Therefore, it might be wise to wait a while before it is applied, but once baptism is understood, there should be no delay in its execution. In the first century, however, the Jewish people understood the meaning of baptism, so Paul was to immediately get up, be baptized, and wash away his sins, calling on Yeshua’s name. It is important to note that this command was addressed to a Jew who, like the people in Acts 2:38, belonged to the generation that rejected the Messiah. The meaning of baptism is therefore the same: It would not save Paul spiritually, but it would save him physically from the A.D. 70 judgment.

.. Greetings.. And thank you for your time... I have a few questions that no one seems to give a good answer to on the subject... #1) So since gentiles are not required to keep none of The Torah... Then Why did James and em, "still trouble" the gentiles by giving them those "4 Torah Commandments", in Acts 15 : 20, to keep??... No idols - Exodus 20 : 4 - 6 No Fornication - Deut 23 : 17 No Blood - Lev. 7 : 26 - 27 , or strangulation Deut. 12 : 16 .. ( For someone coming into the Church, who loved to fornicate; wouldn't having to give all that up, be a heavy yoke, and for some, not able to bear?... #2 ) Why did That Same Church Council Not "trouble" them with just 2 of The Torah Commandments to: Love God - Deut 6 : 4 - 6? & Love Neighbor - Lev. 19 : 18? #3 ) When contrasting between the "hearers of The Law" & The "doers of The Law" in Romans 2 : 13; Why did Paul say that the "doers of the Law shall be justified"? ... #4 ) When looking at all the 10 Commandments for example; is God now expecting us to feel obliged not to keep them? Were they saying not fornicate anymore.. but feel free to commit adultery?? It seems to me that there's alot of cherry-pickin going on here! And i suspect it's because most Christians really don't understand the difference between The Oral Torah & The Written Torah? ( Matthew 15 & Mark 7 )
So your saying God now allows corporate worship on the Sabbath? Or is Jesus now our Sabbath rest, so we can worship, work and provide for our families on any day of the week. Matthew 12:12 How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days. Colossians 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: SHALOM
It seems to me that you missed the most important question and thus came to an erroneous conclusion on a particular point. The question is: Is there such a thing as a "gentile believer"? Paul write thus: (caps for highlight): "Therefore remember that you, the gentiles, IN TIME PAST were in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; and that at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth OF ISRAEL, and strangers from the COVENANTS of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world." (Eph 2:11-12) Remember to whom the New Covenant was promised: "Behold, the days come, says Yahweh, that I will cut a NEW COVENANT with the house of ISRAEL, and with the house of JUDAH." (Jer 31:31) There is no New Covenant for "gentiles" unless they are "grafted in" to ISRAEL." Understanding this, the Acts 15:20 Text becomes clear, because it is these very four (initial) Laws that one is "cut off" from Israel, therefore, there's no point even pretending to be part of the New Covenant if you are "cut off" right from the get-go! - defilements of idols (Exo 22:20, Lev 17:7, Deu 32:17, Deu 32:21) - whoring (Lev 17:7; 18:6-29; Num 25:1-3) - what is strangled (Gen 9:4; Deu 12:23 - eating with the blood) - blood (Lev 3:17; 7:626-27; 17:10-14; Deu 12:16) Thus Acts 15:21 (which you dismissed) becomes clear that new converts continue their learning (and thus repentance) by hearing Moses (the Law) being read and obey what they hear. (faith comes by hearing... etc.)
Being baptised in Jesus name is not a command!! But the commandments of the Lord are!! Obviously WISDOM from the Holy Spirit is needed!! The 10 commandments are not an option/optional but mandatory, whereas the Baptism in Jesus name is not what saves but the OBEDIENCE TO THE WORD OF GOD , THROUGH HIS HOLY SPIRIT!!
If you want to be cursed Galatians 3:10. You got to keep all the law 612 more commandments there buddy. But it does you nothing.Acts 2:38 makes you born again according to the New Testament I would start there.

