- A visit to the ruins of Panjikent, a Sogdian capital city on Silk Road, in Tajikistan. Abdul Rahmon, a youth from a settlement near the modern Panjikent, a student of a University in Israel, pursuing his PhD, talks about the ruins.
I am impressed at the cultural openness of the ancient city & happy to see this local researcher has revived that skill for his economic betterment.
wow!! loved it. I am exploring that region for 40 days starting this June.
What a delightful surprise!
Thank you for a fascinating video record.
Welcome to Tajikistan 🇹🇯
The Tajiks are are taking good care of their history, part of which was hinduism. Respect from an Indian. 🙏🏼You have made a nice video, so respectful of cultures there. Some Indians are only interested in the Hindu origins and minimize other religions and cultural influences and would claim it as hindu site.
@KR - Cultural exchanges and influences are like cross pollination of flowers. They are essential to bear sweet fruits of mature civilization. We must appreciate this process and respect all cultures and religions.
Love & Respect from India...

The Pakthas, Bhalanases, Vishanins, Alinas, and Sivas were the five frontier tribes. The Pakthas lived in the hills from which the Kruma originates(Maybe the Kurram Valley, Kurram comes from the word Kruma which means Elephant in Sanskrit). Zimmer locates them in present-day eastern Afghanistan, identifying them with the modern Pakhtuns.
The Pakthas were one of the Vedic tribes that fought against Sudas in the Dasarajna the Battle of the Ten Kings (dāśarājñá), a battle alluded to in Mandala 7 of the Rigveda (RV 7.18.7).
It's mentioned in
Aa Pakhtaso Bhalanaso Bhavantalinaso Vishaninah Shivasah।
Aa yo'anayatsadhama aryasya gaya tritsubhyo ajaganyudha nrin।।
(Rigved : 7:18:7)
Here God Is answering in the question- who are the great kings or whom should kings follow?
God says : Pakhta, Bhalana, Vishanin, Alina, Shiva these people are gifted with each quality which makes a man arya or noble person. They wage war against cruels, treat everyone equal, they are bearers of good deeds and famous for good speech . Kings should be like this.
These all are old hindu Kshatriya people .
