I had one of those! I used to get the story book with the little record in the flap in the back. I used to listen to little red riding hood and this lady in the beginning told you to turn the page when the chime rang. I loved it. I had about 10 or 15 record books and those were my bedtime stories.
I had one of those when I was younger. the plastic looks darker than I remember but that was way back. I wanted a walkman but I got this instead but I think I ended up liking this more. I remember listening to a soundtrack from jungle book. That memory was not remembered til I saw this video. Thanks for the flash back of my childhood, I needed a good memory today. :)
wow a 1978 record player how old school can you get lol well thats awesome it even sounds great I never actually heard one before in action but by your video its sounds like back in the day people were very classy lol
Hiya Lubos, sorry for my hiatus! I've been really busy with school. I am considering making videos again this summer, let me know what you'd be interested in watching!
Yeah,I recently picked up a Nakamichi cassette deck needing a couple repairs, and also a Nakamichi CD player that's fine, both under $50. Thrift stores can have some good stuff if you look around, and that deal on the Levi's jacket sounds nice, congrats!
I love this rather colourful little player. I think the orange tonearm goes well with the brown and beige, and the little bits of red finishes it off quite well. Very old skool. But these Fisher Price players were more than just kids toys, they were actually rather good sounding record players. In terms of sound quality, it would beat a Crosley hands down, but as far as I can remember I think these were actually produced by sony.
I used to have a record player similar to this when I was a little kid. Mine was from the late 80's to early 90's. If I remember correctly, these Fisher-Price record players were made by Sony.
I had a Fisher Price record player back in 1985, it was a bit more fancy than this and had a stereo speaker add on but it still had the Fisher Price name.
And fisher price was that cool to kids back then and well how did they start with all the non awesome stuff that lasts literrally a year or less and this still works perfectly fine now... And it actually does something awesome... How do you find this stuff?
@spearmintmonkey hehe, you mean like a crossfader? It's a kid's toy, not a DJ device ;D But seriously it's a RPM controller (e.g. speed of the record, which also alters the pitch). I know this because I'm a DJ although I don't use vinyl. :P
Yeah i know you did'nt say i had bad taste i just mentioned "that does'nt mean i have a bad taste" so that people would'nt think i'm one of those people who critise every song they don't like.
Actually, it's because I'm now studying full-time in a pretty intensive science program. I still have my games, but haven't had the time to go thrifting. Good guess though.
you should not change the speed when you are playing a record you can rune it by doing that 33/3 records go on 33/3 rpm 45 goes on 45 78 goes on 78 16 goes on 16.just giving you good tips.i know alot about record players and old stuff.
I was born in 78. This machine defined my childhood. Thank you.

that would be awesome if i could find that, I'll be looking for it, thank you.

Nice choice of tune
Congratulations on such a pick up. Thanks for sharing!
Peak sound quality!
i just bought one from Goodwill, giving it to my four yr. old.
Great sound quality for what it is.
i love this colour combination of brown, beige and orange! so 70's! reminds my childhood! :)
I found one of these yesterday while going through old stuff. Good to know it can play conventional records.
@jillpoo3 There's actually quite the market for vintage Fisher Price toys!
Yes this fisher price turntable record player also works for 12” vinyl
@spearmintmonkey no that is the rewind button so you can rewind the record.
I miss you Sonia :( Sub since 2008...
wow a 1978 record player how old school can you get lol well thats awesome it even sounds great I never actually heard one before in action but by your video its sounds like back in the day people were very classy lol

Dave Acosta there is always a possibility she will come back, probably not, but it’s always good to dream. Also, learn to use proper grammar.

I had this as a kid myself, I'm 38 now :o
I had a Fisher Price record player back in 1985, it was a bit more fancy than this and had a stereo speaker add on but it still had the Fisher Price name.

Hey, i just stumbled upon your channel and i was wondering what have you been up to recently? It's so whack to see old youtube channels.

ah, the ol madlib classic
I was hoping something like in Austin Powers where the record player just doesn't work and he ends up tossing the disc trying to take it off lol
LOOL Super thats coool
it could be that the needle is weared...don't know if this lil thing got interchangeable needles though...
I played with one when I was 5
Actually, it's because I'm now studying full-time in a pretty intensive science program. I still have my games, but haven't had the time to go thrifting. Good guess though.
Bam. Babysitting money I don't have yet spent.
i still watch your videos just because i think your really cute ...
Classy
The record's warped.
now you can go DJ-ing :D
I can't believe there are no pops whatsoever. The record and needle must be new.
There are some way in the background. The record (or platter) is seriously warped though.
David Ryder I wouldn’t necessarily say warped, I’d more call it “old”.
Crosley's fucking inspiration.
epic...
Sonia where are uuu lol
Make a video giving us your perspective on the Ps4 and Xbox One!
makes me feel like i'm playing bioshock!
Hey Sonia, whats up with the absence? U need to make another videos. I miss your chakra 8}. Hope u will read this. Good Luck.

What the hell is that, looks like a NES/FAMICON record player :P
Zro Dfects it’s a Fisher Price record player, it’s pretty cool though.

You can't ruin a record by playing it at the wrong speed. That's just a myth.
Yeah i just don't find the music as my cup of tea. But that does'nt mean i got bad taste
Nice but random as all, and post some of your type writers up!
I subcribe on you :D =)
What happened to you