This is false teaching brother. The dispute between Paul and all only small fractions among Jewish believers who wanted to make the gentiles to go through conversion process into Judaism through coircumscission. These people still hold on to their pervious understanding that they can be saved through works (circuncission and oberving The Law), while Paul strongly oppose the idea, because salvation is only through faith in Christ alone. But should Gentiles come to faith in Christi they will gradually enter into faith by followimg God's words and commandments in the Scriptures. Jesus never abolosh any law of the Torah (that the Jews called the Law of Moses). He fulfilled the law but not abolosh it and never He commanded the believets to forsake those laws, as He hikself follow and set the examples for believers. What Jesus and also later Paul strongly oppose is not the Torah and biblical traditiins but be man-made laws (so called Oral Torah) and elder traditions that The Pharisees and Sadduces forced on people above the Torah laws. And in the Jerusalem council decision is not to set new laws for the gentiles to follow, but becauee no gentiles can overnight follow the Torah (when they the Jews themselves can't do that) so they gave that four starting points for the gentiles to follow then as they grow in faith and learning the Torah, as it is actually being preached and taught every Sabbath when theu gather to worship and listen the Torah being read and preached, they will gradually understand the Torah and then follow it. They follow it not because a legalism or obligation, but bu faith in Christ. Paul and the other apostles never teach anyoneone to forsake the Law of Moses and follow new law, because thery actually teach and preach from the Torah and protherts. The disupute is not about following the Torah or forsaking it. It is the qiestion about salvation, while soem Jews argue that the gentiles can only be saved through conversion process and to be circumcosed and follow the Torah, whole Paul strongly opposed to that, salvation is only through faith in Christ, and once someone come to faith, they will follow the Torah and all the commandments and statutes because of faith. Paul position is the Torah Law and salvation is correlation, while the mainstream Jews like Pharisees postion is causal. Believers (Jews and gentiles) receive salvation in Christ, and thus by faith following God's Laws in Torah. While for the Pharisees people are saved because of following the Torah and all the traditions based on Torah. JESUS never intorduce new set of laws and commandments, instead Jesus bring about the right understanding about God's Laws and commendments so that the people do not fall into false religious practices. And that the Law and God's commandments are not to be put under the man's laws and tradition. And that all the Laws rest on love God and love one another. It is not new commandment, Love God is Jewish creed of faith, in Shema. And love one another also the base of the ten commandments. And all commandments relating to how to treat one anothet in Torah. So Jesus taught that we follow the Torsh because wr love God and love one another. Paul and all the apostles bever teach anything outside of Torah and the Prophets (the Scripture). To suggest or to misinterpret that they somehow teach a new law and traditions actually disregard them and their ministry. There are many believers even the Jews who find Paul teaching is difficult to understand, that is why Peter told them to not fall into sich misunderstandiny that will lead to destruction. To really be careful not to misinterpret Paul's teaching. Because unlike other Apostles, Paul was a pharisee, he was a learned man in Scripture and he had that deep knowledge of the Scripture. And he can use words or sentences that if believers not really paying attention to they could misinterpreted him. The problem with Christianity started from early 4th century is, Christianity do exactly like the Pharisees, made their own laws and traditioms that supersedes the Scriptures. Even worse for Christianity is that they forsake the Law of Moses and replaced it with their own man-made laws and traditions. While Jesus warned His followers unless their righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees then they will not enter the kingdom of heaven, Jesis never have problems even commend the Pharisees and their teachers because their devotion to the Scriptures and teach it to people and that they taught Righteousness and strictly taugh people to abide by it. Jesus even told His followers, that that the teachers and pharisees sit on Moses seat, and warn the followers to careful to do everything they taught, but also woth warning not to follow what they do, because THEY DO NOT PRACTICR WHAT THEY TEACH. The scribes, the teachers and the pharisees are at the time the official interpreter of the Scripture, they were the leatned men, they dedicated their time to study the Scriptires and to interpreted the Scriptures. Why Jesis commanded His followers to follow their teachings then if later on Christianity have to forsake the Torah laws? Jesus taught the disciples and His followers not to follow those Pharises in their religios ptactices that supersedes the Torah (the so called oral laws of Moses and traditions of elders). While there are many traditions that have ground in Scruptures but in no wau those.traditions to be put above the Torah itself. That's what Jesus taighy. Jesus and all apostles and all earliest believers all following Torah and also traditions that are based on the Scriptures. All them circumcised, all them observing Sabbath, all of them following dietary laws, all of them celebrating days of feast and observing days of commemoration commanded by God in the Scripture. They all went to Temple, before anf after Jesus death, resurrection and ascentions. So what to follow then? What law and commandment to follow? When the supposed Jesus laws and commandmenst all can be traced back to Torah? He never said anything about forsaking the Torah, of we have to forsake the Torah why wr even need Old Testament? Just to read them and to quote from them? New Testament have not even exist as a canon whrn Jesus and the apostles did their minostry, and Jesus and those apostles always teach from the Torah. Exactly because of that the Pharisees everytime troed to trap Jesus to find if He preached something out of the Torah. So all these things about making Gods law and commandments in Torah as obselete and no longer valid to follow have no basis in New Testament whatsoever. Paul circumcised Timothy, and probably all the gentile believers after comimg to faith, after being baptised, in water and in spirit, they began to grow in faith by entering the Law of God in light of Christs. THe law of Moses or Torah is not an option to chose or to abandon, it is not an option, not a choice. It is God's commandment to follow. So for brother and the viewers, for better understanding about this issue, I suggest to watch the series by 119 ministries caled Pauline Paradox, they gave deep explanation about Paul's.teachings that so many Christians misunderstood and misinterpret, the way some earliest believers did as warned by Peter. Also therr are videos about food laws what actually in greel text said about clean and common food in reagards to new gentile believers and jewish belirvets tablesharing. And also about Peter's visions. What the words used to for clean food and common food that translated into english just as food. And what about Jewish practices in regards to dietary law and how the earliest believers from Jewish background have table sharing with new gentile believers. And about circumcission and its purpose in God's covenant with believers. And about Sabbath and Sinday how it evolved ftom Sabbath worship to Sunday worship. and they are always open to critics and even ask to corrext them if you find their explanation is not biblocally spund and always respond with Scriptures.
