God's mercy for humankind when it turns from wrong to right: in the Zohar, the book of Jewish mysticism, it says: “When human beings repent of their sins, they blow the shofar on earth. Its sound ascends On High and awakens the heavenly shofar, and so mercy is aroused and judgment is removed.”
Reborn as a leader for peace and love, Dimash's character in the form of his son becomes a guide for all of mankind on our shared journey up the mountain towards the light of God, however we may interpret or name the divine. We are all on the same path, even if our personal narratives, cultural heritage, and spiritual orientations are very different from one another. By focusing on our common destination rather than on our differences, we can walk together in peace and love and mutual respect.
Carl Jung wrote: “Knowing your own darkness is the best method for dealing with the darknesses of other people. One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious. The most terrifying thing is to accept oneself completely. Your visions will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.”
This is what Dimash has done with this work; he has made the darkness conscious. We can only raise our individual and collective consciousness by bringing to light what needs to be healed in our lives and our world, and then we need to work together to restore wholeness to what is broken and bring about peace and unity, one step at a time. We don’t have to wait. We can start right now. As the hymn tells us: "Let there peace in the world, and let it begin with me." Baraka Bashad.

The name "Piper" has two similar meanings: The first is a reference to the legend of the "Piper of Hamelin" who had the task of hypnotizing the city's rats and drowning them in the sea. But the flutist, unpaid, hypnotized the entire population of the city and took them to their death! It is, therefore, a seductive message that leads to death! The other meaning tells the true story of a World War II battle where insane Canadian soldier Bill Millin, called "Mad Pipper", played bagpipes at the front, dressed in a "kilt", while his comrades were killed. ! The sound of the harmonica served to muffle the shots and motivate the companions and became a symbol of the "madness of war"!

The General never wears his, but uses the symbol on his military uniform. The symbol resembles a triangle, which could be a Nazi reference.

Dimash is becoming that shepherd for Peace and not just a singer. His moral compass is so strong. By the way that motif on the necklaces is indeed from a Mariner's sundial for early navigation and the piper bends his so can't ever take the right path. Thanks Mate, from Qld.
