i5 runs 5-10 degrees Celsius cooler, surprisingly, even though it uses 10 -20 more watts which i imagine translates to quieter fans as well. Also, lower power usage % for the i5 vs the R7. Adding anywhere between 5 - 18 (26 max) more frames for the 7800x3D for approximately $60-$90 more dollars (USD) as of time of writing. Both great chips! However depending on what platform you are coming from or if you already have a 12th-14th gen motherboard it would be relatively much cheaper to upgrade to the 14600k with similar performance. If you are building brand new from scratch and have to buy motherboard and ram already then the R7 would net you slightly better performance in gaming while giving up some workload performance as well as a higher initial cost. Im sure any overclocking would change these figures but stock they seem to be relatively similar in gaming. Good stuff. Thanks for testing

The i5 is better! First, it’s not a direct competitor to the Ryzen 7; that would actually be the Intel i7. In tests, the i5 only loses by a small margin. However, the i5 is much cheaper than the Ryzen 7. In multicore tests for work, the i5 outperforms the Ryzen 7. Therefore, the difference in gaming performance doesn’t justify the Ryzen 7’s price. I’m going with the i5
In India, 7800x3d is going for 47000 INR and 14600k is going for 23000 INR. (source: mdcomputers, elitehubs, primeabgb). 7800x3d for more than double the price in the Indian market is not worth it at all.
Not that impressive really. Only a two games like Red Dead 2 showed a 12% gain with the x3d. Most games were only around 5-6% difference. The 14600k will provide a faster operating system experience as well along with better multi-core. Kind of a no brainer to go with the 14600k.

plus more cpu power = more heat..maybe his amd cpu cooler is running at low speed as theoretically the intel should be hotter because more pwr consumption..
I just bought the 14600KF (the version of 14600k without integrated graphic card) for 210 euro. the 7800x3d is much more expensive, we should comprare it with an i7 14700
Thats expected. It can squeeze more FPS from it, so the power should go higher. The i5 is bottlenecking the 4090 a little bit, that's why the power is lower. The GPU is waiting on the CPU.
Generally, when people talk about productivity, they mean things like video editing, simulations, heavy AI systems, sometimes music production or photo editing, those are not very intense for most people on a modern CPU though. Any CPU above 5600X or 12400F would handle your workload. Just get 32GB of RAM and it'll handle all those instances.

I think that the 14600K would not be a bad option if it reached a price range no higher than €200/$ or €250/$, in my country it is €300 and the 7800x3d is €420. If I get the 14600k with a b760 board (the cheapest) and 32gb DDR4 memory it is €520, the 7800x3d is €720 looking for more or less cheap parts between a B650 (also the cheapest) and 32gb DDR5 6000Mhz memory , the advantages that the AM5 platform allows for future improvement for something like the 9000 series (or whatever they decide to call it) and it already has ddr5 that gives more performance than DDR4, although I think that by the time the 14600K is completely obsolete it would be better jump to a new platform, the same for the 7800x3d that when it is already obsolete it would be for the end of the AM5 generation for what it performs.
As for price to performance, i5 wins here, at least in my country lol. Here i5 14600k is $60 cheaper and is way better than this Ryzen 7 in professional workloads and productivity performance. Gonna buy a Ryzen 9 7900X as it's the same price of this Ryzen 7 7800X3D here, for good gaming and productivity purpose and future proofing too. AMD really needs to UP their core counts to encounter Intel Counterparts, at least by coming next gen Zen 5 9000 series CPUs on this AM5 platform.