@@michaelpalmer7954 And? What it has to do with observing Sabbath. The very verse you quoted is a clear commabd for Israrlites to observe Sabbath. And indeed the Israelites observe Sabbath at homes with theiir families from biblical time until now from the sunstet on Friday to the sunset of Saturday. And to say there is no corporate worship on Sabbath? There is in New Terstament. They always gather in synagogues to listen to Torah being read and taught. Jesus even went to challeng thos rabbis when he was onl 12, on Sabbath. Therr is a reason why this tradition is started and in no way contrasting Torah. Because not All Israelites could have access to the Scriptures, not all Israelites could read, the only ones who studied and had accrss to the Scriptures mostly Scribes, Rabbis, and Priests, not to mention bot all can afford to have Scriptures at home, like nowadays, because the materials to write or copy the Scripture was super expensive. So they gather on Saturday norning in sybagogues to listen to and memorise the Torah and Prophets. Read throughout the new testaments, Paul always teach and preach on Sabath in synagogue, it is his custom. They gather and worship and listening to him reaching, so were other Apostles. But the believers could gather at any day to for fellowship and other things. But to learn Torah tbey went to synagogue on Sabbath. The sane as they could visit the temple at any day if the week. And to observe Sabbath is God's written commandment on that stone tablet in Sinai. We really can't cherry pick what Commandment to follow and what not to follow. To keep and to uphold sinply mean we should remember and teach them down from generation to generations. Brcausd there were many different categories, there are laws for thr levites, the priest, and temple services, there were laws for women, regarding marriage, regarding dietary, how to judge matters, and so on. The law for the priest, the levites and sacrifices of course can't be applied, because there was no temple anymore and no periestly line anymore. And nope those laws are not changed, we should keep teacing them to our children and children and so on. Shalom.

Colossians 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
SHALOM
It seems to me that you missed the most important question and thus came to an erroneous conclusion on a particular point.
The question is:
Is there such a thing as a "gentile believer"?
Paul write thus: (caps for highlight):
"Therefore remember that you, the gentiles, IN TIME PAST were in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; and that at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth OF ISRAEL, and strangers from the COVENANTS of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world."
(Eph 2:11-12)
Remember to whom the New Covenant was promised:
"Behold, the days come, says Yahweh, that I will cut a NEW COVENANT with the house of ISRAEL, and with the house of JUDAH." (Jer 31:31)
There is no New Covenant for "gentiles" unless they are "grafted in" to ISRAEL."
Understanding this, the Acts 15:20 Text becomes clear, because it is these very four (initial) Laws that one is "cut off" from Israel, therefore, there's no point even pretending to be part of the New Covenant if you are "cut off" right from the get-go!
- defilements of idols (Exo 22:20, Lev 17:7, Deu 32:17, Deu 32:21)
- whoring (Lev 17:7; 18:6-29; Num 25:1-3)
- what is strangled (Gen 9:4; Deu 12:23 - eating with the blood)
- blood (Lev 3:17; 7:626-27; 17:10-14; Deu 12:16)
Thus Acts 15:21 (which you dismissed) becomes clear that new converts continue their learning (and thus repentance) by hearing Moses (the Law) being read and obey what they hear.
Follow Jesus words to Nicodemus in John 3:3-8 and to Thomas in John chapter 20:20-29. Baptism is a work and is a testimony for who you are in Christ. First century Baptism was crucial in the growth of the Church but as you read the above passages and understand in Acts 10:44-47, that the Holy Spirit came upon those who Believed before Baptism, you will see someone is Saved then Baptized. Jesus teaches that clearly in John Chapters 3 and 20.
It is a free gift given by God's Grace. Ephesians 2:5-10. SHALOM...
There is no corporate sabbath worship in the Torah. Exodus 16:28-30. Shalom...
Shalom.