And nobody cares and aknowledges the tuning power. And their beloved "fastest" 7800x3d will be less stable in games and many tasks than tuned 13900K.
Different topography, depends where they put the temperature sensors, depends on how AMD vs Intel "measure" their temperatures etc and also that AMD CPU has a thicker IHS.
The integretad heat spreader of am5 cpus is garbage and it limit the thermal transfer to the cooler. The efficiency of intel's cpus is awasome and way better then am5

If you use proper ram for the 14600k (supports 7400 easy, even more often) its a closer gap. The x3d is great but seems to not benefit with higher ram clocks.
A) No one games at 1080p with a 4090. There is negligible difference at 1440p and 4K. B) 14600K crushes the 7800X3D in productivity and especially in video editing. C) 14600K is cheaper. If I were a desktop user, I'd go Intel. Simply because Intel is now what AMD used to be. Remember what a great CPU R5 3600 was?! But since I'm more into laptops, I stick with AMD due to far superior efficiency.
wtf are you talking about, 14600k is around 15% faster in video editing but losing 15% fps in games, so how is that crushing??? Also 14600K is not cheaper when you take account for motherboard and RAM
because this is how you test a CPU rather than a GPU. Upping the resolution leads to GPU bottlenecks. By keeping the resolution low, the CPU can do whatever it can with itself being the main limit.
- better value - upgradability in the future - no need to fiddle with RAM - destroys all the highest end Intel CPUs at gaming Yeah, 7800X3D is the clear winner.
Compare with the i7 at least and the same budget range. Of course 7800X3D would still be the beast because of copium. But the power consumption man, the 7800X3D looks sweet while still outperforming in term of FPS.
Please remember that the vast majority of PC gamers play on 1440p now. The higher the resolution, the smaller the impact of the cpu. At 4K, you're almost guaranteed to be GPU bottlenecked. Even at 1440p the difference is much smaller.
@@Jakiyyyyy I think it would be more accurate to say that the people that are considering buying a 7800x3d are more likely to be playing on 1440p or 4k. Not saying they all do, just that if you have the cash to get the 7800x3d, then you likely have the cash to go for a 1440p/4k monitor.
@@takuma7812 That makes sense but on higher res it dozen matter anymore because the GPU will do all the hard work. Prolly people get the high end CPUs just want to maxed out their 360hz panel on 1080p?
@@Jakiyyyyy I feel that there are more people that are willing to get the 7800x3d just as a 'set it and forget for 5 or 10-ish years' so they can only focus on upgrading their GPUs for their 1440p/4k panels then there are people who would grab it to push their 360hzs 1080p panels. It probably also depends on what type of games you play as well. MMO, simulator type, and some strategy games typically love cache and usually aren't too GPU heavy. So the people that play those I can see going for the x3d even if they play on 4k. We often see 1440p/4k as very GPU demanding, but that usually is only the case with recently released games paired with recent hardware, but if you have the habit of playing older games that were pushing the limit when they were released but can now be played with a smoother experience with modern hardware then I can see someone wanting to have the x3d if it was the CPU that was limiting factor when the game was released. I simply think that there are too many variables to how someone might want to play/upgrade their hardware to just simple say the 7800x3d is pointless for 1440p/4k.

Why not use 14900k?
Different price tier, besides 14900k would lose to 7800x3d as well LOL
14600K same price range. For fair comparison.
@@evilleader1991 lose???? Come on…
@@mfelicio1 watch gamers nexus new video about 7800x3d against every intel cpu in every load , you will not be happy
@@mfelicio1 yes the 14900k is slower than the 7800x3d
Intel screwed up 14 th generations
consider the price, the i5 its way more worth it
80 fps AAA games are shit on 2024. 1080p where is the future
The error is +- they are the same, but in some games ryzen 7 will be better❤❤❤
I5 should suffice .but if you got the extra cash go for ryzen
Eu queria entender como o i5 que gasta mais energia é mais frio que o 7800x3d que gasta menos energia.
I5 14600kf
5.7ghz on P-Cores
4.3Ghz on E-cores
Entered the chat 😂
I managed to overclock stably at P-5.7Ghz, E-4.5Ghz, after such an overclock it catches up with the i7 14700K.
@@RocketXE for me 4.3 on E its the limit, it can go furder, but at the cost of too much temperature, so its fine for mee
